  1. Och! IHE. Scarlet has had brain aneurisms for most of his life. Saves him from facing up to the realities, miscommunications, prejudices and intolerances of this unholy, greedy world on many an occasion. Because of these conceptions, and his impending death in the not too distant future, he is desperately trying to see the bright side of things and people before he goes. Which no psychologist or psycho-analyser has ever been able to understand, thinking as they do that he is already a complete, inane, lost cause. Sigh! C'est la vie. Keep up the good work and opinions, old chap! Someone out there may be listening. Kind regards, Daddy Pimpernell.
  2. Oh , golly gosh, you are so good at sewing the seeds of doubt ..GRRR!
  3. DD. Unfortunately, in order to have a wee look at that video, you would have to emigrate to an overseas location, register on Caley Jags , get a User name and P/W (very easy) and pay 5 pounds which IMHO is very good value all round. My recollection is that he went through the ball and took out the player in the succeeding long sliding tackle. Maybe you are right and he never actually touched the ball but I cannot believe that. However, at least one other poster commented that it was never a penalty ...! So.....it's water under the bridge now isn't it.
  4. I'm glad to see Fisher in the team selected by IHE which I like. But Tansey should play because it's just possible that he may have deeper feelings about ICT than is inferred by negative denial of his effort today. And he may well want to really impress his new club. If he did not want to show them how good he is he would have to have suffered a brain aneurism. So put him in because his work today was special.
  5. Not a problem,Hawkeye. We are just seeing it from different angles. Last word from me is basically that the ball WAS at the feet of the lad but he probed it forward, or lost control, and Brad saw an opportunity to get in really quickly to stop any further chance of the other player getting it back. He hit the ball fair and square AHEAD of the Killie player. But also note that the player saw him coming a mile away, knew he was in the penalty box (!) and made NO move to jump up in the air or avoid the lunge in any way shape or form. It seems with all that is at stake these days players have become very smart at expecting and encouraging, or just NOT avoiding, tackles to get a decision. And, as I mentioned, I am very suspicious why this ref was SO biased against ICT in this match.....the references made above by other fans to his often ludicrous decisions, as seen by me as well, are uncannily accurate. Madden's display on the day was a disgrace. And don't forget, sitting at home looking at my video I have the BEST VIEW IN THE HOUSE of all angles. And Don Johnston is one very special commentator who has done his homework I can assure you. He displays passion and knowledge, along with accuracy of assessment and clear enunciation and brings in Liam (who?) frequently for additional comments.
  6. First off, how can you win when a very poor referee named Madden (call me mad for short) awards fouls and a penalty against ICT when the other team comes out looking like Angels in his book. A totally poor performance on this referee's part today and left the indelible impression that he was definitely biased against ICT for some unknown reason. The penalty--maybe my advancing age is stopping me wondering why that was a penalty? It looked bad all right but If the defender goes for the ball first, and gets it strongly as he did without the attacker being near it, then takes the legs out from under of the opposing player because he is going so hard he can't stop please advise me in my dotage why that is a penalty? As for the game itself : Tansey had an outstanding game with real effort all round and he tried so hard to get things going. Cole has ability for sure but was largely ineffectual on the wing with his final ball and maybe his supply from other players was sadly lacking. McNaughton worked hard and gets full pass marks from me for effort-- showed his experience and coolness under pressure on a continuous basis. But, with his hair being greyed out nearly, how long can he last..? Fon Williams did very well too and seems to have recovered his agility and self confidence. But the latter part of the second half almost sunk us and by then the writing was on the wall. Fiddling and faddling with little on the way of hard running and the direct approach right into the face of the opposition we could not get a shot on goal. Billy was well nigh nullified by some good hard work on the opposing side and that was that.
