  1. Looks like a lot of us clicking on to the fact Dodds isn't keen on trusting his young players and some players have been played out of position with no need for it? This is going to be the season of missed opportunities by the looks of it? For me Dodds doesn't believe we can win the league .....

  2. Last time I looked we were 2nd in the table, with a game in hand, having lost just 4 games all season, we had a great run at the start of the season, as we did at the end of last season, and yes whilst we've struggled a bit recently, with different players having issues, and with what seems like a bit of dressing room unrest (dealt with) but very few teams, especially on a small budget can expect to go all season firing on all cylinders. Every player brought in so far this year has done all right [save perhaps Duku, who hopefully will have a purple patch soon]. Can we get Carson firing again i

  3. FWIW, I wouldn't have taken Duku on and instead I would have tried Jamieson as he seems to play well with Mckay and has looked better than Duku in the games he has played. I also wouldn't have taken off MacGregor so unless this was a change that had to be made through injury or fitness I would have gone with: Ridgers Devine Broadfoot Deas Carson Welsh McAlear Walsh MacGregor Mckay Jamieson I might not have started with this formation, probably going with the same 4411 that Dodds did go with, but as the game went on and we needed to get more goals I would have tried the above

  4. Absolutely right we are not playing well. We have a strong squad of players and you have to ask yourself are management getting the best out of them. Roddie Macgregor probably the best young talent at the squad stuck out wide on the right hand and then taken off just so we can batter the ball forward at every opportunity.

  5. I agree there Kingsmills. I hope they have been training already with the team and are ready to be called into the team when required even making a subs appearance tomorrow. Welcome to the club guys I hope you are ready to prove yourselves

  6. Won't matter who we bring in in my opinion.... As its the same old garbage coaching them as its been for the last 5 odd years. No point bringing in new managers then forcing them to work with old hat supposed coaches

  7. One reason we are not now top of the league is throwing away the lead against a poor Dunfermline team when we last played them in Inverness to, in the end, come away with nothing. We need to remedy that tomorrow. We are better than the Pars, the league table demonstrates that, it's essential that we prove that on the pitch and keep our promotion push firmly on track. Nothing less than 3 points will do.

  8. We certainly have injuries and the vacancy created by Montrose's latest signing to contend with, however, Arbroath are a fantastic example of maximising the team effort. It would be great if we could revisit the form we started the league season with and gain revenge over Dunfermline at a time they are desperate for points. We owe Yogi and Dunfermline nothing. Let's hope minds and bodies are focussed at 3pm Saturday to get us back on track.

  9. "Better than last week" is a pretty low bar to be honest given how the game against Raith went.

  10. I was really impressed with Queens number 10 yesterday, Lee Connelly I think it was. Looked exactly the type of player we need, pacey and direct with an eye for a goal.

  11. Absolute dross. One of these teams is trying to get promoted, the other is trying to avoid relegation. Dress it up any way you want, but it's difficult to tell the teams apart. No wins in four for Inverness but still second in the league that nobody wants to assert their authority on. Well done Arbroath, without Nouble and Dowds, but still able to beat Raith on their own patch. Carson and Deas were absolutely useless yesterday, there's no other way to describe it. Deas maybe trying to bodyswerve suitors, went the right way about it, absolutely woeful. Carson, wtf. We need to get some seri

  12. Poor result but in my opinion you can't fault any player for a lack of effort and commitment. For those who are blaming the management what would you do differently? Reading the previous posts what do people think is the issues with the team? There's a lot of talk but no one seems to say what they they would do to rectify these problems. It seems most people just like to jump on the bandwagon and criticise the team but can't back it up with any justifiable response. We are second in the league with a game in hand on the top team. If that team was Killmarnock we would all be delighted

  13. Absolutely disgraceful how Dodds has never shown any faith in the younger members of his squad. We all know now what Duku cannot do, so why blindly persist with the same tactics. Jamieson has barely kicked a ball. Dodds is being shown up for what he is, a so called radio expert who talks a good game but in reality is not delivering. 4 wins from last 15 is concerning.

