  1. Excellent game, I feel we edged it but luck desreted us at the wrong time. good performances from all our guys Storey worked hard and meritted his place, Carson strong, aware and positive as ever. Toddy certainly not shoddy and almost a match winner. Danny just a little more oomph in his shots and he could have scored too.I feel sorry for Deas worked his socks off unselfishly tried to find Toddy when 'he could maybe put it in the net. Everyone else played their hearts out working away at both ends of the pitch. Not a loser in our team Well thats the cup run for this season over, now the most important part coming up we can go into these games with just the right amount of confidence We know we are capable and the lads want to succeed. Come on ICT

  2. A second game away against a Premiership side and a second very creditable performance. A game which, with a bit more good fortune, we could easily have won. Many positives to take forward to Tuesday and the remainder of our campaign to secure a play off place.

  5. Awww shucks Scotty Yeah it was mind numbing stuff at times but great to see it all come together. IBM is now the main man for keeping our PotY poll running smoothly and EWD has been adding stats after every game plus all league scores that keep the league tables ticking over as well as completing the updating of every score since we entered the leagues, that's the one that gives us the league tables in chronological order. All this helps immensely and leaves me more time to concentrate on Previews and Reports which have been coming thick and fast this season, non stop to be honest. These previews and reports are not necessarily aimed at our own site users but are the front face of the site for anyone dropping in for a look. So although our own likes/dislikes are not massive, we know that some articles get a lot of views so that's pleasing. They also get promoted to Caley Thistle Online Facebook page and Twitter account. As Scotty said if anyone wants a shot at doing any articles/overviews or just anything ICT related just let us know. Maybe my bloggy style of reporting cheeses some off, who knows but unless anyone else wants a shot, then you will have to put up with me So big thanks to IBM & EWD for helping out diligently and taking time off their own routines to keep this site ticking over.

  6. Scottish Cup Movement A bit of light relief this weekend as Scottish Cup action takes centre stage. It's off to Paisley to face St Mirren in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup at St Mirren Park, or the Simple Digital Arena or even the SMISA Stadium, whatever cranks yer handle. Well it would have taken centre stage had the Duke of Edinburgh not taken his leave of this earth. With his funeral kicking-off at 3:00pm all Scottish Cup ties have been moved from the traditional kick-off slots and we find ourselves heading to Paisley for an early Friday night start at 6:00pm. The climax to the Championship season is going down to the wire apart from already promoted Hearts. Everyone else has something to play for although Alloa will do well to get out of this one with only three games left. So with the business end of the season in full swing, the Cup will be a welcome distraction for the Caley Jags, or Caley Jabs as we are now known given our vaccination involvement. Three games left to decide our fate. Dundee (H), Hearts (A), Ayr United (H). Anyway, that's for another Preview. STREAMING £12 OFFICIAL PREVIEW TODOROV STATEMENT DAVID CARSON To the Cup We find ourselves here having squeezed past Buckie away then eliminating Ross County at Dingwall. Dan Mackay's goal against County has been nominated for goal of the round. This will be our third away game in a row in the Cup and our seventh out of the last eight games overall. During that run we have won six on the bounce and a draw on Saturday against Queen of the South where Nikolay Todorov scored his tenth goal of the season. Check out the contenders for goal of the round St Mirren entered the Cup in the 3rd round and beat Hamilton 0-3 Jamie McGrath (2) and Kristian Dennis were the scorers. McGrath's first was a great lofted finish (see video above) in the fourth minute, his second a penalty and Dennis ended the scoring with a long range curling strike which can also be seen in the goal of the round contenders. Our last win over the Buddies was in February 2015 at St Mirren Park when goals by Greg Tansey and Ryan Christie were enough to see off the Buddies who replied through Jim Goodwin. Incidentally, the last time we met in the Cup, we trounced St Mirren 4-0 in a replayed tie in Inverness following a 1-1 draw in Paisley. We went on to lift the Cup that year. Deja Vu anyone? No replays this time out, extra time and penalties should it go that far. St Mirren's last season playing us regularly saw them win the Chamionship, beating us three times and drawing one. St Mirren's last outing was a surprise 1-0 defeat to Motherwell where they dominated for long spells and the result was compounded when McGrath missed a first half penalty. Last 10 Competitive Meetings with St Mirren (2018 - 2014) - St Mirren's last FIVE Championship games -> D W L D L 2 - 2 (H) 0 - 1 (A) 0 - 2 (H) 2 - 4 (A) 2 - 1 (A) 1 - 0 (H) 4 - 0 (H) 1 - 1 (A) 1 - 0 (A) 2 - 2 (H) Double congratulations are due to born again David Carson for some tremendous performances at right back since his return from injury. Not only has he been awarded the Championship Player of the Month award for March, but he has agreed a three year contract to keep him here until 2024. He has kept some tricky players quiet at right back during this spell, notably against Raith Rovers and Dunfermline where he scored his first goal for the club as they claimed the three points. He has continued this form into April with tremendous performances at Dingwall in the Cup and at Cappiellow in the League where he made his 50th appearance for the Caley Jags in a 4-1 win. Brad Mckay also get's a mention for inclusion in the team of the week for sterling defensive work at Dingwall, Morton and Palmerston. Great recognition for the work the Caley Jags have been doing under the temporary leadership of Neil McCann and Billy Dodds. ***Latest Team News*** We have bigger fish to fry as we enter the final three games in the Championship. Neil McCann has a balancing act to get right as we strive to push for a top four finish. So does he go all out for a cup shock or does he keep his top players fresh for the Championship run-in. James Keatings has not featured much since news of his departure leaked out and injuries came along, but I wonder if the cup will see him re-instated. Unsettling news about on form Toddy, I hope he can put this behind him for now and do what he does best. Maybe we could wheel Ross Tokely out for this one, the Buddies fans love him! Jim Goodwin has built a battle hardened side who can play with the best of them on their day. Former County captain Marcus Fraser has been performing well for the Buddies. Attacking midfielder Jamie McGrath is top scorer so far this season with thirteen goals to his credit. Striker Jon Obika is struggling to make this one and midfielder Ryan Flynn has picked up a hamstring strain and could be out for a month. Colin Quaner (medial ligament) and Eamonn Brophy (broken foot) are also receiving treatment and unlikely to feature. They will also have to get through this tie without their manager in the dugout. St Mirren have confirmed that manager Jim Goodwin has been issued with a three-match suspension after breaching Disciplinary Rule 203 in the match against Hamilton Academical on Saturday 20th March. He will serve two matches immediately beginning with the cup tie against Inverness. St Mirren's starting XI v Motherwell: Jak Alnwick; Fraser, McCarthy, Shaughnessy, Connolly, Flynn, Erhahon, Doyle-Hayes, Durmus, Erwin, McGrath Subs: Lyness; Tait, McAllister, MacPherson, Finlayson, Reid, Dennis, Henderson View full article

