  1. To be frank, there has been a lot of uncalled for negativety on this result. Had it not been for one minute of poor play, we would all have been celebrating being top of the league. Even after losing the equaliser, we almost won the game with Keating's free kick but luck didn't go for us. In essence, while we did not play particularly well, we still came so close to winning and if you can play badly and win you have a good chance of winning things. That said, midfield needs changing and it showed how much we missed Welsh. Vincent and Trafford were poor but especially Vincent who hardly passed forward all day and, again, failed to win or make a tackle all day while Trafford's tackling was beyond poor. When your central midfield fails to function, you will struggle in games. Final word on the referee who was the poorest we have had this season, and that is saying something. Inconsistent on giving fouls for similar offences, didn't give a blatant foul/penalty on White, ridiculous booking of Carson and how he and the linesman missed the blatant pull on Doran as he was racing through was incredible.

  2. I thought McGregor was the one bright spot today. He was always looking for the ball and looked our most dangerous attacker in my opinion. James Vincent on the other hand needs to know that it's ok to pass the ball forward. So many backways and sideways passes when we had the chance to move forward.

  3. All been said. We simply are not able to play out a game so we either need to train in that area of weakness or stop trying surely? To carry on doing the same thing without the appropriate game plan is absolute feckin madness.

  4. Extremely poor performance today despite considerable effort to rectify the loss of the early goal. Carl surprised everyone with his finish including himself. In days gone by he has scored a few for us but that was his finest. If there is one lesson we should have learned again today - do not underestimate the diddy teams. After last weeks cup result the team probably thought they had an easyish game especially with Flannigan suspended. Hopefully lesson learned. We do not want to go up the table and then be unable to sustain it. We actually made progress today. If the team do not get over confident next week after two previous positive results against Morton this season then hard work and a good result will keep us up with Ayr and United and ahead of Dundee.

  5. No way is Storey our best forward! Too many wayward passes, too many bad decisions, could have been subbed but....... should of doesn’t equate to what he brings to our team. I think we had his best days in his first term at ICT and has yet to show that he still has his “magic hat”. Come on Miles, show us your true calibre - soon, please.

  6. Quite incredible that we didn't win that game today yet at the same time it would have been quite incredible had we actually won it because we were absolutely dreadful. Really well worked goal for Alloa after only a few minutes. Some neat build up play down the ICT right saw the ball worked into the feet of Buchanan and quick as a flash he dispatched a curling shot past a static Ridgers into the net. We were almost back in it when a Storey cross, the one good cross he put in all day, found MacGregor only a few yards out but his header was right at MacDonald and he pushed the youngsters effort away from danger. Most of the first half was ICT struggling to create anything of note whilst Alloa defended in numbers and presumably pissing themselves at how bad our attacking play was. Second half was basically an overload exercise as ICT went forward time and time again but with precious little to show until Tremarco latched onto a loose ball from his own corner which had only been partially cleared and he sent a glorious shot into the top corner of the net. Five minutes from the end it looked like we were heading for the top of the league when Tremarco crossed for White to bundle in a header from close range (similar to his goal v Partick) and that was surely going to be it. At least it was until McCart had another brain fart and dallied on the ball when defending and instead of sending it back to Ridgers or clearing it up the pitch he played it out for a throw in. The following long throw was flicked on and Trouten stole in at the back post with Curry asleep to grab a deserved share of the points for Alloa. Donaldson and McCart were really poor today. Despite not being put under much pressure their balls out of defence were absolutely rotten, Donaldson especially, and often set up chances for Alloa to break on us. Storey was poor again and had one decent cross from the flanks. He isn't a winger and struggled there at Partick so why we are persisting with him there is bizarre. MacGregor struggled to create much of note in the middle as Alloa packed the midfield and sat deep. There was zero creativity in the ICT side today to break them down and it would have been very harsh, though thoroughly pleasing, had we won that game. With Queens getting a superb result today and Morton possessing an excellent home record the next couple of games are going to be a lot more difficult than they might appear on paper.

  7. Reality check needed? I understand the frustration at lack of concentration to hold out the last 5 minutes for the win (cold and tired perhaps, I would be) but despite everything we are 3rd just 1 point off the top! This is a ruddy tough league with everyone capable of taking points off everybody else, bet the Ayr and Arab fans are a bit more p'd off than we are...

  8. I've been his biggest fan but all Jamie McCart had to do was pass the ball back to Mark Ridgers. Why he decided to try and dummy the attacker and play it down the line was stupidity. His touch was poor and he gives away a needless throw in which we don't defend properly. Kind of summed up the game.

  9. 20,000pounds? A miniscule reward? No! Any sum of money now should be music to the ears of the bankers of ICT. Beggars can't be choosers and overdrafts have a tendency to get larger and larger....unless the interest is paid each month and the deficit is cut even a wee bit. So, if that sum cuts deeply into the accumulated interest then IMHO, that's great news. And the fame of our team winning again cannot be underestimated , especially to the fans who hitherto have not exactly been coming to the Caley park in droves.

  10. Get yer Dad a bottle of Pomagne, a bottle of Four Crown and 10 Woodbines - give it to him with "Under The Moon of Love " by Showaddywaddy blaring away in the background - What about a Photoshop outside the ground ? (Worked fer me) - And you could frame it and get it signed by some of the old Caley Legends, a few who still go to games. Oh and I could organize a signed Davy Milroy Dart Board.

  13. Jamie McCart can hang his head in shame for cocking up at the Alloa goal. He should have passed back to Ridgers and we would still be top of the league. Pissed off at this poor decision making.

  14. Given results elsewhere it was another missed opportunity today. Very similar performance to that of the home game against Partick Thistle. Passing was always sideways and backwards. Just before the Alloa first goal we were in an attacking position by the corner flag yet proceeded to pass the ball all the way back to Ridgers, then kicked the ball long, lost possession, Alloa went up the park and scored! Second half we somehow managed to get ourselves in front (thanks for the Tremarco wonder strike), and then throw away two points by non existent defending at a long throw!! Yes mccart made the wrong decision in not passing the ball to Ridgers but we simply did not defend the throw. In truth though, on that performance, we did not deserve to win the game. It's been suggested above that we should try storey up front instead of playing him wide. His strength is his pace running onto through balls, but we just don't make any through passes that he could run onto! I hope that might change now with Keatings back from injury? Bit disappointed personally to hear the announcer call a substitution for "caley" second half. 25 years celebrations indeed!!! ?

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
