  1. Mine will be renewed, in eternal hope of better season(s) ahead. Football clubs are for life, not just Christmas.

  2. I've waited almost 24 hours before commenting on the abject performance I witnessed last night. Without a doubt I would rate it the worst performance I have seen from ICT, either live or on TV , since we came into being. I can hardly believe how far we have fallen in such a short time. 2nd in the division last season (and unlucky not to get a shot at promotion through the play-offs), to 2nd bottom now and in real danger of relegation. What on earth has gone wrong? I know we lost a few players, and have had our share of injuries, but our squad should still be strong enough to see off the likes of Morton, Alloa, Arbroath, without too much trouble. We clearly lack a consistent goal scorer (have done for a good while imo), and as others have said, we have no clear leadership on the pitch. I've never been a fan of goalkeepers being captain, but who could do it? Perhaps Carson, but imo he seems to be a red card waiting to happen in most games. We just don't create enough good chances. No creativity which perhaps Doran could supply (but tbh I think he is probably past his best, even on the rare occasions he is fit enough to play). Too often our midfield will take the easy option of a back pass from a good position, instead of seeking the decisive, defence breaking pass. Also, I have my heart in my mouth when we try to play out from the back with the tippy tappy stuff. It rarely is effective for us. Anyway, rant over for now. I will still support ICT through thick and thin. They have given me the best football experiences of my life (eg 2015), and no matter what division we play in, they will always be 'my team'. Here's hoping for some more 'good times' soon.

  3. The Scottish Cup is the least of our worries.

  4. Defensively, the record isn't too bad but if you don't score, or can't score, one goal beats you, as tonight. And if there was one thing for certain about the Pele years, whether we played Celtic or Cowdenbeath, win or lose, we didn't often not score.

  5. I will try and scrape enough from my pension to renew mine I do hope we are able to get back to the stadium for the start of the season rather than watch online!

  6. Caley mad i agree with all you have said, The other thing i feel i have to bring to your post is that we have a lack of pace in midfield, Only Storey has that ability and most of the time he runs himself into knots! Doran has lost a lot of his skills due to his continuing lack of game time and is not really able to give us that wee bit extra. Macdonald might have helped had he not got injured training, The need to have a player that can get in behind a packed defence is glaringly obvious, Only hope the Raith game will give us some joy as by feck we need it bad!!

  7. I was at sea all my days not alot of time at home, season ticket holder who only got to half the games, even missed 2 Cup Finals, the latter greatest day of all time. I will still support this club, accept rough with the smooth and trust things will get better. Now that I am retired last 4 years only this Covid has stopped my drive up and down the A96. So yes, I will renew my seat because I support this club and always will.

  8. Being over 500 miles away from Inverness, obviously I've seen more of ICT this season - home and away - than in any previous season. Even though much of it has been very painful, I'd like it to continue. As Satan (our one!) said, football clubs are for life. I've been half-thinking about how it could be done without affecting the number of people actually going to the games, but I haven't been able to come up with anything. If it was available to everyone, how many would turn up on a freezing afternoon in February, if they could watch it from home? One idea would be to make streaming available only to people who are more than, say, 50 miles away from the ground. But there is no way to check that that is both easy and cheap. If anyone has any ideas, we should discuss them, and then see if the club would be willing to discuss with the SPFL. We won't be the only ones - I am sure that football fans up and down the UK will be thinking the same thing.

  9. I’ve had a look at the stats on this site. He has 17 appearances. Deas and Ridgers have 20 each, although if I’m reading it right one of Deas’ was off the bench, as was one of Sutherland’s. As Cammy MacKay has played twice, that must be 22 games so far, and not many wins! Only 4 in the league and squeezing past East Fife in the Betfred Cup. Incredible what you learn on the stats page. Sean Welsh shares a birthday with my youngest grandson: next Monday, although they are 30 years apart!

  10. The problem seems to be one of realism. The club seems to be deluded that we have a right to be in the top 4. Clearly there has been a major problem with Robbo and his number 2 details of which are confidential. But currently, the team look devoid of drive, of hunger, of cohesiveness. McCann seemed like a good idea but sadly is yesterday's man with a big ego but little motivational skill. We are not too good to be relegated.

