  1. For me it was earlier that game and the Tansey penalty. The gamesmanship and Celtic taking 5 mins to sub the goalie and resume the game. For him to stand there in front of 30k odd baying celtic fans before tucking it away and starting out comeback. Hand of meekings was glorious too along with this minter

  2. The best bit will always be David Ravens goal v Celtic in the Scottish Cup Semi Final. These memories even eclipse going to Bucharest and seeing ICT fans in the street and on sightseeing bus - wonderful days.

  3. The 2015 semi was class. That match had it all. Those were the days.

  4. Thanks. Maybe you could break that down into how many games they played and which league (as level of competition is an indicator too) then perhaps in a matrix use it to define who was the best as I doubt any would say he was our 3rd 'best'? Its hard to say he's ahead of many if any of the below who I'm pretty sure would have cigarred this league. Rooney, Mckay, Foran, Christie, Ofere, Fisher, Oakley

  5. Party at Ayr 2010. If you werent there then you missed the best day out ever including the sermon in the stand. Oh and 7 different scorers! Another memorable day out was the 3-3 Cup derby over the bridge. (?2012) The one where Foran scored with his nose when they thought they had us....lol

  6. easy one for me .... despite the fact we got relegated on that day !!! It was May 20th 2017, the final game of the season against Motherwell (3-2 win). Our relegation didn't happen that day, it was the result of a long bad season .... So why was it my favourite moment ? It was because my little guy was mascot and walked out onto the park with his favourite ICT player at the time - David Raven. He had left Toronto a couple of weeks earlier with his 3 favourite players being Sebastian Giovinco, Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore .... by the time he went back to Toronto (with a bunch of signed merchandise) it was David Raven, Jake Mulraney and Gary Warren ! As mascot he also got a pre-game tour of the stadium and the boardroom courtesy of @davie and also got to take part in a training session with the players (and other kids) a week or two earlier courtesy of a few folk who said we could come along. I credit this trip home for cementing his love of football. He had been to a couple of Toronto FC games with me before that, but now he wants to go to them all, and he also loves going to TFC Juniors training every week ... hoping to emulate one of his Inverness friends who is now in the ICT youth system. My job as a dad - steering him away from ice hockey, baseball and the pointy ball game they like to pretend is called football - is complete. He is hooked ?

  9. That result brings mixed emotions for me - I’d put a bet on us winning 6-0!

  10. And another one. The day we put seven past Ayr ( 2010) ; the icing on the cake of a promotion season;the pub before ( The Ship?); the pipes; the mass pitch invasion; IHE abseiling from the stands .......maybe I imagined that; balloons everywhere; Butchers speech; the shoes;............and the bookies had us at 5/4 that day. Now that was a day out

  13. Strange game. It was pretty comfortable but we needed Ridgers to bail us out a few times. Thought Coll and Jamie did well, Keatings started brightly, Doran was hungry and Trafford/Carson battled away well. Our style seems to have changed somewhat. Last season when white was on good form, we were playing direct to White to hold up and Walsh, Doran and Polworth were making runs beyond him. Now it seems with both Carson/Trafford sitting that Rooney and mchattie push up high meaning Doran storey will play a bit narrower. Means more intricate play centrally which suits Keatings but not White. Might be worth trying someone else up top if we continue this style.

  14. About time storey for a chance through the middle not sure why managers persist playing him on the wingwhen his greatest success period with goals was up top using his pace to get in behind. For some reason white is always first pick as a striker but he can't jump or head the ball which given his size is poor use of his potential.

  16. Tough one really...either my first ever game. 1 May 2010 against Dundee in the First Division, last day of the season and mass pitch invasion at full time. Or our European Debut against Astra Giurgiu...still quite disappointed I couldn't go to the away leg, but at 14, there's not a lot I could've done ? An honourable mention was the beating C*unty in the Quarters last season (all the more entertaining when they celebrated it being "saved" but then their realization when it brushed the fingertips and went in)

  18. I enjoyed the game yesterday. We never really looked troubled and even the two Nisbet chances didn't have me covering my eyes expecting the worst. Felt we had another gear to shift up to if needed and that the squad were playing well within themselves. Don't think anyone had a bad game. Sure, it would have been nice to see more from some; but I don't think anyone could be accused of not trying and if a player isn't good enough, then that falls to the manager to either replace them and/or find a system that plays better to the squads strengths. I came close to overriding the man of the match choice and announcing it as Ridgers ? Merry Xmas.

  21. Bear in mind that the figures presented at the AGM on Thursday are for the financial year which ended on 31st May and therefore they relate to the activity last season and not this. It is true that the operating loss last year was similar to the previous year but it is important to note that the concerns raised by the Auditors in the report for the previous year about the club operating as a going concern have been been removed this year. And since the end of the last financial year the club has been making some progress on identifying additional sources of income whilst containing costs. That indicates a significant improvement from where we were a couple of years ago. I'm afraid financial balance sheets make little sense to me, but there were a number of former club directors there on Thursday and others with experience of these things and nobody raised any concerns or felt the need too ask questions about the current financial situation. It seems to me therefore, that there is a general consensus that whilst our financial situation remains difficult, we are moving in the right direction. When he spoke, CEO Scot Gardiner was at pains to point out that the single thing that would make the biggest improvement to our finances would be a return to the Premiership and there is a focus to achieve that. However, I get the sense that whilst that might be true, there is also a pragmatism in place to ensure that we remain financially viable should we fail to regain our Premiership status.

