  1. It’s been confirmed that the Travel Club will still run the bus to Hamilton this Saturday for the Cup Tie despite the Clubs statement regarding the team being mostly the younger players. We.must and will support them, they’ll give their very best and we will be there to cheer them on

  2. Just a reminder that the Supporters Travel Club are still running a bus to Hamilton on Saturday. Whether aged 16 or 36 the team need our support. Let’s get behind the boys.

  3. Yet another positive mood enhancing statement from the club. Regardless of competition, we're basically saying don't turn up and watch our youngsters play as its not worth it (perhaps they aren't worth it) - regardless of whether this is meant to help fans given rising costs etc, its poorly worded and I'd imagine does little for morale. PR is not the clubs strong point and neither is dressing room psychology it seems.

  4. It's the little things like not mentioning Jack that highlights the lack of camaraderie within the club for those that carry out day to day essential roles.

  5. I really didn’t enjoy the Dundee game. Someone needs to man manage Carson to stop him trying long passes, that’s what led up to the goal. The team generally felt like they were trying to play beyond their limited capability. It was our kitman Jack’s last home game before he departs for pastures new. I’d have thought at least a mention on the tannoy would have been in order for the over seven years of service he has given.

  6. This is the reality! Get used to it remaining fans. The common denominator for any club is its fan base. If we want to ‘get real’ then we face the facts ICT have never attracted enough fans from the beginning. We struggled to get over 3000 when in the top league when the Hamilton’s of the world visited. The players and managers through the years knew this and apart from one or two that couldn’t get a better offer decided to live here as they got older. The real challenge of all boards was to make the experience of a match such an attraction that it would develop and increase the fan base. Simple fact is they haven’t managed to see or do this! Putting aside the team performance for a moment, getting to & the condition of the stadium is an off-put. Dangerous crossing of the A9 (main road for 100 mile radius) for pedestrians. Stadium view (seat rake & distance from pitch), is poor. i.e reference Tynecastle! I have some sympathy for the current board; their not idiots or have their head in the clouds, but maybe they thought a shuffle of the existing limits assets and resources plus a few concerts to raise a bob or two may be enough to get us into the cash haven of the top league. (We would almost certainly be soon back down ). So summing up, We are where we deserve to be simply on the fact that we don’t have enough fans to generate enough money to put a better team and game experience on show. Sorry to be so blunt about it but until we ‘get real’ we will continue to dream above our station. Just like 90% of other teams in Scotland. bc

  7. I am sure that is what they are meaning. Has it changed over the years as you could re-call a player that was on loan in the past or does the club have to put in a clause in the loan contract?

  8. It may refer to the request to bring the loan players back.

  9. Billy Dodds contract ends in June next year I believe, so I can’t see us paying him off now. Adding another wage whilst he and the back room staff are still there is just sticky all round. The reality is we will see out this season as is and caulk it up as a loss because we simply won’t win promotion. When we are safe from relegation and close to the end of the season, the fans should be given the dignity of news that his contract will not be renewed. For the first time in years I’m not nervous about losing players through contract lapse or signing, bar a few maybe. The young lads, Harper and MacGregor would be the first priority to keep for me. I’d be for chopping the crock list as we can’t have passengers any more.

  11. If the club say they "will have no choice", then presumably they will also have no choice the following week (also at Hamilton) unless several players who played against Dundee have miraculously recovered from previously unreported injuries sustained in that game. I do sympathise with the plight the club is in and I would be supportive of bringing in 2 or 3 youngsters for the game. But public statements like that really aren't very helpful. We may have a long injury list, but the team that played against Dundee are all in the first team squad. One or two may have picked up injuries in that game but clearly we have a choice to play a team which consists of entirely 1st team squad players.

  12. Diddy cup. Simple. Great run out for the next crop of youngsters, in a no pressure situation. Let's face it. On our current trajectory this game is a direct pathway to the 1st team squad in the not too distant future.

  13. But we were meant to get financial stability and growth through a side hustle of concerts and promotions. Now there's the battery storage facility........ All a bit 'This time next year Rodney we'll be millionaires........'

  14. Never been convinced BD was the right choice and he's done nothing over the last 18 months to change that. It was clear from the outset nepotism was at play and all we have seen just reinforces the fact that capability is secondary to relationships. Moving JR into a DoF role looks a cost burden we cannot afford and its not clear what return is provided. There is a network of 'jobs for the boys' at the club so it's not just BD but a full clear out that's needed. This is the SG effect that was seen at hearts and Dundee now coming through......perhaps covid slowed this down and hid the effects but throw in the farce of concert companies and money losses its only going to get worse. As for injuries, it's an overdone excuse. While limitations in players does affect the strength of team, the tepid play and lack of coherent shape, style or entertainment has been going on for many months. Last year play-offs papered over the cracks but we probably have one of the best squads (not just starting 11 when fit) in the league yet are in danger of being mid to lower table. Last year StJ showed how big the gap to Premiership is now, therefore promotion has to come from winning the league - which again like last year is full of bang average to crap teams and lowest level standard its been in our existence as a club. Right now there is zero chance of winning the league this year so we are already looking at yet another season of Championship football next year with reduced budgets and falling fan interest.

  17. Exactly what "assistance" did they ask for from the authorities? Either they said that because of the injury situation, they would not put out the strongest available team. In which case they could expect little sympathy. Or did they ask for a postponement - and for how long?

  18. Tbh I wouldn't object to Barry Wilson or Scott Kellacher, I kind of get where your coming from though. Its clear that something needs to change and fast otherwise this will be another lie that Mr Gardiner told, he talked about promotion so anything other than sacking Dudds would prove that he has no ambition.

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.

It's Now or Never: That's what Elvis used to say. We are in deep trouble up to our necks with no signs that we can turn this around. Defeat to Arbroath could be the final nail in our coffin with only fifteen points available to us ahead of this game. The play-offs are looking more likely by the minute, but it's not beyond the realms of possibilty that automatic relegation is still an option should Arbroath beat us on Saturday. With the long suffering fans rapidly losing faith in Big Dunc, it's crunch time as Arbroath head North to the venue they won at the last time they were here. Sadly they come to the Caledonian Stadium off the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat to Airdrie, and we could all but relegate them on Saturday with a win. However, that's nothing to gloat about as we could be next...

Big Trouble Down the Dump: Billy Mckay was back in the starting XI along with Samson Lawal with Pepple dropping to the bench and Shaw out for the season. Both teams had seven on the bench with Roddy MacGregor getting a rare seat. Scott Robinson scored the only goal of the game just before the break. Inverness were reduced to ten men when Cammy Kerr was sent off just after an hour. Despite creating more opportunities, the points just evaded us.

      Meh!
