  1. I don’t understand fans staying away because they don’t trust the Board. Most fans don’t give a stuff about the Board - they, like me, go to watch football and support the players of ICT. It’s like saying you’re never going to buy in M&S because you don’t like their board members.

  2. I think that you are getting very close to making defamatory accusations, and I am surprised that the mods haven't said anything. By all means, criticise the Board, but if you can't prove it, don't say it.

  3. These players have got us to the semi final of the Scottish cup. Its not perfect every game but to decry them is this way is unfair imho. The football side is the only part of the club currently functioning that I can see.

  4. Some of us don't just wander across the city and spend £30 on match day. I have over a 1000 mile round trip to make. If I don't like the way the board is operating and spending cash ie on catering companies run by the cousin of the Chair then I am very unlikely to make that kind of effort. The last home game cost me over £300 to get there, watch a shambles of a display because we don't have the money for decent players, and knowing that nepotism and petty politics within the board is partly responsible for that, then I am less likely to make those sacrifices in the future. And I am not the only one that feels that way.

  5. Mrs Snorbens and I have just agreed that we are taking to the streets on the People's Vote March in London on Saturday. First time we have ever done anything like that. We are so f***ing mad with what is going on that taking to the streets is the only option.

  6. Just watched the Prime Minister's latest pathetic statement. How dare that arrogant misguided woman lecture me and tell me what I want and tell me what is good for me. She assures me that she will not stand for an extension beyond the end of June. Then again she gave the same assurance that she had no intention of calling a General Election and would, under no circumstances, extend the date of Brexit beyond the 29th of March.

  7. That is simply not true. The Annual Report stated that 58% of total expenditure was spent on first team footballing resources. That compares pretty favourably with other clubs. It will be the case that some of the expenditure relates to previously negotiated contracts on which the current regime has little control, but nevertheless, with such a large drop in turnover, it seems to me that the Board is protecting the playing budget as much as it reasonably can. Running a football club has a variety of unavoidable costs which inevitably represent a higher proportion of total costs for smaller clubs. We would all like to see more money being spent on the team but this will only happen if costs can be further reduced and/or income increased. Reducing income by not attending matches will not help.

  8. Buster - what a ridiculous statement. The money paid by fans goes to support the club and running costs. To say that the directors are lining their pockets with this, when some of them have invested large sums of money, with little chance of recouping the investment is just an astonishing thing to say and no evidence from you to back this up. Jockdoonsooth - while I appreciate you make a substantial financial commitment to attend "home" games, to suggest that many fans are not willing to attend games because of the current board is ridiculous. What happened previously when crowds were lower or fell away before the current board, was that because folk were pissed off with the board?. Our crowds now are not hugely higher than when we first got promoted from the first division. maybe around 800 more from memory (I stand corrected if wrong). Basically we have never managed to substantially increase our crowds year on year. Look at the Falkirk/Partick Thistle game last weekend, a bottom of the table clash but almost 5000 attended. We have punched above our weight for years but if we cannot increase our crowds then we will, and deserve to be no more than a Championship team and possibly part time. We have rarely made a profit in our existence so hardly likely to do so in the next few years. Your comment about supporters money being frittered away for the board members to feather their nests is also, as I have replied to Buster, ridiculous and again would like to see some evidence. Basically the club is running at a loss, and has done so for most of its existence. The only way to avoid another £800 k loss is to cut costs and reduce staffing levels/wages. Without that happening, the decline in the club will accelerate which none of us wants to see, or perhaps some do,

  9. Nobody is saying that things are all rosy but your answer is to stop going to games and supporting the players? That'll definitely help.

  10. Go search my posts then and you will see threads and contributions from myself and others on this subject many times along with numerous other posters. But overall the board have taken on the positions with a duty to move the club forwards - I haven't therefore its not my responsibility to answer the outstanding questions. When there are issues with public services do you go running to the government or local authority with solutions - no you request the politicians or representatives in place to represent you do their job and improve the situation.

  11. While a degree of confidentiality is appreciated, much of the summary is common knowledge that we need to balance the books and have more outgoings than incomings brought on by previous mismanagement and dropping out of the Premiership. What I think everyone wants to know is where and what is the strategy moving forwards - how is the club going to build a sustainable model as right now we posted losses of £800k which its unlikely we will make profits in coming years to recover. Its clear that footfall alone will not improve to recover this alone as previous & current regimes have struggled to get increased interest from the local community, so do we have any other ideas or blue sky thinking or strategies and with the reduction in personnel is there business model and development people around the club to move it forwards?

  13. Calling you bloggers out there ....... the forum software we have has had a few updates over the years and the blogging portion of it is no exception. It now has the ability to pull in a feed of articles from your own hosted or self-hosted blog and allow you to bring them to a wider audience. Whether your blog is ICT related or about something else reasonably relevant to our audience, feel free to set one up on here and pull your articles in. I have done it with my 'Across the Pond' blog and gallery about Toronto FC and the example can be seen here : For our users, it may give them some more interesting football articles to read like James Rendall's excellent article that Mannie uploaded this week and for you bloggers out there it allows the posts you make on your own blog to be advertised here with a link right back to your blog that will drive traffic to your site .... a win-win for everyone. We wont put any restrictions on this to begin with but if anyone starts posting anything inappropriate then we do reserve the right to suspend or block that particular blog feed from the site and remove blogging permissions on the account. If anyone wants more info or needs help to set one up, let me know. We would really like to encourage more people to write opinion pieces or import interesting articles from their own blogs .....

