  1. Imagine what league we would be in if we said 'well the Highland rugby club only pay a tracksuit and a free bar at the end of the year, so that's what will we offer you to play for us'. Think until Hughes was in charge and the exception of Marius have we overpaid players for their worth in the current market. Hence why the talented players move on to bigger wages elsewhere.
  2. What a load of nonsense. We are in the championship because we overpay players compared to other sports? I have never wanted a so called sugar daddy, always preferred the community club approach.
  3. Who cares about any other sports, how they train and what they are paid? How is that relevant to Inverness Caledonian Thistle performing in the championship.
  4. Seems daft, why try to change crusaders game to a free week I presume so we can keep our fixture with pars. Then when pars offer a straightforward solution by playing us on the tenth, we say no. Now with the call off we have no game for 17 days. Later in the season, players will be playing unnecessary midweek games due to poor decision making by the club.
  5. On their website it said they offered to play us first because otherwise they would have 4 away games in a row. We refused so they arranged to play livi instead.
  6. The pars have now agreed to play livi on that date. Daft decision if you ask me. If we were to win against crusaders it will leave us with a lot of fixtures to fit in before the playoffs.
  7. Anyone know why we apparently refused a request to play Dunfermline next Saturday (10th)? Seems a bit daft when the alternative is a midweek fixture.
  8. We celebrated in Bucharest and at Hampden. These are the moments that count!
  9. I cannot confirm officially. But I would like to confirm without confirmation that this allegation sounds like nonsense.
  10. Yeah, agree about the star remark. Leave that for our premiership league title
  11. right back/centre back and centre midfielder would be nice since some wages i presume have been freed up. Only a few hours left...
  12. I love going into cup games as the underdog. Much more enjoyable then as favourites. Bring it on. Where's the pre match boozer?
  13. Glad Oakley has scored, think he might be our man, still only 20 and learning the game!
  14. Thought they worked well together. Baird was playing wide right, Doran wide left and Oakley as the target man, holding it up and laying it wide. Would be happy if they started with that on Tues. Jake to replace either wide man when they tire.
  15. Legend. Loved Roman on his short stint with us. Oozed class I thought with the odd brainfart that you get with young lads. Apparently told Terry he was going up front when the strikers kept missing chances and was told in no uncertain terms to get back to his position. Gotta love his confidence though.
  16. I had been focusing on 4th spot but now the game on Tues becomes massive. Beat them, it gives us a nice cushion from 2nd bottom and gets us looking north again. Lose and we are in battle, especially if they keep up their form. Only one way to sort it. Beat them 6-1
  17. Robbo said after the game the front three didn't follow his instructions to play further forward. He said the second half they finally listened and we saw the dividends. Thought defence looked shaky and hesitant in the first half except raven but seemed to grow in confidence in the 2nd. Polly played well overall, Trafford was in and out the game, Chalmers struggled. Thought Baird had his best game yet in the wider position, Oakley held up the ball well against strong centre halfs. Doran was decent but tired in the second half, missed two good cut back chances. Thought Bell has a sharpness that the other forward players lack, he should be starting for me. Jake was a threat in his cameo but frustrating as usual. Going to miss Raven. Need a replacement. St Mirren have a potent attacking side, happy to glide past players and swap positions. We had to attack. Made for a very open, entertaining game yet again in Paisley, but fruitless nonetheless.
  18. I dont bother with dots. I doubt he would currently break into the first 11 at the moment however it is a squad game. I would say, we are very light in the central midfield position. At the moment we only have Vigurs, Polly and Trafford. Vigurs and Polworth are likely to pick up suspensions and niggles along the season so a strong squad is critical if we want to be successful. I would rather bin Cooper and bring in Ross who can cover both wide and central midfield position, especially now Doran is fit again. Also his flexibility may allow us opportunity to change formation during games. However, this is all dependant on him accepting a squad players wage, which is perhaps unlikely.
  19. Hang on, Yogi was crying in the press saying he wanted a bigger budget to push the club onto the next level. That's why he took the huff and put himself in an impossible position. Really, which level does he expect a club with 2000 hardcore supporters. Well down to Cameron for standing up to his nonsense. Deep down we all knew the success wasn't sustainable, however the rate of the decline was more of a shock. The timing of our success was excellent, it was masterminded at the same time whilst the Edinburgh clubs and Rangers were struggling. To finish 3rd or 4th in the Premiership is much tougher than a few years back.
  20. Regarding the pies. If it is a seasons contract and the club sells to the highest bidder. From the sales of the pies on a match day, does any finance filter back to the club? If not, the quality of pies isn't really a major problem for the club. The bar I presume would be much more worthwhile to focus on to attract extra revenue. Perhaps a free bus from town that arrives at 1.30pm and leaves at 6pm. Gets punters into the bar and spending cash. Even get the youth teams minibus and shuttle run from 1pm onwards.
  21. John Hughes and the board who backed him. He stretched our finances unnecessarily, then put himself in an untenable position knowing fine he would require to be paid until further employment was found, forcing us into converting Forans playing contract into a managerial one. Foran wasn't ready but was never going to turn down the offer.