  7. A fresh Mulraney and Billy must stretch the defences, swinging balls into the goalmouth consistently at every opportunity. Both guys are fast and furious and have the ability to torment and exhaust the defence. Hopefully the forwards will be in the box waiting.....? With all that's at stake in this game it could be a cracker. Looks like Richie is going to play Greg Tansey as much as possible before he departs. It's "get points time" so that strategy is smart and I doubt very much that Greg will not respond. In short he has everything to gain by playing his heart out in the remaining matches. If he takes a penalty and scores everybody will be sooooo happy : the fans, Aberdeen, Richie Foran and Kenny Cameron.
  8. Now that's a classy post from our new visitor from the East, DonInPeace. Where is Donview when you need him with his input? In view of Tansey's drop in form it is a little bit surprising I must confess. What has gone on behind the scenes we will probably never know but this move may well have been on the cards for quite a while. Anyway we should wish him "well" because he seems to be a decent lad all told. Going round the doors handing out jerseys to the youngsters with a smile are positive gestures that we should note amongst other things. Whilst wishing him well at Aberdeen I can't help but have a nagging feeling that unless he can pull out top form in most matches his glory days may actually be past. On the other hand it is also entirely possible, in view of the fact that he is not yet an "old-un" that he may be rejuvenated by the bigger scene and get fresh energy and fresh , enthusiastic, legs. Let's wish him all the best. Meantime, it is also noted with some interest that the Aberdeen City Council has not approved the transfer to their new stadium and the club may have to actually change their drafted plans, not to mention their ambitions, to satisfy the Aberdeen Council's wishes. Anybody able to throw some more light on this?
  9. ICTF since 94.......... C.B may be opinionated but "Obnoxious" is flat out personal abuse. But expressing HIS opinion is his right , whether you agree with it or not, and that's the way he expresses himself . So.? He's unlikely to change now, but are you? You were on here only five minutes, literally five minutes, and you referred to S.P., in your opinion, as "being on something". And that is personal abuse also. The only thing that S.P has been on in his entire life is his hobby horse. He's the court jester who tries to liven up a world filled with pain and sorrow, brutality, extensive starvation , murders and rape, chaos and corruption and so forth ad nauseam. In Syria certain factions are continuing to deliberately target and bomb hospitals in order to wipe them out, for goodness sake. Our food is genetically modified, or chemically altered, tasteless rubbish and global warming is a very real threat to our existence, yet countries still ignore it. I go on the BBC website for world news every day and I shudder to think of what is eventually going to happen to this world if this continues. And therefore I come on here to relax and engage in lively, positive discussion, nothing else. And don't forget that in the days of yore, Court Jesters were the link between the powerful kings of the realm and the other ambitious, lower ranking but often dangerous, courtiers. Picked because they were very intelligent and useful tools of state who were often skilled negotiators and knew how to get and disseminate information at Court without causing deep offence to anyone. Don't apply for the position after S.P dies since your comments are impetuous and unwise. And I don't think you have yet paid your dues and acquired the knowledge and right to be that critical and very personal. As for the comments from one of the above members on here about old farts not having the right to their opinion about Caley Thistle, etc., I went to my first game at the age of 11 or 12 in Inverness and have never changed my allegiance to my football team in Scotland, even if I do live about 6,000 miles away. I just found ways to keep into touch about everything. So, IMHO, my opinion is as valid as anybody else's even if old S.P's memory is flagging and boredom is a problem.
  10. Compliments from the a cold and rainy day in the Wild West of Canada. Lovely day for a match and wonderful video. This is great stuff from good cameras and fair and very adequate commentary. At some time in the future an addition of clock timing discreetly showing on the screen if at all possible would be an asset that would complete the presentation. IMHO. Just a wee suggestion. Thank you. Have a great day.
  11. O.K O.K.! Now the video and the commentary is back on. Thank you!
  12. Don The video and the associated sound commentary has just faded out of my computer completely leaving a blank screen? Any thoughts. Teething problems? Hope it's just a temporary glitch. What a beautiful day in Inverness and the pitch looks fantastic as well! Fantastic video and we overseas fans have the best seat in the house.!
