  1. Fair dos all round. Prompt action/decent solution/great communication. Good luck all. Anyone grumbling about this needs to have a look at themselves in my opinion.

  2. Doesn't matter whether we rate him or not ... does he have his UEFA badges? Club licensing requires the manager to have reached a certain level of licensing qualification and Neil McCann is licensed up to (the highest) UEFA PRO level which qualifies him to not only manage in the topflight of any country but also to be an international manager if that was his wish. I am not sure what badges Barry or Ryan have but if its UEFA B for example then they can't take charge of the club on a permanent or semi-permanent basis. An interim manager would be classed as semi-permanent due to there being no defined end date.

  3. This is what fans expect and want. Clear information to explain decisions. Obviously not the day to day things but the big stuff or the stuff that impacts directly onto the fans. Fans can be an understanding bunch if kept informed. Fans can speculate wildly and become easily frustrated (particularly alongside poor results) when not informed/brushed aside. As an aside. Iain Auld made a big difference to the commentary on Tues. The bare minimum we should be given is someone who knows out players and the game. Not a dig at Bannerman who I'm sure is doing his best but the club should have realised they messed up the appointment and should have supported him much sooner (better late than never I guess). It seems a crescendo of complaints may have forced an issue which was glaringly obvious from the get go.

  4. I got my tickets yesterday, and letter, all signed by Robbo, and I have to say, in his current circumstances, I am rather in awe of the man, and a tad emotional about it too. I hope he is getting the support he needs now and comes back when the time is right, because it's been such a difficult year.....it would be helpful if Hearts rolled over for us tomorrow as well, or at least share the points.

  7. really hope Robbo is doing ok. I normally think of myself as a ‘soldier on nothing will get me down’ kind of person but these last few months have been awful. By the sounds of it Robbo had it much worse than most of us. I think this is a great appointment. Although the guys who were there (barry and ESS) could easily have taken the club along, just think of the ‘new manager bounce’ that helps so many teams. Everyone knows Neil, Neil knows the scottish game inside out. Can you imagine the kick it’s going to give the players - they’ve got to prove themselves again to a man that is known not to enjoy the company of ‘slackers’. I’m excited.

  8. Comes across well and is basically doing this as a favour to two friends (Scot Gardiner and Robbo). At pains to explain he is not interested in Robbo's job, just wants to keep the seat warm, and that he only took it on after speaking to Robbo. For me that interview pretty much ticks all the boxes in terms of doing things right and having the right attitude about it .... lets hope now that he can get a few points on the board. With Kells gone for now and Robbo obviously having a hard time of it recently - having mentioned mental health issues and now a bereavement - perhaps the eye was indeed off the ball and what we saw as bad performances were precipitated by this turmoil. If Robbo can focus on himself, and Scott can get better soon while NM steadies the ship and works with Barry and Ryan to get some decent result then its a win for all concerned

  9. as an interim appointment it has to be someone the ceo and robbo are happy with. i didnt expect him either with his tv commitments so fair play to him. i assume barry didnt want the job. to me it seems a logical appointment and someone who is likely to want to attack and knows scottish football. if kettlewell is still in the area then i would have thought that the most logical. some "fans" need to waken up, give the guy a chance. we struggle to get players to come here to play for us, most of the strikers we have had have received dogs abuse.

  10. He comes across very well here, very aware of the sensitivity of the situation and its reassuring to hear that he didn't want to do anything until he could speak to Robbo first. A little moral integrity doesn't do any harm. Best of luck to him and let's hope he can drag us into the (right) play offs.

  11. Given everything in AS's submission to the Committee which cites Aberdein and his trial evidence, and confirms Nicola lied to the Scottish Parliament has been redacted......we are still on course for the whitewash of the SG's actions they have been frantically working towards, as AS can't speak to anything the Committee hasn't published... because if it hasn't been published by the Committee, the evidence is not deemed to exist, however many times it appears on the internet in other places. Nothing to do with protecting "vulnerable women" as far as I can see, (having a copy of both the submission and the SG redacted version)....much more to do with protecting Nicola. I noted with interest that the FM who has previously refused to answer non-covid oriented questions at Covid Briefings was quite happy to use yesterday's Covid Briefing to say regarding AS that he was “Found not guilty but that doesn’t mean the behaviour they complained of didn’t happen” and also pretty much said that AS wants to make claims without ever subjecting them to the proper scrutiny of the inquiry..when she knows damn well that anything which could finger her in any dubious actions has been removed from that scrutiny altogether. The whole "inquiry" is a farce for show, with the outcome, as far as I can see, decided in advance, given that, as far as Nicola is concerned, "co-operating fully" with the inquiry into the SG's handling of the allegations against AS has translated into between 58 and 71 separate obstructions to the work of that committee. What is she trying to hide?

  12. Well I don't know if you noticed but he has been working with Robbo for quite some time. He has experience at Elgin and Wick. Experience both good and bad is valid. Robbo has had successes and failures but look at the manager he is for us. He has the shared experience of Ryan and Charlie to draw upon. When you listen to him in interviews after games he is usually spot on in his assessment. I rate him and see his potential. Our club is great at bringing the best out of people who have been thrown on the scrap heap. We do it for players so why not for managerial staff? Or shall we say they are crap? Be all doom and gloom? Sometimes I think certain people on this forum want the club to fail because it suits their stupid 25 year old agenda's that they can't let go of.

  16. On what basis ? Barry although a great player has no credentials what so ever in a managerial capacity -stints at Elgin & Wick are testimony to this. One loanee even described him as clueless !!!

