  2. Brilliant result for us and one that keeps our brilliant form going in to two very important league games. David Carson brilliant once again aswell as welsh and toddy. I cant believe how many people have over looked how much of a good signing danny devine has been for us this season he has played 18 leagues games losing just 3 out of 18, the 4 games that he hasnt played in we have lost 3 out of 4. His experience has helped Carson settle in to right back and also a very young back line progress. This perception that he is a bad player i just do not get at all, anyhow up the caley this is one happy fan tonight! Ps can we get Carson a new deal please

  3. Just wondering if County have achieved another first here. Are they the first Premiership side ever to have been dumped out of the Scottish Cup whilst no less that 3 Highland League sides remain in it?

  4. Well I have just got home from another busy night caring for the mentally ill of Lancashire. I now cant believe that - as I would always have done before - I did not look to swopping my shift. I have evidently expressed my disinterest in this season as a whole, probably related to my work experience. But I was keeping an eye on the scores as I drove through the streets of Preston - and when I saw the final score that olde beautiful buzz restarted the footballing heartbeat. It felt like we had actually won the Scottish Cup again. I could only picture a full, rejoicing Away End and taught by Health Care Assistant the words of A Bridge and a Castle although she did not wish to join in the next couple of ditties. So bragging rights restored and for the time being at least - THE HIGHLANDS ARE OURS

  5. The joy was even sweeter because we know what it feels like to watch our team play the John Hughes defensive style of play, and how depressing it is. Our Caley Pinks (sounds a bit like a variety of potato), were the complete opposite flying freely down the pitch like a flock of flamingos.

  6. And that in a nutshell somes up why Hughes isn't a great manager, despite what some of our supporters think. The style of play he tries to play only works with good players, poor to average players just cannot make it work and Hughes is incapable of changing his system.

  7. I can't believe he is only 19, he is the sort of gamechanger that every side needs [certainly at this level, and eventually at Premiership level], he'll have off-days of course, but he has been very influential this season. As someone else said, Devine has done well this season, and has been under-rated. Strong performances all round, but Toddy is surely becoming a bit of a cult figure.

  8. Really enjoyed the game tonight, it was great to see the team playing with confidence, feeling so much more positive. Credit to McCann for bringing something new to the team and a freshness we were needing. John Hughes saying before the game he wants to win cup with county too, win the game tonight take the plaudits then on to the next round oops. 3 great goals for us too, come on ICT

  9. Never been as proud to support ICT as I am tonight, especially after getting told by County fan friends on Facebook and an idiot St Johnstone fan friend that we'd "get pumped". The idiot St J fan even said it was "undeserved" I am always optimistic lol but I still believe we can get promoted this season especially if we play as excellent as tonight. It was a team effort so I'm not going to single out anyone as man of the match. :ictscarf: :ictscarf: :ictscarf:

  11. Just skipped through the whole match again, and thoroughly enjoyed all three goals again. They were all top quality, especially Daniel's Good after match interviews with Dan, Toddy and Neil. Thought the two pundits, Shelly Kerr and Gary Caldwell were excellent too. As has been said by many of us, that was a real team performance last night. Can't ask for more than that. Let's hope we can keep it going.

  12. It's amazing how, over the years when we are a lower division club playing a top division team away in the cup we come away with a 1-3 victory. That said, if County continue to defend like that they won't be a top division club for too much longer and, if we continue to play like that, we might not be a lower division club for too much longer either.

  13. Oh, and have to mention - McCann's game management was spot on. Bringing on attacking subs when we might have tried to see a 2-1 out worked a treat. Plaudits all round - team and management.

  14. What they don't seem to get up in Dingwall is, that when our ex players defect to the dark side, they can never quite shake off their ICT past and find it impossible to fully commit to a side that, deep down they do not rate. Once you find your niche in Inverness, no other club (but especially County), will quite do! And this theory works for managers too.

  15. The old heads a bit fragile this morning, a few celebratory drams after that amazing performance. So chuffed with the troops last night, the whole team put in a shift and schooled County in how to fight and show some desire, and the goals weren't too bad either Well done boys, good job well done

  16. Devine has been mentioned by one or two on this thread. I've always rated him as just the type of consistent, hard working player that we love here. I really felt for him when he fell out of favour in his last spell at the club and was delighted that he came back.

  17. Twelve hours on from full time and still buzzing! Such a shame we couldn’t be there to witness such a great team performance and a well deserved win. Hopefully a home draw for the next round which is on the weekend of 17 April. Brora anyone?

  18. Correct me if I am wrong, but I can't remember Ridgers having to make one save, all night. He cut out a cross or corner or two, but otherwise had a quiet night. We are still a work in progress, but that was certainly the best I've seen them play this season.

  19. Still feels great after the best night's sleep in a long time. My only problem now is deciding who to put in my top 3 for Man of match. So many contenders, but a nice problem to have. Confidence must now be riding high, and needs to continue for our final push for play off spot. Well done again to all concerned.

  23. Let’s put tonight in context. A Championship team that has struggled against teams like Alloa this season was drawn away to a Premiership team that has beaten the reigning Scottish Champions twice this season. Only one team played well. Only one team deserved to win. Only one team looked like the best team in the Highlands. Only one team looked like the Premiership team. Which team? The wonderful Inverness Caledonian Thistle. If we make the play offs, tonight showed we have nothing to fear Happy Easter all! Onwards and (hopefully) upwards.

  25. Right here me out! I absolutely love our Pink kit this year and I know many others love it also. After tonight's skudding of the Village People and superior performance, it was like watching some exotic Foreign side like Inter Miami or Palermo! So it's about time I reckon that we all get behind the idea of PINK becoming our new home colours. No more "too much blue" arguments, or "not enough red and black" worries, or "It just looks like a Rangers shirt" concerns. Yes, pink and black is the way to go from now on.... Who's with me?

  26. That was the most enjoyable performance and result that I can remember for some time. Great to feel that ICT buzz again. All of a sudden we have hit form at just the right time and it should be well within the team's ability to get into the play-offs.

  31. Well, the morning after such a classic is always sweet. Much to replay in the mind, and savour. Overall, you have to say it was a team performance, where everybody knew their jobs and passed to each other with confidence. What a contrast to a few months ago. Confidence and a well drilled shape has transformed us, let's hope it last for the rest of the season. Lots of highlights, particularly MacKay's solo, but I also really enjoyed Allardyce's long ball, MacGregor's wizardry, only to be foiled by a block, but it was a sweet move worthy of any top level game. If we can retain that standard we may well be in for an exciting finish to the season. What are the chances of meeting County in the play-offs? Quote from the County forum on their performance: "It was like farmers playing with wellies on" - I couldn't have said it better myself

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
