  1. All we want now is for Ryan to be sold to an English Premiership side in January and for the finances of the club to be strengthened. That was a polished performance last night. Kai is great to watch. Roddy must now stay grounded - his goal was top class. Harper is a competent replacement for Carl. The key was playing as a team. Deas and Divine both had very competent performances. Storey may be re-discovering himself. Keatings is pretty confident too. Who would have thought ICT would shine in pink!!!

  2. Well, that was a joy to watch. There was a little too much last-ditch defending for my liking at 1-0, but we were the better team in the first half and absolutely turned the screw in the second. According to the BBC, QOS didn't even have a shot on target. I particularly love the way the forwards are swapping positions and causing havoc with their movement. It was the same against Raith and is a sign of a very well-coached team, I think. It was also clear that we had a plan for how we we could hurt QOS, so more kudos to Robbo. Its unreal to think Kennedy and MacGregor are still only 18. Hopefully the amount of action Kennedy is getting will convince Rangers to let us keep him past January because he is some winger. Putting a 36 year old emergency full-back up against him just seemed cruel. I thought last season was too early for MacGregor but he clearly belongs now. That finish was stunning, especially given the ball sat up in front of him. Great stuff lads. Bring on Dundee!

  3. I think Kennedy is a breath of fresh air a real crowd pleaser you can't keep player's like that in check

  4. I can add little to what has been said. A great performance from a largely young and inexperienced squad. For those that were grumbling about Robbo after the Betrfed Cup and losses to Hearts and The Pars, just who else could do better with the resources at his disposal ? Robbo took us up to the top division once before and is well placed to do so again. After watching that display, it could even well be this season.

  5. Crowd pleasers are all very well but we can't afford that luxury just now. The lad clearly has talent, cutting out the show boating will benefit both him and us for as long as he is pulling on our shirt.

  6. Really impressed by this team performance. The off the ball harrying and closing down by the team is excellent and they add to that by lightning quick breaks. Some of the one touch stuff was brilliant. So good to see players looking for the ball and moving into space. The number of times Allardice is able to intercept and break up attacks is excellent and the basis for so many of the breaks up the field. Great to have Kennedy who now demands the thoughts of two defenders every time freeing up room for others. Devine had a great game as well. All 3 goals were crackers and on another night it could have been 5! Magic for the young lads to get this opportunity and to take it on national TV. Will have turned a few southern heads!

  7. What a fabulous uplifting win. Great performances right throughout the team. The youngsters are really coming to the fore. Roddy MacGregor deserved MotM. Onwards and upwards.

  8. I know this is aimed at me so I'm going to give credit where credit is due. It seems that the injuries hampered us more than I thought but now the guys are back (with more to return) we look a completely different team :). Kai Kennedy was sensational tonight, hopefully his loan gets extended until the end of the season. Imho, not one failure out on that pitch tonight, or in the dugout -P. Queens were dire though, they look like contenders for relegation let alone play offs, which is where Jonathan Sutherland thinks they will be looking towards. Fantastic night, hopefully Scotland do the business tomorrow to make my weekend even more fantastic

  9. Best ICT performance I have seen for ages : created lots of chances, good closing down / winning possession back and lots more. Keep playing like that and 2nd is the lowest we'll finish.

  10. Great shot. If you view it full size you can see @tm4tj playing darts.

  11. Yes. Very good. Agree with Mantis that Kennedy was starting to annoy me with his tricks and selfishness before he got pulled. He must stay grounded. Many reasons to be uplifted by that performance but we need a goal scorer and, let's be honest, QoS were awful