  17. Yes it would be brilliant for him and us if we could get 6 points from these games!

  18. I appreciate that every penny is a prisoner right now but it now looks like this initiative will provide us with a windfall unexpected and not budgeted for in the region of £100,000 I wonder whether, in the circumstances the club might want to consider donating a small portion of it, perhaps 10%, to maybe be split between a mental health charity in Inverness and a similar organisation in Edinburgh?

  19. He wasn't one that I would have thought about coming in to cover but after hearing that interview and with him knowing the CEO and Robbo it does make sense and he is keen to come here to help out. Good luck to Neil and the team, lets hope for a good start on Friday night.

  21. I'm happy with this appointment. It's like a typical ICT signing, a guy who has faltered a bit elsewhere and comes in with a bit of a point to prove. He's got a very good knowledge of Scottish football and seems to have a bit of authority about him. Really looking forward to see how this goes.

  22. Given the position with Robbo and Kells, the club clearly sees that we need someone in, probably for the rest of the season but possibly longer, who knows. As it is not a permanent job, I think it is remarkable we have attracted anyone who had ongoing work elsewhere, so it implies that McCann sees this as an opportunity to prove himself and secure a managerial role somewhere. The club is in a difficult place right now, so I believe we should all be getting behind the club and McCann, regardless of how we view his appointment. At the very least, he deserves the next month or so to show what he can do before anyone judges him. We have two hard games against Dundee and Hearts in the next week, then the dreaded Alloa away, so we need to accept that we may not get an immediate “bounce” from this. We also seem short of players again due to injuries, with six missing out last night. That doesn’t help. This whole episode should remind us all that there are more important things than football.

  24. To Admin,You may class me a happy clapper although I’m quite possibly the furthest from one that you are ever likely to meet .Actually sarcasm is the lowest form of wit ! I am well aware what the forum is for and that was the reason for my comment .... My feelings are the man has kindly given up a comfortable life in the middle of a pandemic to help us .His feet aren’t in the door and the comments on here are quite disrespectful . I apologise if anyone is offended by my comment but under the circumstances people really need to think how hurtful these comments can be all round . I’ve made my point I will not be commenting further on this but just to wish Neil and the team well and Condolences to John and family and look forward to him coming back feeling much better .when able to do so .

  25. What kind of fans do we have ? It’s embarrassing reading some of the comments on here . A man is willing to give up a steady position to help us in our hour of need and this is how we thank him . I know the majority of fans will appreciate what he is doing and get behind him .I just hope he’s not reading these nasty negative comments and wants to put his coat on and head back down the road ......WHY IS ADMIN ALLOWING IT ?

  26. The club has to be commended in taking prompt and decisive action in extremely difficult circumstances. Firstly and most importantly protecting the health of all staff. Then to support the team by bringing in an experienced interim manager. As supporters we would do well now to get behind both the management team and the players to achieve as high a league finish as possible. Keep safe and keep positive...

  27. I know I'm one to talk so feel free to slate me, probably not what mods want to hear (and not because it will lead to me losing the rag though) because it could lead to this thread going way off topic. Some of the comments I've seen on here, Facebook and Twitter are actually laughable. The guy hasn't had a match yet and some are saying its a disaster, which is wrong because Neil is a well respected sky pundit who knows what he's talking about. Yes his record at Dens wasn't good but we have had many failures of other clubs managers come here and do well. It's only interim anyway so let's all back him and hope he does well, he's just left a role as Rangers TV pundit to come up here to put himself back in the shop window. I would have preferred Gary Naysmith myself but I'm happy to give Neil my 100% backing. I look forward to hearing what he has to say in his first interview in a few hours.

  28. Like everyone, zi have no idea how long this appointment might last but give the man a chance and, at the very least stop making snide comments about the clubs he has played for. This is not poisonous west central Scotland. Mercifully, such things are irrelevant to the great majority of us here. McCann has been around the Scottish football scene, one way or another most of his life. He is fresh to the club and may bring a different insight. He must certainly isn't coming for the money or the glamour of managing ICT. There is no doubt that his only other spell as a manager ended badly but that was some time ago now and as a clearly intelligent man, he will have had time to reflect on where he went wrong and will be keen to demonstrate that he is better than that. We still have an outside chance of securing a play off spot. Time to unite and get behind the team and the interim manager who deserves our thanks for coming to our aid at such a difficult time whilst giving up, at least temporarily, what must be a less stressful and probably better paid media job.

  30. So tragic death in a well respected manager's family, a coach seriously ill, people dying from covid-19 and you think McCann's appointment is the worse thing that has happened. Unbelievable that you could post that, think on. Wow.....Just when you think comments cant get any worse

  32. I agree. There are certainly very serious financial constraints but someone finding the time to sit down 2 or 3 times a week to respond to queries and concerns costs nothing and would restore a lot of the goodwill and support which the fans have demonstrated in abundance.

  33. we honestly don't deserve Neil McCann based on some comments, he has come to help us out, possibly a mate of JRs, and given up lucrative tv gig, probably paying him peanuts. Shower of D1cks, lets give him the usual ICT welcome and hound him out,

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...

Big Trouble Down the Dump: Billy Mckay was back in the starting XI along with Samson Lawal with Pepple dropping to the bench and Shaw out for the season. Both teams had seven on the bench with Roddy MacGregor getting a rare seat. Scott Robinson scored the only goal of the game just before the break. Inverness were reduced to ten men when Cammy Kerr was sent off just after an hour. Despite creating more opportunities, the points just evaded us.

      Meh!
