  1. I don't think there will be any players coming in in January, I think the 6 months deals are to get us through the horrible injury list we have.
Getting some of these guys back fit and well may be like a new signing for the team.

My only real concern is that we have so many players out of contract at the end of the season.  We have a lot of players I'd like to see us keep at the club.
If the board realise many of us think this is a concern.  I am sure they do and that they know what they are doing but I'd still like to see some contracts being renewed/extended.

I'd like to see points on the board too but that's another matter!

  2. Will the management team be offered a new or extended contract? Do they want one? Their stock was high at the end of last season, less so at the beginning of this one.

    That's very harsh!
We've not had a good start and things are not looking particularly rosy either but I think we all know we want to keep Yogi here.
(obviously not the folk who are desperate for the day they can say "I told you so - never wanted him in the first place" but we'll ignore them)

  3. I know we are all disappointed that Ryan has been sold and that we didn't get more for him but that does not mean that Celtic have done anything wrong in the way they have gone about their business.  You may think Celtic paid too little for him but where were the better offers?  Why on earth should Celtic pay more for a player than the selling club is prepared to accept?  Our Board were under no obligation to accept any offer so if you are unhappy about the sale have a pop at the Board for accepting the offer and for not having Ryan on a longer contract, or have a pop at Ryan himself if he was unwilling to move anywhere other than Celtic.  Exactly what aspect of the deal (as much as we know of it) shows unfairness and a lack of respect on Celtic's part?

We may wish the league to be more even but it is what is and Celtic, quite rightly, will look after their own interests first and foremost.  They know they are going to win the league at a canter and their focus is on Europe.  But bear in mind that if Celtic are successful in Europe then we all benefit.  Had Celtic reached the group stages of the Champions league then there would have been a considerable payment to all the SPL clubs.  Let us hope that next season Ryan's contribution can help Celtic reach the Group stage and benefit comes to us and the rest of our league as a result.

  4. If we got Stokes on loan for the season, when you think of that financially, ie: how much his wages would cost us over a season it works out financially as a very god deal.  Providing we still get at least £500,000 for Ryan of course.
(I'd still rather we didn't sell him to Celtic)

  5. Maybe "Absentees" is the wrong word then perhaps?

Saying that we "have lost our entire first team" is distorting the situation in a very negative way I feel.
We have lost 4 players who are very hard to replace, 5 if you include Ofere.  However the club/management did what they could to retain these players.
These players have gone.  They are no longer concerned with ICT.  Our current squad, injuries and weaknesses (ie: scoring goals, not conceding) are our concern.
Again, players out injured v those who are not then I can see a point to your comparison.  Otherwise I just feel it's negativity for the sake of negativity at a time when it's really not needed.

Apologies if I am reading your post wrong.

  6. I don't understand why you are listing players who have left the club here.
Players who we have out injured v those who are not I can understand the comparison.
But what's the point in listing those who have left?  Why not just put Dennis Wyness in there too?

  7. Its not just about being able to hit a penalty its about dealing with the pressure at the crucial stage of a game. Tansey proved this, the gamesmanship from Celtic taking as long as possible to change keepers in the semi, packed Hampden with Celtic fans - yet he was totally unfazed and never looked like bottling it, other than Draper or Foran I'm not sure who else in our squad mentally could have done that.

Foran deal with the pressure of that?
Looking at those stats, Richie is not so good from the spot under pressure, particularly shoot outs.

Let's leave the penalties to Mr. T then.

  8. Slightly skewed statistic there Yngwie.
Ok, it is true but by the same logic he's only scored two more goals this season for us than Dennis Wyness has!

Anyway, let's hope he adds many more this season.

  9. I was on your bus DBJ and want to thank you again for all your work.  Everything went so smoothly and we all had a great laugh, we're all very grateful.
And a lot of money being donated on behalf of ICT supporters, just like the trip - this leaves me with a smile!

Thank you.  Next game I see you at there will be a beer with your name on it. :ictscarf:

Do you also know that Destinies in Motion, our newly minted and printed very large Fantasy, also features very clever Romanian gypsies who help one of the novel's heroes fulfill his destiny--and he's from another dimension too.

YOU CAN'T SAY THAT WORD!!! :redcard:
I'm reporting you to the t'interweb police SP.  I'm soooooooooo offended.

  10. Couldn't help but notice that Owain Fon Williams has new followers on twitter...namely David Raven, Greg Tansey & James Vincent. I think we have a new goalie...

I didn't care for the post from the second chap in that link:
    "
Maybe if he does well up there one of the big Scottish clubs or a champ side will come in for him in Jan."

But the next guy put him in his place for us:

"Great club Inverness , when working up there used to go watch them play, bit cold mind but great town.

Good experience for the lad and maybe regular game time .

Inverness are one of the big clubs up there, 3 last season"

He forgot to mention we won the cup and playing are European football but still good work Taff!

  11. I'd pay that Don, no worries.

And on a similar note, would there be any chance of getting the "A Night to Remember" video on DVD?  As in an official club DVD, I'd buy it.

PM ME MATE!! Have 2, £5 each, will send through as long as your in Britain!

Thanks, I've got a copy now.  There's some very kind folk on here. :twothumbsup:
