Gareth' Hi there from Canada. I am now a Canadian citizen named Roderick but when I note the mention of the Isle of Skye I feel compelled to answer as follows : "A very good friend of mine lives on the same street as me (a co-incidence I still can't get my head around) in the City named Maple Ridge in British Columbia .She was born on the Isle of Skye and so we have something in common.She has a very bright mind and keeps me happy by always seeming to know things i need to know whenever my aging memory at 83 years old fails me. She and I are not girlfriend and boyfriend but we do stuff together because we are both from Scotland and have much in common. I have not yet mentioned Caley Thistle as I write but will do very soon. She has been to Inverness but does not remember much about it .She has taught me a lot though, especially how entrances and exits to and from Skye from the Scottish Mainland have worked successfully etc. The real irony of this whole thing is that a very good friend of mine named George Gibson, former civil engineer and also the former water engineer on Skye, and who was also my former neighbour in Dunain Road, Inverness when I was little and lived right next door to him, is well known to Karen because she lived next door to him on Skye .. And , hearing much of this I keep thinking..."My goodennes Gracious, what co-incidences are there to be uncovered and sometimes it's kinda weird too since you can hardly believe such co-incidences can exist. She and I are not romantically connected but she is so clever I can't let go of her apron strings because my memory is now fading and being replaced by dementia. So her younger mind and overall knowledge of everything around me it seems is amazing and helpful to me. I have a feeling that she probably was high up on the list of school duxes on Skye and this would have been her best fit I think as a student and a person but, I think she does come from a different era than old Rodders. But ,Heh! You just never know who or what you are going to be confronted with in life and being a Boy Scout instead of a Life Boy would have been just as interesting for me I feel. Anyway that's only a little bit of back-talk from the worker's condensation board as I see it and thank you Scotty for allowing me to go off topic a wee bit. Very cold and wet, plus snow, here in British Columbia for the last couple of days and more to come as I hear. A lot of potential, additional, flooding in this area is forecast also so I will need my toddy the nicht! I have been coming back on this site more frequently these last few months and I intend to continue since it is so interesting and I have been starved of all soccer (oops football) matches where I live. First game between the sides this season saw Dunfermline get their second point of the season in a goalless draw at East End Park. They went one better in November with a 2-1 win at the Caledonian Stadium as we imploded. Here's our summary from that game: Under Par: Inverness opened the scoring after probing well for over twenty minutes. M****** G****** drifted inside and the Pars defence opened up allowing him to get a shot away. It came back off the woodwork and Billy Mckay reacted first to knock the ball into the net. However, Dunfermline got their first win of the season as Inverness fired blanks thereafter, and goals from Kevin O'Hara assisted by a massive Danny Devine deflection and a great solo effort from Dom Thomas won the points for the Pars. Meh! Despite that result, after fourteen games, the Pars were still bottom of the league on ten points with Inverness third on twenty-five. Latest Team News We had to pull out of our Boxing Day fixture against Partick Thistle due mainly to an outbreak of covid and the related isolation process. A Dodds alludes to in his pre-match interview we have some back although I think that might be a bit of a smoke screen and we could still be seriously depleted. Only time will tell and see what Wednesday night brings. Sean Welsh has been injured and may still be receiving treatment, but it would be a bonus to have him back. Bit of deja vu from the November game with a diluted squad - Inverness were somewhat depleted with only five on the bench and Sean Welsh, Shane Sutherland, Manny Duku and Wallace Duffy all missing. On the bright side, David Carson returned to action at right back and Reece McAlear was in midfield. The Pars had a full bench which included Nicolay Todorov Ryan Dow and Craig Wighton. John Hughes was watching over his new side with Greg Shields taking charge of his final interim game as gaffer. Kilmarnock dropping points at home to Morton is a real bonus for us. All to play for when we get back on the pitch and nobody now can discount Arbroath as genuine title contenders or assuming, as I confess I have been, that they are likely to fall away.

That was very late, I expect the team had already travelled. Could they really not tell this morning before we set off? Very poor.

I thought they outplayed us in Dunfermline last time , moving the ball forward quickly ( too quick for us). We were lucky to escape with a point. Ridgers was my man of the match. As others have said, although none of these games ever appear easy to our team, we need to get maximum points to maintain our position in a very competitive league

This is an excellent idea. I wonder if the could could bring out some kind of classic matches calendar featuring shots from famous games (Feb 8th 2000 and so on)? December would have to be a picture of Derek Adams greeting after that late Foran strike in the 2012 Scottish Cup tie though
