  1. The semi finals were always going to be lunchtime kick offs. Just be glad that we're in one again and also that it's not on the Sunday.

  2. Last SC semi WAS at Hampden and we beat Celtic 3-2. Only about 2000 ict fans that day but lives long in memory probably more so than the final.

  4. I feel obliged to start this thread in praise of John Robertson and how he set us up today, imho, he got it spot on. As most of you know, I am not always Robbo's biggest supporter so by starting this, I'm kind of admitting my errors regarding that. I spoke with the site manager last week and basically apologised for some of my posts and reactions in the past and we came to a mutual agreement that, after a bad result, I will leave it a day or two before posting, in order to calm down. I thanked him and all the mods for being reasonable with me so, I promise them all that I will not be a pain anymore. Anyway, back to today, I say everyone involved with the club deserve credit for this cup run :ictscarf:.

  5. I have no issues with anyone being on here using a pseudonym unless they are disrupting the forum itself or breaking our site rules. We have had players, staff, and directors on here over the years as well as local and national media people, and each is entitled to read/browse the forum for info/opinion (as most do) or to publish their own opinion which might sometimes be controversial if they used their own names. It could also be taken as club policy when its just opinion and ultimately could be used in a disciplinary fashion by SFA/SPFL in the same way they have used twitter or facebook comments when something is said. Some 'out themselves' and say who they are but others prefer to remain somewhat anonymous as is their right. I dont see anything underhanded in any recent posts by board members.

  6. Re underhand, undercover board members, I very much doubt that any of us say anything on here we wouldn't say in an open forum e.g. the AGM which nobody seems to know hellish much about? I'm not really bothered about board members being on here if I'm honest as my hope would be that they may actually glean a sense of what the majority are thinking? I use a pseudonym as the forum asks for a nickname when you set up. And yes, let's get Hearts pumped and get to the final against Aberdeen and beat them on pens please.

  9. So, it's Hearts. Pay back time for that League Cup drubbing earlier in the season What's the betting that the powers that be once more consider Easter Road to be a fair neutral venue probably with a twelve noon kick off.

  11. Takes a bigger person to admit the error of their ways or otherwise so hats off to you, I'm sure you are your biggest critic in that respect. There's nothing wrong with being passionate and caring about your team but it needs to be in context, the beauty of the forum is we can walk away and come back before hitting the 'submit reply' button. I think like your post we'll all reflect at the end of the season on JR however I am currently full of praise for what he's done considering our constraints, yes we'd all have liked to win the league but so would every football fan and in truth we're only a few too many draws instead of wins away from it being a really good season in respect to results.

  12. ... with the SFA officially taking ownership of the stadium next year and QP moving to lesser Hampden then this makes sense. All marquee games and internationals should take place at the "National Stadium". I used to go to quite a lot of Scotland games and it was quite an adventure (in a good way that has fond memories) .... The trek to Hampden in the afternoon, the game, the journey back up the road on the overnight train [with what seemed like a never ending wait at Perth for the mail/papers to get loaded], getting home around 4am and grabbing some milk of the Stratton Dairies float from Jock the milkman ... then off to work around 7am !!! It still holds a special place for domestic football too. Who can forget our journeys to Hampden over the years. Loads of memories and loads more to come hopefully

  14. Take great result today. Queens have been on a bad run, but we needed to get the job done, and we did it well. I'm really looking forward to Friday evening. Our formation currently seems to be working well, and County are a few players short too. Time to show them (again) that we are the best team in the Highlands! I really hope we get a great home support. Come on guys!!

  16. Easter Road for me. Let's remember we weren't at Hampden for the last SC semi and we got to the final and also the last semi we played at Easter Road we go to the final, so double luck omen here!

  17. Phone the club, pretend you are Tony Hadley and croon - Text me or tell me, but it's always second-hand; I'm incognito but no rendezvous's been planned; Dictate or relay, I could send it to your home; "Return to Sender" - I could sing it down the phone! Communication let me down; But I'm left here; Communication let me down; But I'm left here, I'm left here AGAIN

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

    • Inverness CT -V- Arbroath - Preview
It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...

    • Partick 1-0 Inverness CT - Report
Big Trouble Down the Dump: Billy Mckay was back in the starting XI along with Samson Lawal with Pepple dropping to the bench and Shaw out for the season. Both teams had seven on the bench with Roddy MacGregor getting a rare seat. Scott Robinson scored the only goal of the game just before the break. Inverness were reduced to ten men when Cammy Kerr was sent off just after an hour. Despite creating more opportunities, the points just evaded us.

      Meh!