  18. I want to take a few moments to say a huge public thank-you to 3 specific forum members who have been toiling behind the scenes to update our entire stats program during the course of the pandemic. Its mind-numbing and repetitive work but it helps us immensely. Step forward: @IBM @ictewd and last but not least @tm4tj We are now at a stage where, if you go into any of the sub-menus from the main menu items shown below, the data you are presented with should be complete. This was a truly gargantuan task with every ICT game needing to be entered, team lines added, checking for yellow/red cards, substitutions and all sorts of other data. It also involved going through every single season and entering ALL the results for every team from that division for every season so the league table in the match report area showed the weekly table within a tab in the match stats .... If you want to check how it works ... go back to the fixtures page for season 2009/10 and relive Dundee's bottle crashing by viewing the table for each week as the season progresses ... its fun : https://caleythistleonline.com/team/fixtures.html/. Ross Tokely, for years had the wrong number of appearances in our stats as some of the earlier seasons had incorrect or missing data. Not anymore. He is rightly at the top of the charts with his 589 appearances and 36 goals. 36 goals! That makes him our 10th top scorer of all time ... With Dennis Wyness now showing his 101 goals as the top scorer ... These stats have all been checked against Ian Broadfoot's stats which are and will forever remain the gold standard for ICT data, so I know the guys have done a tremendous job when it matches with those stats. A big benefit of having all this data up to date is the TM4TJ can have confidence to use our own stats in the previews and reports instead of having to go searching multiple sources to verify any information, which has meant that more recently he has had these online either in real-time or barely 10 minutes after the match has ended. I cannot thank these guys enough for all this effort, because I know how much it takes to keep it up to date. Separately to the stats stuff, TM4TJ has also spend a s***load of time going back many years and entering and updating match reports which is why you might see them on your feed as new items every so often. Whilst I have not been completely active in the data entry process, I have been around in the background tweaking and adjusting the coding within the stats program and trying to see if I can pull more data out of the database using my somewhat limited PHP/SQL skills. This work will continue because the guys - after taking a well-earned break - are hoping to go through the player data and get the player profiles entered/updated and up to date. We ask for volunteers all the time but this time around we hit the jackpot with @ictewd and @IBM. If anyone else wants to get in on the act and help us to enter player data or other info or offer help with other stuff, then please let myself or @tm4tj know. Those people who keep an eye out for EX-ICT scorers for example may want to help with highlighting a player's other clubs in their profile. I also know TM4TJ is always looking for people to help with articles, and I would be especially keen to hear from anyone with PHP/SQL skills, especially if you have knowledge of converting PHP5 to PHP7 as that's another project I have in the works for the stats as they were originally written in the earlier version. Once again THANK YOU guys. It truly is appreciated.

  20. fixed it for you. We were online in Jul 1994, a little before the club played its first competitive game. Was little more than a front page and a guestbook, but we were there. There was actually another site online around the same time too, possibly even slightly earlier but it was short-lived and the person who had it moved on.

  21. Not just the club but each and every fan stands behind the player and I hope he knows it. It smacks very much as a tactic to divert from the vile racially motivated conduct of at least one employee at Raith Rovers.

  22. Very much appreciated by me too. Thanks to all who continue to make CTO the one stop forum that it has been for ICT fans for almost as long as the club has existed.

  25. @The Long Man - That's why I prefer the Championship. In the space of a month we have gone from staring down relegation to playoff candidates and in most years thats the scenario, with still something to decide on the last day. Its a shame the top division isn't as competitive usually … and that the championship doesn't have the same financial rewards.

  26. There are so many permutations, it is nigh impossible to figure it out. With three tough games in a week for us it is a steep ask. But i am also convinced the others will drop points along the way. So what's the bet it all goes down to the last day. We will need three points, and also rely on other results going our way.... It's that close.

  27. Whilst it would be good if they did, it is very unlikely Dundee will lose all their games. We need to focus on winning our last three league games. If we could pick results to suit us, Dunfermline have been struggling recently and are at home to Dundee and Queen of the South before we play next in the league, so the best outcome for us would be Dundee beating Dunfermline, Raith beating Queen of the South and Queen of the South beating Dunfermline. Chances are that won’t all happen, but if it did we’d still be fourth doing into the Dundee game. Our best option is definitely to focus on winning our games, as nine points should see us in the top four.

  28. Work that cannot be done from home is perfectly permissible and so is travel to and from that place of work. The man has done us a favour by stepping into the breach and, if the last week is anything to go by, is doing a decent job. Give him a break.

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
