  1. Ayr fully deserved that win last night. All over us from the get go and looked better all over the pitch for most of the game. We did get on top for a period in the second half but even then they still looked a threat on the break. Thought at the time the opener may have been offside but the videos above clearly show he was on. Bizarre from Dodds to watch us shell long balls forward to Mckay (but most of the time it was no one) and think this was okay. So many players fell flat at a time when we needed them. Worst was Allardice who had an absolute nuke of a performance. Taking on Woods instead of Doran was laughable. Just more bizarre Dodds moments that sum up our season. As I've said before results recently have been good but performances have been poor for a good number of weeks. We were able to shitfest our way past jobbers like Cove but when a decent team like Ayr comes along we're found wanting. The league next season could be the most difficult in a while and it's hard not to feel we've missed our best chances to get out of here now.
  2. Yeah this is a must win game. Anything less than 3 points and we are putting our feet up until the Scottish Cup Final.
  3. So neither clubs wanted it. Seems they were barely consulted. The majority of the fans seem against it. Debatable if the players like the idea. All this to appease the BBC and Viaplay so they can screen another match from a different country which may still overlap with the SCF. The SFA deserve all the pelters they are getting for this pathetic decision.
  4. A late KO scuppers fans who may want to get public transport back north after the match.
  5. That the SFA have not come out to rubbish this story suggests to the very cynical part of me that there is more than a grain of truth in the story.
  6. Is it just Viaplay though? Given the BBC will be screening both I'd imagine they are also heavily involved. Anyway, changing the KO time for the Scottish Cup final because of a match in another country sums up the tinpot nature of the game here.
  7. There is absolutely no chance Deas is with us next season. Not that Dodds can do much about that. I'd expect Allardice to be away as well but perhaps that is less clear cut.

    West Stand Roof

I think it would be better if they were in North Stand but other supporters have complained about them there so they feel there is no other option for them but to try and start something in the West Stand.
  9. Big preview of the match this coming Saturday on The Wyness Shuffle podcast featuring input from the Falkirk Daft podcast. Have a listen!
  10. Dundee probably should have won that. They started both halves so much quicker than we did and it felt like they had plenty of decent chances before we even got over the half way line. Some decent saves from Ridgers and fluffed efforts from the likes of Jakubiak kept things level. I felt we defended the opener poorly at the time. Opposition players allowed to much time and space and our defenders not picking up their men properly. We just seemed very slack for large parts of the game. Whilst it was a tidy finish I don't think we covered ourselves in glory trying to keep them out. Nice hold up play from MacKay to keep the ball under pressure from Sweeney and a lovely run and cross to find Samuels at the back post for the equaliser. Probably our one really good bit of attacking play the entire game before we went back to hoofball forward for MacKay and Samuels to try and do something with. A really quite bizarre performance from us. After seeing Shaw tear opponents apart on the flanks in recent weeks Dodds seems to be persisting with making him into a 10 where he hasn't looked at all as effective. Really odd that he has done this for the 3rd game in a row. The defending was chaotic at times and we really struggled with the intensity of the Dundee press at times. Any time Jakubiak or Robinson went up for a high ball Cameron was bursting forward to try and collect any knock down. Compare this to Mckay who spent an hour almost completely isolated trying to win headers against two gargantuan defenders. It was a frustrating watch. Carson was probably our best player. Defended reasonably well for the most part and slotted into midfield very well once Dodds shuffled the pack. Impressed with Hannant in the opening stages of the game for Dundee where he was giving Carson a hard time but he (Carson) eventually got to grips with him. Also thought Cameron did well buzzing all over the pitch defending and attacking. Was happy when he went off. Looks like our playoff spot is going to come down to a last day shoot out against Ayr United.
  11. He was asking about who won the ball for the equaliser
  12. Yeah it was Allardice. Both Welsh and Allardice dominated by the midfield for large parts of the game but you could see the former tiring quite badly as the game wore on. Bizarre that Dodds didn't seem to want to make any changes given this pretty obvious issue.