  14. Another really poor result. I really don't understand why we don't play players in their correct positions. I didn't see the game yesterday but from what I read Duffy came on and played centre half. That meant three of our back four were playing out of position which is ridiculous. Why did we not take Lewis Nicholson on, I maybe wrong but I'm sure he is a left back and play Robbie Deas at centre half. We could even have taken one of the new signings on and put Harper back to left back. Again I assume Harper was playing in midfield which isn't his natural position. Dodds looks to ha

This is the latest one, can I just say I'm bald and have never searched for hair transplants so I reckon Caleyjag is playing some sort of trick on me or leaving some subtle hints 🤣 or @Scotty is getting me back for my comments haha @Scotty I think I speak for everyone when I say that you do a grand job and must take some sort of self-satisfaction and pride in running the site, I don't fully understand the background work but have a great deal of appreciation as to how difficult it must be so 👏

  20. Numerous teams have visited us recently, and after about five minutes I have thought - ahh I see how they are trying to play, how they plan to get the ball up the park with quick passing, how they pull our defence out of position to create more space for the dangerous players to exploit - they seem well drilled, regardless of the quality of their players. I don't see that with us, we have a formation, evident at kick off, but I don't see a clear plan of attack once the ball starts moving. Occasionally we have periods of half decent passing, but this is often more like keep-ball as the opp

  21. we need to take Sutherland out of the 10 position and put Young Roddy in there. The number of times he was free and waving his arms for the ball to be igonored for a sideways:back pass was ridiculous. Poor Davie Carson should have been subbed at half time, his crossing passing was awful The pace of the attack is awful. We need to get someone in that midfield who can see a pass - Dodds has to give Roddy that chance, he’s a total waste out wide

  22. So frustrating! Today worse than last week in the end as we really needed to win today. We need new blood in a fast but I'm not convinced the strengthening we need is coming. We the fans believe we can win the league but do Dodds and the club? I dunno.... Billy D just sprouts out the same post match interview every week. Very few actually performed well today and for pitys sake give Sutherland a day off. He's bomb proof as the sub picked today showed. Totally and utterly fed up!

  23. That second half performance was pitiful. We didn't even try and attack until they equalised. First half was okay but nothing special. Barely created anything bar the goal. I don't know if the players play with fear, or a lack of bite (I'm not saying they aren't trying, it's that bit of aggression or making that run off the ball). Mentality is half the battle.

  24. Absolutely clueless management that clearly have NO idea how to change a game or at least tactics . Actually glad there wasn’t a home game this week as they are a very hard watch these days . Obviously it was McCann that was the coach when they arrived and not Dodds . Same excuses and he will have positives from the match . Really don't hear many agreeing with him .

  25. I’m starting to feel the club is not wanting to be promoted and is happy being at this level. Time for them to prove me wrong. We do seem to have the ability, but perhaps not the ambition and desire. Either that or the game plan when we go ahead is so flawed that we keep messing up. Kilmarnock away next weekend and if we lose that, we will soon be out of the play off places depending on other results and the games in hand over us other clubs have.

  26. Another frustrating second half, letting the other team back in. I think we definitely have the players to do well, but I do question the coaching / desire to be more ruthless, from the management. I can almost predict the post match interview from BD!

  27. Turning into another massively disappointing season. Promotion was there for the taking if we could have shown a bit of character. Really poor result today.

  28. The point is all we deserved from that. A very poor second half, and we only really showed anything going forward after we conceded. We seem unable to play when we take the lead now and we always seem to let teams back into games we should be winning. So frustrating.

  31. Time enough to think about a squad fit to compete in next season's Premiership if and when that becomes a live issue. Right now we need to focus on having the players to compete over the next four months to give us the best possible chance of getting there and we are probably still two short.