  23. GRANVILLE, TOICH AND WILLIAM BELL PRODUCTIONS PROUDLY PRESENT FROM THE CULLICUDDEN COLLISEUM THE CTO FESTIVE FIVES 2019 (THE DOUGAL APPRECIATION CUP) THE GRAND FINAL LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE v THE YOUNG ONES Both teams are wearing special tops for the final – Last of the Summer Wine are sponsored by Tulloch Homes and the Young Ones by the Orion Group. A special request has been made by GTWB Productions and the “Young Ones” have kindly conceded to allow both teams to play their full squads from the onset. This means that Last of the Summer Line will line up as: IBM, Caley Mad in Berks, Old Caley Girl, Lizi, Mantis and Naelifts. The Young Ones will line up as: IHE, Buster, Jack Waddington, Satan and Alan Simpson. As they do in Love Island it is rumoured that a special guest is flying in to play for the Young Ones in the first half. The good news is that both Naelifts and Alan Simpson have both passed their soft bustard tests. Another Wyness Shuffle Podcast earlier today revealed that all the Young Ones have aspirations to follow in the footsteps of their “Winers” opponents. Buster wants to be a Paramedic musician like Naelifts; Jack Waddington wants to be a teacher like Mantis; Satan wants to be a District Nurse like OCG; Alan Simpson wants to be as positive as Lizi and learn how to bake buns instead of puns; IHE wants to be an Old Git like IBM and CMIB. And what pre-final entertainment we have enjoyed. TM4TJ has brought along his band – ZZ Top – and the Black Isle is booming to “Gimme all your Lovin”. And the stadium has erupted as David Raven and the 2015 squad have performed “We are the Champions”. And would you believe it – the kick off has been delayed – there is a female streaker on the pitch. We are informed that it is a Forum “lurker” called Rosemary Webb. She seems to have the word PORT scrawled on her buttocks. No hang on – she has turned round fully and it now appears to read PORTMAHOMACK. And Stirling Observer blows the whistle and the final commences. It is 100 mph from the start which is probably twice as fast as IBM has ever driven. This is beginning to look as if it will be a midfield battle. We have the Satan/Waddington combination and the Mantis/Old Caley Girl combination trying to feed their respective dangermen – Simpson and Naelifts. And it is Last of the Summer Wine who take initial control. OCG and Mantis combine to put Naelifts in on goal but he is thwarted by an agile and effervescent IHE. And the controversy reigns again as Lizi clashes with Alan Simpson. There has been bad blood between these two for some time. This time Lizi escapes the award of a red dot but gets a yellow instead. But after a VER check Alan is also given a yellow for intimidation. And the first goal of the final comes along. Mantis fires in a corner and the ball is headed into the net. The identity of the scorer in the melee is unclear. VER shows that it is a napper with receding grey hair. Well that doesn’t feckin narrow it down much. But there is only one true Grecian on the pitch and the goal is awarded to CALEY MAD IN BERKS. David Sutherland gesticulates to Alan Savage. Alas just on the whistle IHE has collapsed and is stretchered off. HALF TIME – LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1 THE YOUNG ONES 0 There is a hive of activity during the break. RIG is advertising and heralding “half season tickets”. Robbo is pleading for buyers and Caley Tennis advises him to be positive. And the stadium erupts as the dancing girls explode on to the pitch. OMG it’s the infamous “Keg Kickers”. Well the whole stadium needs to cool down after that performance. The best I have witnessed since the “Rolly Pollies”. Julie Wilson takes a selfie with all 20,000 fans – individually. Deep breaths and back to the final. IHE sprints out. Naelifts has inserted an IV line and mixed the saline drip with Smirnoff and “Hey Presto” or “Vindecat” as they say in Bucharest. And as the teams enter the pitch the Young Ones have an extra player. WTF – How does Donview qualify as a Young One ? Aah it is becos he is yet another role model – OK. The second half begins as the last words of “One Step Beyond” fades away. But from the kick off Buster goes beserk. He picks up the ball, goes on an amazing solo run and smacks a 30 yard bender into the back of the net. So if you come off the street, and you are beginning to feel the heat, well listen Buster, you’d better start to use your feet”and BUSTER did. Unfortunately it appears that the tiring “Winers” have decided to park the “bathtub” and soak up the pressure. And it appears to be working as the clock runs down to the final minute. BUT there is an old adage. And yet again the prophecy comes true. IHE collapses again and the final whistle goes. Penalties to decide? No that is not going to happen. WTF. Both teams have gone into a group huddle in the centre circle. Lizi has passed around some buns. And they emerge to announce that they have decided to share the trophy. The crowd stand up to a person and applaud the decision. So the Dougal Appreciation Cup will be kept by both teams for six months each. But the valuable “trophy” is dropped and breaks in half. The Last of the Summer Wine agree to take the rear remains as their memories are of Dougal talking out of that end anyway. FULL TIME – LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 1 THE YOUNG ONES 1

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