  13. Highlights, which I assume have been lifted off an old Pixellot (shudder) camera at Hamilton, are now available.
  14. Season 2020/21 but I have no idea about the rest. I think the point for Ayr kept them up.
  15. Missed the first 10 - 15 minutes due to a puncture on the M8 but apparently we were quite good at the start of the match. Unfortunately what followed was about 60 minutes of pretty turgid stuff characterised by ICT failing to put in anything resembling a final ball and Accies being staggeringly incapable of passing the ball to their own team mates. The game seemed to spark into laugh when a very soft free kick saw Smith find the net with the aid of a deflection. The equaliser came after MacKay crossed for Shaw at the back post who saw his initial effort blocked but he was able to bundle in the rebound . And Mckay's winner arrived after he was picked out by Welsh and he coolly passed the ball beyond Fulton to secure a massive three points. Not a particularly great performance and some players were blowing out their backsides around the 70 minute mark. It was very surprising it took us falling behind before Dodds made any changes. Boyd was disappointing and again Shaw didn't look at his most useful as a 10. The front three that started last night just didn't really work for most of the game although there apparently was a good spell at the start of the game where they all looked lively. The subs likely turned the game for us with MacKay and Samuels, whilst not necessarily turning in stunning performances, brought a good bit of pace to a sluggish team. Accies were rank rotten. They went through a spell in the second half where they genuinely couldn't find a team mate with a pass despite being under no pressure whatsoever. Hard to see how they are going to avoid either automatic relegation or dropping down via the playoffs.
  16. Joke of an offside decision.
  17. A very good three points but a very poor performance. Cove were stuffy and got a lot of players behind the ball and challenged us to break through and we struggled for long periods of the game. Once we got close to the opposition penalty area we ran out of ideas most of the time. Very few killer passes were made. Shaw in the first half was able to pick a killer pass to find Mckay and although he found the net the linesman, eventually, put his flag up. The opening goal was a low free kick effort from Vigurs about 20 yards out. It seemed that Ridgers possibly expected him to send it over the wall but instead is was cleverly placed along the ground into the bottom corner. I didn't see exactly what the penalty was given for but I thought at the time it was a pull on Doran as he got in behind the Cove defence to chase down a high ball over the top. Strange that no card was given by the referee. Mckay leathered the ball into the net from the spot to take him eve closer to Wyness' goal scoring record. Doran had a hand in the winner as well after he collected the ball in the box after a cross from the right found him. He laid it off to Harper who coolly cut inside his marker and lashed a shot past the keeper. Towards the end Ridgers pulled off a stunning save to deny Cove an equaliser. I think we just about deserved the win but it was a game that was very low on quality. There were only about 3 or 4 good bits of football played all game which at times seemed like a pre season friendly. For us MacKay and Samuels were really disappointing and both are struggling to make things happen during matches at the minute. When Doran came on and Shaw moved to the left we looked better almost right away and Boyd was also decent when he replaced Samuels. Probably time to start them both on Tuesday.
  18. An appalling first half of football.
  19. Of course after I say that there's a highlights package on YouTube now.
  20. It's a shame we rarely seem to put highlights out anymore and just have the goals if we are lucky. Does anyone know why the videos from the club have fallen away over the last few months?
  21. I think we've seen now that Shaw is best deployed wide left and running inside at opposition players. Whilst he filled a gap in the team as a ten he has looked excellent when playing on the left side of the 3 behind Mckay. Henderson compliments him well on the opposite side as well. Two very impressive players over the last few weeks.
  22. The benefit of watching the highlights I guess. We only rode our luck for a little bit. Morton got a lift from the equaliser but we ended up having some decent chances to sneak a winner before Carson's strike. I assume the penalty was given because the referee thought Ridgers clattered Muirhead when coming out to claim the ball.
  23. After a poor first half the second half showing was much better and we got a deserved win. Morton were really poor for most of the game apart from when they got a lift after their equaliser. Criminal miss from Crawford in the first half and Ridgers had to look alive to deny a well struck shot but apart from that it was pretty dull. Wonderful strike from Allardice to open the scoring from about 30 yards with a sumptuous volley. Looked like an utterly bizarre penalty decision to allow Morton to steal their way back into it and they almost went 2 - 1 up when Muirhead lashed a free kick from miles out off the bar with Ridgers well beaten. Fortunately Carson bundled his way through the home defence right at the end to sclaff a shot beyond the despairing Schawke to give us a big three points. Standouts for us were Allardice, Carson and Shaw.