  32. We need more than one player.if Mackay gets injured which is very likely who is going to score the goals,I don’t think this squad will give us promotion. How many of our present squad could play in SPL.? if we are lucky to get promoted we would require 7 or 8 players and this would take half the season to gel Just my thoughts

  37. He didn’t want to leave, Derby wanted him off the wage bill and he told the Derby Telegraph he is “gutted” about leaving. Fee reported to be £30,000 but Wigan chairman says it was less than that. Absolute bargain.

  38. Pretty close to what I suggested above. I don’t disagree with you at all, as Jamieson has not really been given a chance. However, our good run was when we had Duku starting so maybe his presence creates opportunities for others. Equally we had Gardyne then too, but his actions have deprived us of his input. At least we are starting to debate solutions rather than simply complaining about our recent displays. Like DD, I thought we were better on Saturday than we were against Raith.

  42. I don't agree that anyone is being unduly negative. It is precisely because this represents our best chance of promotion since relegation that so many of us are so frustrated and disappointed with many recent results and, more particularly, performances. I well remember where we came from but I also remember where we were just a few seasons ago and, with one minor blip, for a decade or so.

  43. That was grim. After a decent opening 15 - 20 minutes from Queens, during which they probably should have scored at least once, we started to get on top and looked like ending the first half the stronger side. Queens main attacking plan seemed to be trying to slide the ball in behind our CBs for Connelly to latch on to and we got a glimpse of this when Paton (I think) burst through and looked set to round Ridgers but fortunately a well timed challenge snuffed out this threat. Deas had a couple of decent chances which fell to him at the left edge of the box but your CB filling in at l

  44. I was one of the 479 who were at the stadium and don't think I have ever seen such an inept display from all three officials.Collum was his usual over officious self while the standside assistant allowed a blatant offside goal to stand and his partner in crime originally flagged the QOS equaliser offside and then allowed the referee to overrule him. Having said that it didn't help that once again we failed to beat a lower placed team at home.

    • Comedy of Errors: Inverness once more failed to take advantage of the given situation by producing another abject display at home against a club staring at relegation. This time it was Queen of the South that showed up our lack of quality and Lee Connelly scored the opener in the first half with Willie Collum waiving away appeals for offside. Same old same old from Inverness in a dire first half. We looked to have got out of jail when the Queens defenders made a hash of clearing a long kick out from Mark Ridgers and Billy Mckay accepted the comical defending to prod the ball home. If ever a man needed a goal it was Tom Walsh who has been totally ineffective this season, but score he did after being sent into the box by Mckay before drilling the ball behind Josh Rae. Phew we all thought, thank feck for that! Alas we shot ourselves in the foot, or more accurately David Carson shot us in the foot as he teed up substitute Ally Roy who had only been on the park for one minute. Surprisingly we actually jumped back into second place thanks to other results, but it's a complete mystery how we have done this given the dross we are subject to at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1 - 1 Raith Rovers - Report
Title challengers clashed at the Caledonian Stadium for the second time this season and it was only Killie that benefitted after a score draw in the Highlands. A spectacular strike from Ethan Ross put Raith in front as the hosts struggled to create anything. Mark Ridgers had to be alert to deny Ross Mathews a second goal to keep it at one before the interval. We upped the pace after the interval, but chances were still at a premium early on. However, our pressure paid off when Reece McAlear lashed a low shot behind the outstretched Jamie Macdonald from near thirty yards to level the game, and despite efforts from both sides it remained 1-1 at full time.

First home game of the year has third placed and fellow title contenders Raith Rovers coming North to face second place Inverness at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday. The game is scheduled to kick off at 3:00pm, but given the recent weather and covid restrictions, don't hold your breath. This game has a restricted crowd of 500 Willy Wonka golden tickets allocated. Fear not if you failed to get a hold of a ticket as ICTV will be streaming the game at a mere £15.