  14. I am going to post this in here and in the Academy thread just so we are clear. It is acceptable to post that you believe the board is doing a good job or a bad job, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. It is acceptable to reference things that are in the public domain such as the resignation of individuals, the fact that our recently resigned CEO is a relative of our chairman and the proprietor of a company now providing service to the club, or the state of our accounts, but without proof or anything to substantiate things it is NOT acceptable to post blanket statements such as the directors are lining their pockets. Our finances are precarious but that is nothing new over the last 25 years. As noted by another poster this comes very close to defamation unless you have evidence to back that up. Please post opinion or fact but dont step over the line by posting opinion as fact .....

  15. I havent blogged seriously for a couple of years. I just add the odd article. its mostly galleries and stats after each game and these are pages rather than posts so not on any feed. I take about 1000 photos each game and whittle it down to between 50 and 100 for the site ... This year I figured to add a few blog posts. The blog needs to have an atom or RSS feed. If you are using wordpress its just <wordpress-URL>/feed. You go to Blogs then create one (should have permissions), then when looking at your blog you go to manage and add the feed in the settings. it should import it automatically. Mine imported just the title so I had to go in and add the preamble. not sure if thats a wordpress thing or because I had the feed settings in wordpress set to summary. IF the blog feed is added here then as a workaround you should be able to follow it here and it will appear when a new post is added

  16. The entire club is a shambles, run by people who don’t want to be there and are, as an added bonus, incompetent. The only way anything will change is if someone comes in and takes over the club and clears all these people out but no-one is going to do that so we are stuck with this until something forces a change.

  17. Ok, I added it and pulled in your RSS feed. the articles now appear and I made you the owner of it so you can customise it, add any header pictures or go in and edit the feed to add teasers or anything else you want to do. if you do nothing it should just pull in your articles and show them as 'new' in the site feed.

  19. So what are your ideas, then? It's easy to criticise - very difficult to see the way forward. I am sure that the Board will welcome all credible suggestions.

  20. Far more questions than answers. While it is appreciated that maintaining full time football outside of the top tier is a very difficult task the current regime do not inspire confidence in either their integrity, openness or competence. Sadly, nobody there are no queues waiting in the wings anxious and able to replace them. Worrying times.

  21. Sorry not to have been able to post anything before now. I attended along with Jen Aitchison on behalf of the Supporters Trust. There were around 50 people attending . I am sure you will understand that the AGM is not a public meeting and therefore I am not in a position to give as much information as people might like. The Chairman (Graham Rae) spoke to the Annual Report and Financial Statements and then fielded questions from the floor on a number of topics including the less than healthy accounts and recent staff departures. It is no secret that the reduced level of income which can be expected in the Championship is simply not enough to maintain desired levels of expenditure. The Board has to balance expenditure with it's ability to generate a steady and reliable income stream, together with occasional windfall payments (cup runs, transfers etc) and cash injections from Directors and others. There are inevitably differences of opinion as to how best to go about achieving this balance, but nobody spoke specifically against any of the resolutions and all were passed overwhelmingly by a show of hands. As for recent departures, the Chairman quite rightly said that the reasons for any individual's departure must remain confidential. The two new Directors, Liam Dalgarno and Ross Morrison both spoke passionately about why they have agreed to join the Board and I am sure they will be a real asset to the Club as we move forward. John Robertson was present and answered a couple of questions at the end. He said he feels we are a better footballing side than Hearts and is confident we can beat them. He also spoke about artificial pitches and again spoke highly about the one they use for training at the Rugby club. From a Supporter's Trust perspective, I had a brief chat with Graham Rae prior to the meeting and he expressed a wish to establish a regular programme of scheduled meetings with the Trust. It is good that the Board now seems keen to engage with the Supporter's Trust and we'll keep you updated on how that goes.

  23. It wouldn't surprise me if DM wasn't offered a post in Dingwall. Has a good working relationship with most of the top guys and coaching staff...why would you want to hang around in this asylum?

  24. Hard to disagree with that to be honest.

  25. Fact - the board were asked to vote on whether the ex CEO went or Danny McDonald. They backed Danny so why he has now resigned is a mystery. I am also sure that Mr Rae would stand down as chairman if someone wants to take over. He didn't want to be chairman in the first place but no one else wanted to do the job. This is definitely a case of be careful what you wish for. Don't exactly see a queue of people wanting to take a place on the board though.

  28. And so the plot thickens. "It is with regret ... " my arse. It's more like " You saw off the wife of my cousin from her job acquired through nepotism ... so you can do one." Bloody shambles. Normally you cut out the rot from the good stuff but we seem to be cutting out the good stuff and leaving the rot.

  29. Well your 'fact' may be up for debate, Seemingly from my source, the club were not happy with DM, CEO tried to get backing to remove same and didn't get support from various and necessary parties. CEO resigned. DM resigned. Cost cutting to minimise losses continues.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...