  13. Daylight Savings Time starts in the U.K on 26 March 2017.
  14. Nope! My ticket entry shows invalid number but maybe I am one hour too early. Keeping my fingers crossed. Anyway I.m off to make a cup of tea. and maybe have breakfast.Smile.
  15. Yeh. I.m sitting here at 7.15.am this morning in Western Canada trying to access the match. Wondering why
  16. This would look very nice if the upper white strips were not extended so far out over the shoulders. Stopped at the top of each outer stripe would look classy.
  17. As far as the club's liability to pay for rehabilitation of a player's injuries whilst at the club, would they not have insurance to cover such eventualities?
  18. Guadeamus igitur, JUVENTUS dum sumus. Well, c'mon this IS a football site isn't it? Otherwise a translation into plain English will do me fine, Charlie.
  19. Well IHE is right about the Ides--up to a point. They occur on the 7th March but occasionally, due to something about the Romans or their calendar, on the 15th. I am sure our resident scribe, the Charles, will enlighten us. However, it's an omen all right......?
  20. Eagle for Caley. Harbour Road--wasn't that Shore Street ....? Your post --Factual. Deffo not histrionic, even the three "C"s....Cool, Calm and Collected. You are such a good fan of ICT ! As for Julius Caesar, maybe I knew him in a past life because tomorrow, 7th March, is my birthday AND the Ides Of March. At 79 I think that only Jock Watt is an older geezer on here.
  21. When Celtic get the ball their mates always seem to be ready to run into open space and do so immediately and inevitably they are there to receive the pass from the player in possession. That's training and foresight. Not only that, they don't hold onto the ball for long so they pass with precision and speed and frankly I feel that their opponents just can't take it all in gasp of breath and by the time that they get it, it's too late. Vigurs--I watched his face closely when he ran up close to our side of the camera and the expression on it was revealing---a combination of honesty, real concern, slight anxiety and portraying a feeling of commitment as well. I.e. NOT the feelings of a nonchalant, non-committed player. Time to ease off on him and we just have to hope that Richie knows his players well enough to inspire them with his private words, reminding them of their abilities and urging them on to be the best they can be. If it's our karma that we are going down, then we are going down and nothing is to be gained by absolute negative feelings, utterances and whining. Richie's after the match comments were hardly likely to inspire. Sure he was deeply disappointed and maybe very frustrated but throwing the players to the wolves by saying they were frightened little pussies is self-indulgent emoting and should at least be confined to the dressing room where the public can't get an earful. Not only that, but it occurs to me to ask why he didn't warn them advance of what they might expect emotionally if Celtic surged ahead......
  22. Me Tarzan you Mojo, IHE?
  23. Celtic players are more relaxed and very confident and prefer to pass, and pass quickly, rather than getting into long penetrating runs.-- and usually before the opposing players get anywhere near them. Which meant that Caley had to run around trying to pick up loose balls, etc. before they could even start an attack. Slick, swift passing and ball control from Celtic killed us and rarely if ever did they try a blooter, except over the bar at times. They are not a particularly speedy team but positioning and very accurate passing and ball retention are their strong points. They are calm , possessed and disciplined.Truly though, goalie errors did seem to lead to 50% of the goals against us. Our boys did well in the first half until that goal just before half time seemed to knock them right out of their stride. In the second half things just plodded along without any real threat thereafter and they had a hard time both getting and keeping the ball and had disjointed positioning in attack and they sure didn't attack in waves,- you know side by side. Celtic's goalie must have had a somewhat boring and totally unremarkable day out I feel. Cole is tricky enough and he received his share of the ball but he didn't seem to achieve much at all with it and his presence just faded away. Billy seemed to be almost left out of it with hardly any accurate and direct service that could be seen and therefore simply became a passenger towards the end. I'm off--least said, soonest mended.
  24. O.K all is well. When I returned to the video it was playing and now it is half time and no issues leading up to this point. Perhaps I delayed access too close to the start (five minutes before kick-off) and this may have arisen as a result of the advised delay in the processing of the payment and the video may have simply decided to stop. Once the payment cleared it decided to start up again?
