  1. If anyone requires a concession on the Megabus (Gold) from Inverness; getting in at midday and leaving after 7, let me know and I'll send the e-ticket on. Free to a good home!
  2. For me it would be any club - mostly from the English Premiership - that has tens of millions of quid pumped into them to buy players with egos larger than their talent, who care not for the club, the fans or anything else but money. Some of them don't even know how to put on training bibs

  4. In all fairness, was this not a reaction to a quite insulting (albeit a little amusing) chant at the steward who was slightly, er... rotund? I would agree that although it's a little frustrating to see the other set of supporters standing without apparent intervention from stewards, rules are rules. If you're told to sit down, just bloody sit down mun, make the most of your entrance fee by watching the game rather than winding up the fluorescent men.

  10. Hi all. I'm looking for a support vehicle to rent and/or driver who has much time on their hands! I will be part of a group who are doing a charity cycle from Hampden Park (Scotland vs. Lithuania) in September 2011. Our destination is Madrid, via Liechtenstein, and ties in with Scotland's Euro 2012 qualifying fixtures. It will be just under 2200 miles in 36 days. Our endeavour is in support of the Tartan Army Children's Charity. We require a large vehicle for a 5 week rental - either a people carrier or minibus/van will suffice. There will be a lot of equipment! If the vehicle owner, or anyone for that matter, has enough time to lend their support then we will ensure their expenses will be paid, including tickets for Scotland vs. Lithuania, Liechtenstein vs. Scotland and Spain vs. Scotland; plus, of course, a fee for rental of the vehicle. If anyone can help or knows anybody who can, please send me a PM with further information. Your assistance would be very much appreciated, and rewarded! Martin :-)
  11. As I couldn't make it up to Inverness for our game today, I went along to Easter Road; it's a 2 minute walk from my flat and I thought it would be a decent game. I turned out to be quite entertaining, despite the pitch looking like the moon - the playing surface was awful. County were very unlucky not to snatch a win from a poor Hibees side. Massive credit to the very vocal travelling support and a strong looking County team who earned a standing ovation from the Hibs support when they left the field. Hibs should, and will, be very concerned about their trip north for the replay and if County show the same spirit they did today against us on Saturday, we will need a big performance to claim 3 points.
  12. Ah, but two great holidays to Prague and Madrid...
  13. The Tartan Marchers will be there! ICT have kindly said we can do a lap of honour and so hopefully raise a bit of money, just means we have to walk 20 miles straight after flying into Aberdeen on Friday to allow ourselves the day off! Bring it on!
  14. Hi all, cheers for the messages. Been a bit of a struggle to update our progress online due to limited facilities where we are staying, so I've given up on Twitter and decided just to text our blogs to the SFA. Therefore, you can find out how we are getting on by clicking the link CaleyD provided above, we should have photos up soon too. Things are going well so far, approx 160 miles down now, will arrive in Stavanger on Wednesday afternoon should all go to plan. Taken a day off today to catch up on other commitments, and since we've had a tough last two days, all on concrete. Last night was pretty terrible, 3000 ft up and some of the worst rain I've seen, coupled with a biting arctic chill, we're all feeling it today! But on a brighter note, Norway has some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen, especially at around 5000ft, and I would seriously consider coming back if it wasn't for the crazy prices! A loose pepper is more expensive than caviar! Thanks to everyone who has supported us, hope to see you at the County game next weekend! You can donate at www.tartanmarch.com! Cheers, Martin
  15. Cheers Alex and Ross, looking forward to it now, wee bitty anxious though. Hopefully we'll get a win or this will all be a waste of bloody time :-P You will be able to keep up to date with our progress on the Scottish FA website - www.scottishfa.co.uk - who will have daily blog updates and photos, and also on Twitter - www.twitter.com/tartanmarch. 440 miles, over 60,000ft of climbing, bring it on! :-D See you all at the County game (our day of rest)!!!

  19. Thanks for the offer cmad, but we are all kitted out in that department. Could use things like a GPS, cooking equipment, walking poles and various other bits and bobs! Cheers though mate!
  20. Only just over a month until the Tartan Marchers head off to Norway to walk from Oslo to Glasgow for charity. We recently calculated our budget for the trip, and it's quite a lot of cash from our own pocket! I was hoping somebody on here would have some equipment they could lend to our cause for the three weeks? Anything would be considered, but we are especially looking for a portable cooking stove and pots n' pans. If you have anything to offer, please let me know. I can come to collect in the Inverness or Edinburgh area. Your help would be most appreciated! Beatonio www.tartanmarch.com
  21. Hello all. The Tartan Marchers, who will be walking from the Norway game all the way back to Hampden for the Macedonia game, need your help. We require somebody to drive our support vehicle through Norway, from the stadium in Oslo to the airport in Stavanger. We will all be walking through Norway between 13th and 27th August, then after a flight from Stavanger to Aberdeen, we walk the final 155 miles between the 29th and 5th September. We are doing all of this for the two nominated charities of the SFA - The TACC and Scottish Huntingtons Disease Association - and hope to raise ?5000 by the end of the qualifying campaign. The original driver we had to help out now has other commitments and can't make it, so we're looking for an experienced driver who would be confident enough behind the wheel of a minibus on the continent, and as we're not sure if the vehicle has SatNav, a good navigational sense! As an incentive for anybody to help out, the TACC and SFA would offer the driver one ticket for each game, vs. Norway and vs. Macedonia. I understand this is a big ask, financially it's a big sacrifice too - the driver would need to chip in for fuel, food and accommodation - but they would be a massive help and be involved in a very worthy cause. We will also require a driver for the Scotland leg from the 28th/29th to the 5th. Just for your info, over 22 full days of walking, the 4 marchers will be covering 430 miles. We will be over in Oslo on the 10th August, and will be shaking buckets around the city. If you're heading over, please spare what you can! We will also be coming through to Inverness on the 29th August for the County game - there is absolutely no way we're missing that! (But we'll take the train! :-P) If you are interested in driving for us, or know anybody who may be, please let me know either on here, or email donate@tartanmarch.com. To donate and check out progress, please visit www.tartanmarch.com. Your support would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Martin Beaton
  22. Agreed. I'll make most away games, much easier for me now being in Edinburgh. To be honest, I can't wait for the first division. Great away days, cheaper too, and ye cannae beat the terracing for banter and atmosphere. I don't think I'll make many home games though, barring C*unty.
  23. Saw him at my work yesterday, thought he might've been at the game personally. I said to him 'We need you back Donald, asap!', he just laughed it off and said he was devastated for us. Would be nice to see him back though.
  24. Pirlo, when he destroyed Scotland at the San Siro. Robben, when he destroyed Scotland at the Amsterdam ArenA. Anelka, Ribery, Trezeguet and Ribery when they got destroyed at the Parc des Princes. Jagielka, when he put out United at Wembley. Tokely, when he... er, when he... Hmmm.
  25. Och it was bloody fantastic, thanks for setting that one up! Great pub - but then again when you're that knackered and sore any pub is great! Seriously though, the welcome was very friendly, the pint and food hit the spot, pool table aswell... man, it was just utter bliss. A big thank you to The Coach House Inn in Aberfoyle for your hospitality.
