  1. Very pleased with another, fairly comfortable 3 points. Pity Dundee Utd got those 2 last minute goals in their match. Very disappointing crowd. Let us keep this good run going and see how things stand in a few weeks. I'm getting more optimistic every week.

  3. First off, an apology for those who were trying to listen to the live commentary. Unfortunately we had a broken audio cable, which we didn't notice till half-time. So we were jabbering away for 45 minutes and no-one was able to hear us. To be honest, we'd just spent most of the time raving about Sean Welsh... As for the game, that was a stroll in the sunshine. Welsh's goal was a cracker, whilst Walsh got a fortunate break of the ball but finished brilliantly. After that we pretty much controlled the game, rarely breaking out of third gear but also rarely looking threatened. Had our strikers been particularly good today (that White miss in the second half?!) that could have been another 5-0. The back four were all terrific today. Has it got to the point where we stop going on about how good Rooney has been, as if its some sort of surprise? Both the goals came from him getting forward down the right flank and he defended well again. As for Welsh, I think he gave the ball away once, in about the 75th minute. He absolutely strolled it and I thoroughly enjoyed watching him in action. Matches like this are not always entertaining, but the manager must be delighted. Dominant and confident without really breaking much of a sweat. Long may it last.

  5. And no bookings. BBC match stats suggest it was comfortable. Is that right?

  6. The issues of footfall have been discussed to death elsewhere on here (some really good threads and posts worth searching for), but the reality is that even as you suggest the club get established and challenge for Top 6 every season there wont be a significant numbers increase (remember when we were in the Premiership) - the big issue is the lack of connection between the fans, club & city and the inability of the club to effectively take advantage of success and positives to use as a marketing tool to draw 'new' or 'lapsed' blood into the stands.

  7. Let's not jump the gun folks. We've made a solid start to the season and on present form no reason we can't put Utd under pressure. Even if they end up winning the league no reason we can't finish second : I would fancy us against any team finishing second bottom of the top league (albeit we would have to win the 2nd/3rd 'semi final' first. Just keep racking up wins so the team gain a winning mentality.

  8. Aye if Harry Kane scored a goal like Welsh's today the commentators would have been raving about it. His performances are setting the standard. This was also a very strong team performance. They work and fight for each other. Bit more composure and they can score many more goals. ?

  9. Deserved win, should have been more convincing, but equally we could have let them back in it during a poor spell midway through the second half. Fortunately their clearest chance was headed straight to Ridgers. It is great to be on a good home run, with 6 wins in 6, and there is confidence through the team. Four clean sheets on the spin in the League too There is much less long ball play this season, with a lot of the goal kicks being played short to Donaldson, McCart, Welsh or Vincent. We are a much better team when Welsh plays. The first was a great strike from Welsh, and the second an equally good strike from Walsh after powerful wide play by Rooney. Welsh then had a great free kick saved in the postage stamp corner. Second half was poorer, but White just couldn’t control a rebound after a great shot from Walsh (?), Storey had a great chance when he cut in from the right but got no power behind his shot and McCart hit the post. Ridgers had a comfortable afternoon with really just one save. Rooney is a much improved player this season. Tremarco did all that was asked of him and was unlucky not to control the ball properly when set up nicely in attack early on. Donaldson and McCart did well too. Welsh was immense and Vincent did well alongside him. The sponsors made him man of the match. Doran and Walsh were busy and they and Storey interchanged a lot to mix things up. White had a not bad game, despite the miss, and got the full 90, given Todorov replaced Storey this week. Carson did fine when Welsh got a deserved breather late on. Sadly there were only 1760 there to see it. Very poor! Partick next week will probably be against a team with a new Manager. Hopefully we can keep our run going, but no room for complacency.

  11. Good all round performance in a game in which we never looked like losing. Should have been four or five nil but I'll take the two nil any day

  12. Two fantastic strikes by Welsh and then Walsh. Could have been a few more as Queens goalkeeper kept the score down. Queens huffed and puffed but didn't create many chances. Job done. ?

  13. Yes and no. Their attacks weren't very edge of seat attacks. But we were just gash towards the end of the second half. WHY THE FECK DIDNT ROONEY JUST SHOOOOOT MUN.

  17. Welsh sits no matter what, imo he's far better there and can control the midfield more. Doran doesn't have the legs to sit in the middle anymore and if he needs a rest or a breather it's not as noticable when he's in his normal wide position. Storey for Keatings is the obvious choice and hopefully he'll add drive to the attack from the middle and be a perfect runner off/behind White

  18. Here’s to an enjoyable afternoon in the sun! Hopefully Welsh starts today. Will be interesting to see the front four. Will Storey play the Keatings role or wide? I’d give MacGregor a chance in the Keatings role, but suspect he will be on the bench. Roll on 1500!!

  22. There is allegedly a rumour, among some County fans, that Uncle Roy is now also putting money into ICT. Something to do with him divorcing his wife and her wanting half his fortune. I have no idea as to the validity of this.....im merely relaying what i heard.

  24. Hey folks, happy to confirm that we'll be broadcasting free live audio commentary of Saturday's game. It'll be the same process as before, using a periscope link that will go up on the club's Twitter feed shortly before kickoff. Hopefully it'll be a good listen and a good result!

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