  12. Couldn’t agree more. Some of the quick passing was great to see. Dundee will be a stiffer test although they’re not firing too well either. Need to see what happens in the return games with Pars and Hearts before getting carried away. Let’s face it, QoS are hopeless and Johnston appeared like a manager just waiting for the sack. Nice to see Father Jack making a guest appearance at half time though. Robbo continues to perform miracles by building a new side every season. Although Kennedy is an outstanding talent I was glad to see Robbo take him off as he was starting to showboat. For that reason I was picking Roddy as MoM so not sure whether it’s a good or a bad thing to find Billy Dodds agreeing. Still have mixed feelings about Storey. At least without White we’re trying to play it on the deck and his sheer pace just panics defenders. A finisher with a bit of composure would have had 4 though. I was excited when we signed Keatings but although he’s mucked in I’m still a bit underwhelmed. Toddy likewise. Not slagging off Devine but he had a couple of mistakes and so I thought Deas had a better game. Devine is a decent leader on the park though. Defensively we’ve looked very composed and solid this season which is in complete contrast to what many of us expected. We’ve got carried away before only to find injuries, suspensions, egos and defensive howlers destroying our season (C*ll D*n*lds*n anyone? ) but it’s refreshing to see ICT playing attractive attacking football for the first time since... searches memory banks...

  13. Got you now! You're in the Merkinch Nature Reserve again, and that railway bridge is just to the east of where the line crosses the canal.

  14. Watched it on BBC Scotland with my wife, really enjoyed it. I said earlier in the season that with so many changes and injuries, the team needed a bit of time to gel, and they certainly look that way now. Who would have thought that a midfield two of MacGregor and Allardice would look so strong, and to think we have options of Welsh, Vincent and Carson (when fit) bodes well for the rest of the season. Defensively looking pretty good too, Harper is really impressing me, I think he made only one mistake, Deas is class and Devine is settling in. Brad did little wrong yesterday, but I'd like to see someone similar to Harper on the right in the long term. Robinson seems to have hit on a good format up front, Sutherland is a quietly effective player who seems to be rotating between right wing and further forward through the game with Storey and its working. I think Keatings is probably the cleverest of the lot, but his final goes awry sometimes. Kennedy really is a bonus for us this season, fair play to those who got him in and to the player himself, who works constantly. The key to our season maybe be whether we can extend his loan in January, as it also benefits us that Doran dosn't have to be used continuously (with his injury record). I think MOTM went deservedly to MacGregor, but he had a few guys on his coat tails especially Deas and Kennedy Have to say that I much prefer watching Caley at the moment, than my English team Palace, who have been coached into relentlessly boring and defensive football by Hodgson despite have some great offensive talent....I wonder how well Robbo would do down here!

  15. While I was watching the football, my wife was watching a live stream of Scooty and the Skyhooks from the Ironworks in aid of the Highland Hospice. We have rewound it and are watching it again and it is a great gig and well worth watching, not just as they are Caley Thistle fans. It is on You Tube and Facebook under “Party at your place” for Highland Hospice Christmas party nights. There are events on the next two Fridays too, but if you can find tonight’s and donate I’m sure the Hospice will be very grateful and you will enjoy it. It is really rounding off one of my most enjoyable days since this virus disrupted all our lives!

  16. What a tonic this match is. Robbo is a genius at working on a shoestring. Some fantastic individual performances, especially the young lads. But what I find most pleasing is the way they have played as a team, confidently passing and moving together. Looking forward to how this season plays out now. If we can build on this and keep these lads, we can do something sweet.

  17. I'm genuinely confused, and quite frankly, pissed off. How come down south from the National League all the way up to the Premier League, teams can (effectively) throw open their doors and have about 2000 odd in attendance, meanwhile here, in the least densely populated county, where we (if I remember correctly) have barely scraped 100 cases and they've all been so miniscule that they've been told they can go home to sleep it off, we are stuck with 300 fans. Think Nicola needs to do some work with the lockdown system, as all I can see this as is a punishment for doing nothing, like we're that one quiet kid in class missing break time cos the rest of the class were arseing about. Not saying that away games should be back on the cards, but considering the amount of cases, and lack thereof of people being hospitalised/dying of the virus, restrictions need to be loosened up for us. EDIT: Might sound a bit daft saying it now, turns out I have been successful in the ballot. Either way, my point still stands, the headlock we're in needs to be loosened

  18. Obviously some fans have replied that they cannot attend, or just not replied by the time requested, as I have received an email timed 16.38 saying I have been selected in the ballot and to reply by Sunday. Needless to say I have replied by return and am so chuffed. Now to took out my rattle and thermals.

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
