    Ticket Prices

Only the hard-core supporters will attend the remaining games - lowering the prices would only attract an insignificant number of new supporters. As a shareholder, I therefore applaud the club's decision to extract the maximum amount of cash from the few people who will attend the remaining games. :001:
  2. It's the hat! (and the resolution) :029:
  3. Well I won't be there, and I'm pretty positive about that! It's a long journey to home games for me (even longer to away games) and I've been getting really pssed off mulling over our recent pss-poor performances over the 3-hour journey home. It's not a personal, one-man boycott or anything like that - I've just had enough for this season. Falkirk was the final straw. But I'll be back next season, full of positivity and hope. We never learn!
  4. That's what I mean SMEE - parents don't teach them right from wrong; don't teach them respect - neither self-respect nor respect for others. When the parents don't have it, it's very unlikely the kids will!
  5. I blame the parents . . . . . . .
  6. Yeah - good, eloquent report. Your efforts are much appreciated, IHE.
  7. Hmmm! Clown-like . . . . . . . pisses people off . . . . . . d'you wear a suit IHE? :001:
  8. Was just thinking that too Johnboy - Derek Adams that is. Why break from our tradition of plundering the best County have to offer? Certainly worth considering, in my humble opinion.

    Safe

Amidst all the doom and gloom, perhaps we should be thankful that, following Gretna's humping at the hands of Celtic today, we are now mathematically safe from relegation. Time for a winning streak, now that the 'pressure' is off!!? :003:
  10. Sadly, and entirely due to the existence of this thread, we ain't going to score that thousandth goal. Not this season anyway. Let's just hope for SPL survival on the strength of whatever goal-less draws we can achieve, together with points already accumulated. Thank goodness for Gretna! :017:
  11. "Was like" used to mean "Was similar to". Now it means "Said".
  12. No need - he's got a whole county named after him! :015:
  13. Boots had one of the better selections of records in the early 70's - the shop was at the Inglis St. / High St junction where prozzies gathered. Allegedly. Seem to remember John Menzies had a decent selection too. (Of records, that is)
  14. Totally agree Alex - the whole Gretna thing has been a farce from day 1. They've achieved Mileson's dream and now they're facing reality. I would expect their descent to their true position in Div 3 to be a rapid one. They've had their day! :sillywave:
  15. Were you at that game too Charles? Don't remember seeing you! :015: And was Harry Smith a plumber or a sparky? Was he indeed No.7?
  16. Yes - I remember my first game. Details are a bit vague though. 1964 or 1965 probably - Caley vs. Deveronvale I think, and I suspect the score was 2-0. Caley keeper - somebody Smith as I recall, made a fantastic full-length save. Remember being particularly impressed by the work rate of Caley's No.7, Harry Smith I believe. Even more impressed when he came round the house a few weeks later to do some plumbing. Or was it electrics? **** I was only 7. Or 8.
  17. I think you do Broonie an injustice 4ize, seems to me he's quite respectful to his old club. If you want real scandal from that radio clip though, try counting the number of times he says "obviously". If everything was that obvious, why did they need to interview him? I lost count I was laughing so much! :015:
  18. Yer awfully mysterious, Sophia! A bit of a non-story it would seem. Phrases like "it is understood . . . ." and "it is thought . . . . " don't lend much concrete to it all. How do you recruit a "feeder-club" anyway?
  19. Why on earth would you want to change it to English? :015:
  20. Tokely has always struck me as an individual rather than a team player and is still capable of some brilliant performances. But it seems either he's outgrown ICT or we've outgrown him. Perhaps he's one of these "luxury" players, like Juanjo or, dare I say, Niculae who might relish a forward role and bang in a couple of goals when we're already 3 - nil up. As a defender though, I think he's peaked and is no longer reliable. Leaves a big hole and is rather ponderous. That's not to say he couldn't come back though. But yes - he has to earn his place like everybody else. He played in goal once, against Livingston, when Jimmy Calder got sent off and performed quite well. Maybe he should reset his sights and give Ike a bit of competition! :015:
  21. An implement for carrying things. With an extra "t".
  22. Gretna play in Motherwell. Not very well though, by all accounts. :015: :015:
