It is actually pretty worrying.  Apart from Sho-Silva we have departed company with Lopez, the promising Callum Ferguson appears to have disappeared from the face of the earth, young MacRae is not ready for this level yet and Foran is not going to regain the speed and sharpness for a striker role even if he can re-establish a place in the side.  Despite all this, Ali Sutherland has  been put out on loan to Brora which does suggest that Yogi was confident of bringing someone in.  Indeed, a couple of weeks ago he seemed quite upbeat about the chances of getting someone in, perhaps on loan, by the end of January.  Clearly nothing has happened and with Fisher injured, there is really nobody else in the squad who can lead the line.  Sure Mutombo can score goals, but his strength seems to be playing wider and creating space by taking defenders on.

We are far too heavily dependent on Storey.  I am not yet at the stage of starting a "bring back Andy Barrowman" campaign, but I am definitely worried.

Callum Ferguson has a back injury.

  2. Communication with them has been a bit....eh....challenging.  500 is the number of fans we expect to see at the game, but having talked with one of their guys last week I believe the area being given to ICTFC fans actually houses about 800.

The club are using their "VIP Seat" (I so hate that term) allocation for those travelling on the club plane, so they aren't included in the above figure.

    Ok, thanks for that.

  3. The club say that they are expecting to be allocated 500 standard match tickets for the game and there are more than 350 people booked on to Dalgetty Bay Jaggy's buses.  There are also fans on the plane which the club has chartered and I am assuming others may have made their own arrangements to get to the stadium.  Is it just me, or is anyone else concerned that we may not get enough tickets?  Don't want to get there and not get in!

  4. What's going on with Butcher in the highlights at about the 4:20 mark? He seems to be going beserk at someone in the stand. And it's not someone just behind him either, it looks more like someone way up the top.

Wondered this myself after watching last night. Maybe someone that sits in the main stand can enlighten us?

I heard it and think it was directed at the press box. He shouted something like "write about that".

  5. E-mail previously-mentioned former ICTFC employee to be removed from their mailing list. I started getting e-mails after an e-mail came out from the club that wasn't BCC'd. Very unhappy.

I've had e-mails from them too, and you are right Top Six Next Year that it started just after the e-mail that wasn't bcc'd. Have asked Highland Eventz to unsubscribe me.

  6. I couldn't care less what County get up to except to the extent that it effects us, and I am astonished and disappointed that ICT fans can be in favour of something which is detrimental to our club.

Cup success for County helps them in areas where we compete against them in a small local market - attracting new fans, attracting local business sponsorship, and attracting players.

This cup run has earned county a fortune, and a win and European football would make them even richer. The "Highland football" fans might like to consider that even if we get promoted, County would be able to offer the likes of Foran, Hayes and Rooney higher wages than we can.

So be careful what you wish for.

I agree with you completely Yngwie.

  7. Hi guys,

For your info, the shop is open monday - friday 9.30am til 4.30 pm and on matchdays.

However the shop is not manned monday to wednesday and should you require tickets or merchandise please use the front door and Emma will take you to the shop.

Also on these days, when phoning in choose option 5 instead of the shop number and your call should be answered.

I hope this has helped :(

Thanks for that info. I got through this morning and got my tickets.

  8. Did it go through to the voicemail? They're great at getting back to you if you leave a message. I was wondering if the shop is selling raffle tickets for the Rod Stewart competition - planning buying one or two on Saturday.

No, it rung for quite a while and then went to voicemail and i already have left a voicemessage and am waiting for the reply back and revbirdog, i did phone them at half 3ish.

I've had the same problem trying to get tickets for the Ross County away game -tried numerous times on Tuesday and eventually left a message. Called in at the shop on Tuesday night and was told that all the tickets they had been given for this game were sold and Ross County had sent more which would be on sale on Thursday. Same yesterday - tried loads of times and then left a message and no-one has got back to me.

  9. Hi Graham

I am a great fan of your "Sports Comment" column in the Friday Courier. I know you read this website, because you always quote something from it in your "Fan Mail" section.

