  1. Blumen shame, so it is. Putting a guy in a position in which he does not feel comfortable or plays well? Well I am off tae maah bed ...but before that happens I am going to get a wee Gil-lac. :_wink:
  2. Welcome Dave. Englishmen are getting more numerous up here in Inverness and we have a corker in the Manager's seat. He's AMBITIOUS. Which suits us down to the gropund. And there is no need to worry about Laurence's age --- he is ageless. :_panting:
  3. George Besat was a wee thing as well but his skill was m,esmerising. :_fart:
  4. Good heavens we've got an old one here. Laurence is 67 and only IHE is older than him but less old than the Pimple and Jock Watt in first place who is a veteran. They are catching us up Jock. Jeez , if you pass on then I will have to gloss over IHE's grumpiness so I don't have a heart attack from stress.
  5. :_thumbup: Thank you Yngwie! You'r a brick.
  6. The players used to be numbered from 1 , the goalie, to 11, the left winger and 7, the right winger and so on. That was in the olden days and it was simple and easy to identify who was playing in what position--names did not appear on the backs of the shirts as I recall. This worked very well with the former traditional positions like centre half, right half, centre forward etc, but now, with the positioning all chopped and changed around, I don't think this would work effectively. More's the pity. Seems that changes have been made now more for change's sake rather than for improvement. The game has been forced into permutations and numbers now and a lot of the verve has been lost.IMHO. :_shocked2:
  7. Sting in the tail eh Buckett? :_lol: Thought for the day, though. :_panting:
  8. Starchief--Bullard is not coming to Parkhead. But I was watching Neil lennon's interview carefully and that gent is no dummy. In fact I was surprised how lucid and possessed of common sense he appeared to be. He may have been a "wee, diving nyaff" on the park to some but the impression that he left with me is that he is much more insightful and intelligent than many might think. And he has major contacts all over the place, a good support team and some money to spend. So the team may take time to gel but Celtic will need to be treated with a healthy dose of respect on opening day or it could be a very bad day at the office. For me the buzz words are preparation and caution.
  9. The poster who said that Philadelphia are a lowly(poor?) team was mistaken. That team beat Toronto a couple of weeks ago and were industrious and skilful. Celtic beat Seattle, and then Sporting Lisbon in their last game of their North American tour and have signed several experienced, high-profile players. One of their new signings from Mexico, named Juarez or Suarez, played for Mexico in the world cup. So Caley Thistle hopefully will be taking their visit very seriously.
  10. Celtic are also being aggressive in the type and number of players that they are signing/ pursuing. The opening game may be too much for our team to handle unless Terry says..."boys the only way we have a good chance of winning is to go all out in attack and let our great goalies handle the green deluge" . Could be a good game or a very defensive, dour struggle. Either way I predict that it will give both the Manager and the fans a whole lot to think about. Celtic may have some (new) dark horses in the pack but they all have lots of experience so let's see what happens. I hope the whole team but particularly the defence arte very fit by opening day. :_talktalktalk:
  11. Better get your tickets now lads and lasses 'cos methinks it will be sold out. :_thumbup:
  12. Iam cautiously optimistic and very excited. Beyond that, life experience has taught me that nothing is ever what it seems. :_header:
  13. Pull My Finger. Thought it was subtle , myself. :_wave: But then, I am only a loughly Pimple. Still I am ;oughthe to criticise since you are a lovely lad. :_sleep:
  14. Could not find it under gallery. Not on yet Scotty?
  15. All we expect is that he does a good job whenever he is played. He sure looks like Mel Gibson in a kilt. His cousin, maybe. That's probably why he was playing for that Sydney team--Yeah! That's for sure.
  16. Antwerp girl I don't want to scare you or anything but for thrills go to the official Inverness Cadonian Thistle website , click on (video) highlights (of last season), pick any match and enjoy. First, to view, click on the right side "wmv" icon which will open up the match automatically. Do you run WINAMP? My favourite matches on these videos are AYR away and Raith Rovers at home. Great goals!!!!!!
  17. Incredible. Great effort from the lads. IMPRESSIVE.
  18. Terry is not so diplomatic ... --he is just bl..dy frank and earnest.
  19. Yes ,and Celtic are beginning to get into gear. They won in Seattle (North West Coast of USA)2-1 a couple of days ago, I think the score was --leading by 2 goals at one point. Lost the other two to the new guys Philadelphia Union and Manchester United. I watched Philadelphia beat Toronto at the weekend. I figured that a draw would have been fair-both teams had the edge de temps en temp but pHILLY HAS QUITE AN IMPRESSIVE HARD-WORKING TEAM. i AM OFF TO THE vANCOUVER wHITECAPS ON THURSDAY NIGHT SO i HOPE THE game is worth the drive .
  20. So, Renegade, for you it is not a questionb of ...."Lough and behold, hail our saviour"......
  21. Caution! The youngsters came on good in Div 1 but what about the SPL? They could take a few games to settle. This is not Easy Street at all. Caution!
  22. Well-- that's a switch and no mistake. Think it will take a bit of getting used to . But all hands to the pumps and Bob's yer Uncle. :026: Good luck, Scotty. Hope you don't have too many headaches from now on. But why are the emoticoms not coming up? Most of them are red-crossed out??????? Cheers, Scarlet
  23. IHE -- your point then is that he must have been picked for his ability to get along with folks. My point, exactly...... :008:
  24. The old adage.."the best defence is attack" is as true today as it was yesterday. :008:
  25. Gtringo --you just know that a honka is a very big nose, mun? :P
