  5. Crosspost from the Nathan Shaw thread : We will see how he does ... Over the years we have had equal measure of turning jobbers into decent players for us - who then return to being jobbers when they move elsewhere - but we have also signed some out and out duds who never live up to whatever potential someone saw in them. There is a key phrase in that article for me and it is 3 simple words - "reignite his career" . The lad was playing for Celtic as a youngster and had played for Scotland youth before having to drop a couple of leagues after Hamilton so he's clearly not a bad play

  7. Pretty good stuff. Thought the second half might lull after going 6-0 at half time but the youngsters who came on brought new pace and enthusiasm. Some real talent in there. Trialist looked decent - Zak Delaney (?). Thought the boy from Alloa looked pretty sharp as well. McKay looked good as well. Couple of big lads there too! Great to see the possession the young lads kept. just good to be back out again!

  10. Surely bespoke is a very accurate description as the strips will all have to be personally made for a variety of fat, bald, sad old Jeggie bestards. 🤣🤣

  11. For some reason I am getting caught up on the use of the word 'bespoke'. Its not bespoke, its off-the-rack, which is the complete opposite. How many people throw that word around to make things sound pretentious and don't bother realising that, when referring to clothes, it means custom tailored, hand made, or at the far end of the definition ...made-to-measure even if those measurements are then entered into a machine to cut the fabric . Cant see anyone tailoring the shirts on the rack for each buyer so its just a shirt! Ok, rant over - as for the shirt itself, kinda like it, even as a

  13. Why is it the only time we hear from him is when they want money. Ie season tickets Concert tickets etc what happened to the night at the Caley club when him and the chairman said there was going to be much more communication with the fans as we are the lifeblood of the club. Seems like all forgotten now

  28. Superb as usual lads. Thanks for asking my questions, and getting the answers. The content was informative and entertaining, and it looks like the way forward is optimistic. I think it was said that Inverness Thistle last won the league fifty years ago, but it was thirty five years ago 1986/87 season. I was also there to witness them winning back to back league titles in 1971/72 & 1972/73, and it was the 71/72 league title win where Caledonian beat Elgin City 5-3 to give the Jags the win, A match I attended, and it was indeed some game. Three clubs one history should, in my view,

  34. This, for me, is the shirt that we have been wanting for such a long time. When I say we, I refer to myself and my son. I really believe that this shirt will be a big seller, and I can see it being a hit with the away support as well. Well done ICT and whoever was responsible for it.

  39. Because he's kicked lots of balls and has shown that to be the case? The whole "judge me on what I do from here, not what I've done till now" is the same BS argument being used to keep Boris in power. I'm not sure a playing career that's been in constant decline is any indication that "he's not a bad player", quite the opposite. I think Jock is justified in his appraisal and he didn't actually say that Boyd shouldn't be given a chance, however it's for the player to perform and change minds, not to expect nobody to judge him on what he's achieved (or not) till now.

  40. That's not what the Alloa fans are saying but then it's a Rice quote so we can take that with a pinch of salt. He has hardly lit his Managerial roles up since leaving us. Proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say ... a Rice pudding! Sorry couldn't help myself.

  41. It shows a lack of consistency and a lack of money. Each player is different so yes it can be both. Every team signs the odd jobber now and again but we like to recruit jobbers for key roles such as those in front of goal. Boyd will need to seriously up his game because the Alloa fans were less than complimentary about him. Shaw is a good young player looking to break into fulltime pro football. Some might argue that Shaw is a risk but he has something about him. We lack ambition because we take a punt on jobbers like Boyd who will be a benchwarmer at best - we should be recruiting more younge

  44. Are there any plans to encourage active travel to the stadium? Bike stands perhaps? When will the minutes of the last fans forum be released? Will it be by 2023? Will there be any further fan forum type meetings? Is there a strategy to engage with the Supporters Trust going forward? Are there any plans to improve the 'match day experience'? Will the West Stand have a proper roof installed after the concerts are done and if so how will it be funded? Do you feel communication with fans generally has been sufficient over the last season or so?

  45. I wouldn't put these players in the unidentified/unrealised talent category. They are guys who, as you rightly describe them, are jobbers. They have obvious talent, but bounce around clubs because they generally only perform at any one place for a short period of time or they have a knack of pissing people off and get moved on. The genius with many of these signings is that if we get a good first season or so out of them, then Ross County come calling and we offload them before they turn sour.

The winner for this season voted for by you is Shane Sutherland.

Shane began well at the start of the season and picked up points throughout the season coming on to his best form in March, April and the start of May before being injured in the away game at Arbroath.  A well deserved winner and hopefully he will make a good recovery from the serious injury picked up at Gayfield. However, early indications are that Shane will be out long term. Congratulations on winning this trophy which was held for the last two seasons by runner up David Carson and a speedy recovery Shane.

    • St Johnstone 4-0 Inverness CT - Premiership Play Off Final 2nd leg
Inverness Stay Put: It was a winner takes all game tonight after a dramatic 2-2 draw at the Caledonian Stadium on Friday night. Inverness were bolstered by the return of Danny Devine and Wallace Duffy to the squad after their harsh dismissals at Arbroath. A big following went down to Perth, alas after a tremendous first half where we created the better opportunities, it was all undone within a minute of the restart by substitute Stevie May. A second goal killed any lingering hopes from a deflected MacPherson shot. The final two goals from Hendry & Rooney mattered not when the game was being chased and the dream ended, but the memory lives on. Fantastic endeavour from the Caley Jags and a magnificent following on the night.

    • St Johnstone -V- Inverness CT - Play off final 2nd leg
One Game Shootout: Well well, after the drama of Friday night, it all comes down to this game in a winner takes all final. It's another blank canvas after a 2-2 draw at the Caledonian Stadium for the final game at McDiarmid Park Perth on Monday night at 7:45pm. We can thank Reece McAlear for that after his two stunning second half goals cancelled out two first half goals for the Perth side. We should have Danny Devine and Wallace Duffy free from suspension after the Willie Collum debacle. (I notice he was also rubbish in the Showpiece Scottish Cup Final as well. Seriously useless. Maybe VAR will make our refs pull their socks up). Unfortunately, Nick Walsh is allegedly the man in the middle on Monday. That also gives me the fear more than St Johnstone.

    • What a turnaround: An understrength Inverness struggled badly against a solid St Johnstone who took a two goal lead into the interval. Shaun Rooney and Melker Hallberg put the Saints in the driving seat. However, step forward Reece McAlear and take a massive bow. A thumping strike off the underside of the bar and an exquisite curling free kick levelled matters and gives us something to play for in the return leg at Perth.

    • Inverness CT -V- St Johnstone - Premiership Play-Off
Play Off Final 1st Leg: It's the second time we have faced St Johnstone in a crucial promotion encounter at the Caledonian Stadium. This game kicks off on Friday night on 20th May at 7:45pm. The last crucial one was back in 2004. It was Saturday 15th of May when Inverness beat St Johnstone 3-1 to top the League on the final day of the season. It took a bit more wrangling to finally clinch promotion after a legal battle, but we got there.