As a suggestion, why not try running a column with an educational element.

I am sure that many ICT fans are, like myself, ignorant of the dealings and accountancy of big business. Could you ask the board, or one of their representatives to explain about how ICT, and particularly the stadium, is financed. There is much conjecture on here, some of it not good, and I feel that many fans fear the worst.

If you could get a definitive explanation from the board it would help clear up a lot of error.

    Yours

    Gordyfromsneck

    A fellow sports fan

I love it...but don't hold your breath for a response!

  10. Everyone who paid to get into the stadium has a right to be there. Doesn't matter if you are asleep, swearing, moaning, criticising, applauding, singing, silent, or whatever. As long as it doesn't get the club into trouble with the SFL, then it's not an issue.

Not every fan will sing. Fair enough. They are usually the majority. There is usually 1/5 of the support who sing, chant, etc at a club. At ICT it is about 1/20. That is what makes our club unique, for better or worse... I do think there is a Highland thing in it, as one poster mentioned before, but that it is just a fact of life, and they are no less of a supporter than the vocal ones.

I do think that we need to take a look at the readiness of the support to start shouting negative things. (and i've been guilty of this in the past). I really think that our away form is not a coincidence. It'snot so much that there are more songs, but that there is less negativity. The players must feel more at ease away from home.

Now, the big thing is, are the home support big enough to try and be positive outwardly for the players sake, and consciously keep the negativity inside them, for the pub afterwards.

Forget song sheets, how about sheets with these words written on them:

"you'll get it next time (name)...chin up"

    "Keep going lads, it'll come"

"You can score (name) we know it"

"Keep your head up (name), next goal's yours"

Heck, i know it sounds corny, but if you can try, for a second, to imagine what the player would respond better to, then surely it's clear that there has to be a shift in attitude, a conscious decision to change the support method.

Something has to change is right, but maybe it's the fans and I include myself in the group of people who are negative and quick to moan.

    Well said Kirishima.

  11. Whilst I agree that TB is at fault here and will probably have to go before things get better, I can kind of simpathise with him in regards to reacting to the fans. I tried to put myself in his shoes and thought, imagine if I worked in a public job for example in a shop. I'm crap at my job and a customer starts swearing at me and slagging me off. Do I sit there and take it or do I rip him a new a*sehole? I'm sorry but I'd go for the latter. Now I know that he earns lots of money and all that sort of stuff but he's only human. It's up to the board to discipline him not the fans. Yes, show him we're not happy but surely we can do that without telling him to Eff off and some of the other sh1te that gets aimed towards him. I also believe that the players although partly at fault will not get better while they are getting the abuse that they are currently receiving. I know I would not bother coming out onto the pitch after hearing some of the comments shouted at them. Don't get me wrong we shouldn't be cheering them either with the displays being shown at the moment but for god's sake we're not animals and nor are they. Respect is a 2 way street, if we don't give TB and the team some they will not perform for us. WOULD YOU?

    Rant over

I agree, also great post from Wilsy. And what has happened to our singers? - hardly any songs today at all, even when we were playing well in the first half. I do think that the singing and great atmosphere at away games must play quite a big part in our good away form.

  12. Being a manager is very difficult and I am prepare to give Butcher time to show us his wares.

What was unacceptable was his behaviour in abusing fans for leaving early. this was not a "please don't go" but a full " where do you thing you are going you f***ng a****les"!

The fans need an apology from Terry for this one!

    neksor

I actually don't blame him. Butcher was being given dogs abuse by several "fans" in the main stand which started when the score was still 1-1. I am not happy with the way things are going and am not convinced Butcher is up to the job but I do think that this is counter productive in the middle of a game. If these people want to protest, then they should at least wait until the game is over.

  13. Brewster hates caley more than us. Brewwwwwster hates caleeeeeey more than us. :)

    P.S GIRUY :024: :025:

Why don't you f**k off to Pie & Bovril - this is a Caley Thistle fans forum. What a sad lot you Ross County fans are relishing in other people's misery.