  11. Don’t rate as it Gardiner at all - Stewart Petrie is a shout but not sure he could be lured out of part-time football as he has a pretty good job out with football. I think we are definitely at a massive disadvantage to a lot of other Championship teams in regards to our location which makes the clubs job much harder in every respect. Sorry if this post offended anyone regarding Robbo, just wanted to start a conversation as I don’t see Neil McCann as a long term option if Robbo isn’t able to manage us long term.

  12. It's a no from me because I want either Sheerin or Stewart Petrie as our next permanent manager whenever that time comes :). Anyway, it's Mr Gardiner that needs to go, what is his title anyway and what does he do because its not chairman, that's Ross Morrison's job. Whatever his role, he has failed DRAMATICALLY because we are a mess, something that wasn't the case until he came in!

  13. True but we have no influence. We need those on the pitch and behind the scenes to get us out of this.

  14. Unfortunately again losing poor goal putting them on the back foot. Unable to score. Not looking great. Not convinced about the subs and their timing ? Now added pressure of being at the wrong end of the table. The sleeves have really got to get rolled up. Hope Raith are off it Friday or it could be another tough watch.

  15. Given the HL has been suspended and no game time, it'll really make a statement for the season and our attitude and capability if a bunch of part timers who have hardly had a chance to train or play together rock up out of the wilderness and punt us out of the cup (nothing against Buckie and I'm sure they will be motivated but given the circumstances this season more than any other we should be closing this out)!!!

  16. What a shambles that was. These guys are just not interested and so far have shown they have no desire to fight for our club. The performances have been a disgrace. I've never seen a team so poor and so limited in skill and ability as this one in all my years supporting the club. Here's hoping we can survive this season and somehow get rid of these **** poor players we have playing for us. Maybe then we can get guys in who will care about playing for ICT.

  17. Think we need an awful lot more than hope at the moment.

  18. They might play better for the real TV.

  19. Disagree. In the Foran season I believe there were a core of experienced senior players who were unhappy at the managerial approach so almost downed tools hoping for changes to occur (we see it often at big EPL clubs etc but oblivious when its happening infront of us). Once that happened unfortunately it was just too late for them to step it up and turn it around. Most then took the chance to leave so never had to deal with the repercussions IMO. This year has been slightly different with disruptions, covid challenges, managerial uncertainties due to extenuating circumstances. All of which I think has badly affected the players and their confidence and perhaps the stop/start nature coupled with new coaching ideas is just more than most can adapt to quick enough. Decent or talented players dont become poor overnight without other influences and on paper I believe we have some very good individuals (on their day).

  20. Definitely. I don’t know where the problem lies. Do we think we are better than we are? Do we think we can’t go down? Are the players affected by the off field issues? Are there issues off the park we don’t know about? We need to get a grip, and fast. We have decent players but are lacking the cutting edge that we should be capable of. We should not turn on McCann. He’s come in at a difficult time, but I agree that trying to change the style of play at this stage is not sensible. We need to play to our strengths and go back to the 4 2 3 1 that served us reasonably well up until Christmas. If we can keep Doran fit and get better deliveries to the front players, we can turn this round, but it will be a challenge. At least the league is tight and a few good results can make a big difference. But everyone at the club needs to accept the reality: we are in relegation trouble.

  21. I recall possession football with no penetration then being picked off by what we deemed were lesser teams, time and time again. Sounds familiar?

  22. Its clear what the problem is and has been for months - we dont score goals. Look at the stats 18 games with 25 goals. While the defence is relatively solid only conceding 23 which only 4th best in the whole league our scoring record is very poor being 4th worst. So the question has to be are our forward players honking devoid of confidence or do we just have no creative ideas to feed them. Probably a combination of both IMO which is ironic as on paper we have some talented players who are good enough for this level.

  23. I think(and hope) Robbo will be back for the start of next season. Hopefully we are still a full-time outfit in the Championship.

  27. If he'd left Pittodrie a couple of weeks ago it might have been a reasonable approach to ask him to fill in as the temp for Robbo but we couldn't afford him and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't even consider it, McInnes will have his sights set far higher than us. Moreover, I agree with Snorbens, he's our manager going through a hard time and he should be left alone to recover and get back to his old self again.

  28. I’d even take the Pele years in div 1. We could beat anybody then. I’m nearly greeting at the state our club is in.

  29. Hoping. I've got hundreds of memories watching ICT since 1994 but if I go over the past 4 years all I can come up with is Tannadice in the Cup.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
