  1. I reckon it's a bit presumptuous to write us off after only one game in the Championship, and that against the clear favourites and financially backed Dundee United. Yes we need to improve, but until we can gauge ourselves against similar opposition to ourselves then I will refrain from making rash judgement. Not the best result, but a tough opening fixture for anyone.

  2. Livi also did us 3-0 at home in Pele's first league game. We lost 4-0 away to Dunfermline in the opening day in '99. And 3-0 at home to Rangers in '07. And 3-0 at Fir Park in '11. This is just a thing we do. Everything will be allright.

  3. Is he better than McGregor, Mackay or Machedo. I don't think so. Robbo keeps talking up our youngsters yet signs guys who are no better than what we have. Storey is certainly no legend. In the history of ICT this is possibly the best core of youngsters to come through. All these guys need is a chance. We've got nothing to lose.

  4. Alan is a wise man with incredible powers of prediction. You might even call him a 'seer'. Glad to finally have one of those on this forum after years of false advertising.

  5. At danger of being a Happy Clapper here goes. Did anyone expect anything else from Tannadump other than a performance improvement ? To blame on fitness is nonsense although perhaps we concentrated more on game time rather than your traditional pre-season torture ? Every cup counts until you get knocked out of it so dropping out helps is also nonsense. How may would have been looking forward to a last 16 tie ? But as tm4j suggests the next two games have become very, very important. But lets not get into the thinking trap that Arbroath are there for the taking - BUT this simply has to be a three point result if nothing else. Then we go back to Dens and although we were bad they were little better. And then there is Robbo. I sincerely hope that the signing of Storey is a sign that we are going to have more of an attacking ethos ? Dundee especially had us sussed tactically so we should be able to turn the tables as they are equally one-dimensional - if not moreso. 4-6 points out of 9 will look a lot, lot better.

  6. We clearly have issues which need to be sorted out quickly. We have had five competitive matches, have lost to both Dundee clubs, have beaten Raith and Cove, and drawn with Peterhead. I don't buy the line that the League Cup is a noddy cup that no one cares about. It has essentially the same pool of teams as the Scottish Cup (I'm ignoring the non-league teams here), and so it's just as difficult to win as the Scottish Cup. Maybe more so since it's not straight knockout. I sincerely hope that no manager or team says "That cup doesn't count" or "These early games are all about finding our feet". The team needs to learn how to win, and it needs to have confidence in itself. Pretending that early results aren't so important is foolish. At the end of the season, the margin between success and failure could be one point or goal difference.

  7. So the consensus is that we're feckin shyte early season and we'll improve as the months go by... Bloody hope so.

  8. If Miles Storey has been so good then why did his last team let him go when approached by Robbo? If he has lost the pace, or the place, then he will last only one season perhaps? In which case he is merely a "plug-in" rather than a future prospect so to speak? And if so, Robbo, then why bother? We're surely faced with building a strong winning team for the future at the moment rather than for the sake of seeking a pressure-filled romp each season ?

  9. I would start Todorov instead of White just to see if that makes a difference but the style of play needs to change hoofing the ball not working

  10. This early defeat will either depress Robbo in the short term or goad him into definitive reaction. If D. United can start with such enterprise and sweeping dynamism in the first game then it does appear that Robbo may have a real uphill struggle on his hands. So how quickly will he react with verve and a REAL plan to address the negative issues that the team has encountered so far? And the big question is .."does he have the class of player and resources to provide the answer?"

  12. Ah yes, I was even at some of those, but managed to erase them from my mind until your helpful reminder. ?

  13. Everyone knows Shanklad is a threat In the penalty box and a proven goal scorer so how on earth is he allowed to score all four goals inc!uding three with his head. Surely someone had orders to mark him or did nobody use their brain and take it on their own initiative to do the necessary. We seriously need to sign some defenders - not more strikers.

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
