  1. That second half performance was pitiful. We didn't even try and attack until they equalised.

First half was okay but nothing special. Barely created anything bar the goal.

I don't know if the players play with fear, or a lack of bite (I'm not saying they aren't trying, it's that bit of aggression or making that run off the ball). Mentality is half the battle.

  2. Creativity is a problem. Gardyne provided some and won't play again so he needs replaced.

Doran is getting a good run in the team. He is looking leaner and last night I thought he was looking slightly better than a very average performance that we are used to this season. Really need him to kick on and contribute some assists and goals.

I do think we have looked better when Sutherland plays in behind McKay as he runs beyond the last man but we need Walsh, Roddy, Doran etc to do the same starting from the wide areas then driving into the middle on the last man's shoulder. Sometimes our play is pretty but easy to defend against.

There is lots to fix, but if we do fix them, we are starting from a great position...well in the league anyway.

  3. Gardyne was for 'endangering an opponent'. I saw it as a late tackle but he did the old scissor kick motion which probably sealed his fate. Still soft in my eyes but I'm massively biased.

Thought MacGregor provided good energy and guile. Ridgers was outstanding. Deas did well at lb against Gino, oh Gino, Ginelli. Sutherland and the wingers played much deeper to provide much more protection to the defence. 1st half was decent. 2nd half we struggled to threaten at all and conceded too many chances.

  4. Both players had 2 spells at the club but have changed roles/positions on their return so I will only make comment on their most recent season with us.

Both are players who I would have been happy to see stay but also not that fussed they are gone. Both squad players for us.

Storey started more games last season but while dangerous due to his pace and strength often makes the wrong decisions whilst attacking. I think in Scotland, players have worked out how to play against him and his is often ineffective. Perhaps a new league will suit him and he can catch defenders off guard with his tricks/pace.

Vincent, played less due to injuries and form. He is an organiser and talker. He will try to break up play and will keep the ball. Doesn't offer much going forward. Solid, no frills player

Didn't hear him say that the new head coach will be inexperienced.

Sorry I should have clearer. Reading between the lines he was hinting that the new 'head coach' will be inexperienced/cheap option.

Several times he mentioned it could be... An assistant manager who is ready to step up, or promising coach with potential and the board would be thinking outside the box etc etc.

  7. So in summary...

    - Inexperienced head coach incoming with potential.

    - Relaying of pitch.

    - Concerts lined up.

    - Fans forum for dialogue with board.

    - ICTV to be part of season ticket package.

    - McCann was offered job and declined.

Probably missed a few bits, I'm sure someone will fill in the gaps.

  8. Slightly concerned about this. If the club had mentioned this previously as a direction they wanted to go down then I would fine with the appointment. However, if it's just a case of creating a role for someone at the clubs expense then that is unacceptable.

Most clubs pursue a sporting director (dof) as a long term strategic plan so if a manager leaves there is no upheaval and the same transfer policy/ scouting system/ youth progression etc continues and only the coaching/selection of players changes with the manager. If this is what Gardiner has been looking at then fine.

However, if it is a knee jerk reaction to a difficult call to make on the future of his pal at the expense of the club then that is wholly unacceptable. We are constantly hearing about how tight the finances are but then we create a role for someone (which won't be cheap).

I have nothing against Robbo, and he would be silly to have turned this offer down. But I am a ICT supporter and want what's best for the club. Not what is best for a man with the chequebook who wants to surround himself with his mates and they all thrive at the expense of our club.

I realise this is perhaps harsh and an overreaction but I'm just wary of unnecessary spending/short term planning which may cost the club dear.

  9. I think that's harsh on Robbo. We had a massive lay off due to call off then constant games. I think the players bodies adapting to the change in schedule (firstly getting up to match fitness/sharpness then dealing with the fatigue due to lack of fitness meant it was a slow start). I do believe this team would have been in roughly the same place if Robbo was in charge. Just my opinion but I feel the fixture circumstances were more influential to our form than the management team.

I would be happy with either manager next year but would have a preference for Robbo.

  10. I've been really impressed with Dan Mackay of late. He is far from the finished article but I think he has been in good form and probably our most incisive attacking player. His pace and directness have been troublesome for opposing defenders.

Fair play to the lad who  has been thrown into the team and played out of position. The choice was sink or swim. He was just afloat for a wee while but know has found a good rhythm to his butterfly stroke.

Essentially I just wanted to say he will be a big miss today if he is unavailable.

  11. Guess the experience of training with men and seeing the rough/tough side of a dressing room/competitive football.

He has quite a stocky physique for such a young lad. Might get more time than suggested. Maybe McCann is just lowering expectations on the youngster
