  1. We were seriously under the cosh in the first half with Ayr having a ridiculous number of corners as pointed out above. The early goal after half time really changed the dynamic of the game and we looked much more comfortable in the second half. Deas and Devine looked very steady in the centre of defence. Delaney continues to look like the pick of the Summer signings despite being extremely one footed. Another goal from Cammy Harper who really looks like a man reborn further up the park. Stronger bench today was a bonus. All in all a very pleasing 3 points which looked highly unlikely at half time. Massive game on Friday and we really need a top drawer performance to exorcise that shocker at Firhill. Onwards and upwards.

  2. Three good results on the road and that has to be commended. Would be great to follow that by bursting the Partick bubble...

  3. More corners than a dododecahedron!

  4. Three away wins on the spin! Partick battered Morton today so Friday will be tough, but we want revenge on them! Well done to the players today. If we rode our luck in the first half, they got the job done after the break. Harper with the winner again!

  5. Trouble is that many of us see the home games but less of us see the away games. We have got most of our league points so far away from home so our away tactics are working well (except at Partick) whilst we’ve been hit and miss at home so far. However, confidence should be high now and hopefully we bring our away form into home games. Changing the subject, who’d have predicted that Cammy Harper would be our top scorer at 1 October! Great to see a local lad making such a positive impact, and good to see Roddy MacGregor feature today too.

  6. Hopefully this impressive league run of consecutive away wins at Raith, Dundee and Ayr will generate more posts than the fury from some about a weakened ICT side scraping past Brechin in an insignificant tournament!

  7. 2 good away wins against Raith Rovers and Dundee and a home win after penalties against Brechin City although it was a poor performance. There was not a lot of votes for the three games and the person who voted for the same player three times your votes were not counted. The winner for September is Zak Delaney Another away win today to start the month and five more games this month so please keep your votes coming.

  8. Second Half: Having been on the back foot for most of the first forty-five, Inverness stunned Ayr by opening the scoring through Cammy Harper with a glancing header into the bottom corner two minutes after the break from a Boyd cross. What a start to the second half from the visitors and Oakley had a header saved by Albinson ten minutes later when he met David Carson's cross at the back post. Substitute Jayden Mitchell-Lawson went close two minutes after coming on, shooting just wide from eighteen yards and Brad Young forced Ridgers into making a save from his header. Dodds replaced Dan Mackay with Aaron Doran with some twenty minutes left but it was Ayr substitute Logan Chalmers that shot over soon after with Jordan Houston following suit. A Dempsey corner looked to be cleared away from the line as Ayr pushed for an equaliser with three minutes remaining and the same player shot over in the dying ember, but that was it as Inverness held out for their third win on the bounce away from home. Another tremendous result on the road for Dodds' men, now level on 14 points with Ayr and third equal in the table.

  10. To get rid we'd probably have to pay, which we can't afford either. I like Robbo but I agree with you. Since returning to work in his new role, I've no clue what he's actually done, for what I'm assuming is a hefty salary. Seems more interested in the Jambos and selling his book than ICT as far as I can see. Maybe he's doing a power of work in the background. With our communication skills as a club we'd never know.

  11. If finances are so bad why are we paying for a Sporting Director who would prefer to be a pundit than actually attend our games?

  12. Totally agree Robert we are needing to see a good performance at home on Friday night and of course three points against the league leaders.

  13. Good to have Moog back! If we win by 4 goals on Friday you will be right, at least until Queens Park play on Saturday.

  15. Another good win (its goals that count, not corners!). Really looking forward to the TV match v PT on Friday. If we can win that one our season really will be on the up. Well done today, lads.

  16. And it certainly was a vital win - with Partick, Queen's and Dundee all winning, we needed that just to keep in touch.

  18. Ayr dominant at the break Ayr were one of the early leaders ahead of the visit from the Caley Jags. They strengthened their push for promotion by adding the man with the sweet left foot to their squad ahead of this encounter, Logan Chalmers, and he started on the bench today. Inverness were still without a handful of players although Max Ram played for an hour last week against Brechin City and he and Roddy MacGregor were on the bench after a few weeks out with injury. Ayr got the game underway and forced two early corners before Andy Murdoch shot wide in the third minute. Inverness responded with Steven Boyd winning a corner from a deflected shot and Ayr cleared ball effectively. In the twelfth minute, a Mark McKenzie header hit the bar and out for a goal kick after Josh Mullen had crossed into the box. Big let off for the visitors. Quarter of an hour gone and the two Mackay's combine before Daniel brings out an excellent save from Albinson at his near post and Murdoch's looped header cleared Mark Ridgers' crossbar. Billy Mckay sliced wide after Dan Mackay's shot from the left side was blocked and fell for Billy on the volley. More Ayr pressure saw a Mullin effort blocked and Musonda headed over the subsequent corner midway through the half. Ayr were racking up the corners in the first half with half an hour played, one every three minutes and counting with Sean McGinty next to head wide. Ten minutes before the break a rare foray forward saw George Oakley and Mckay interact but the latters cut back was cleared by the defence and five minutes before the interval McKenzie shot wide from six yards after good work by Akinyemi. We went in level at the interval but Ayr were knocking on the door with some intent. HALF TIME: 0-0

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...
