I'm as quick as anyone to jump on Brewsters case, but there's no way I would pin any blame on him whatsoever for the sale of Marius as it was, IMO, entirely out of his hands.

It doesn't work Graham, and that's what some of us have been saying for weeks. The decision to sell Marius just now for such an (apparently) low fee has no footing at all in the world of logic. Yes it' might be good to have got a bit of cash in the bank, but once you spend that on replacing him then there's not much if anything left to make improvements. Instead the club will use the cash to sign loan deals for the likes of Rooney who will bugger off in 12 months time and we will see absolutely no return for the investment we've put in to his wages......bizarre to say the least.

I've come to the conclusion that Brewster must be the Messiah if he's going to stretch whatever portion of this money he gets into signing 3 or 4 players capable of strengthening the squad....not to mention replacing Niculae.

For a few dollars more....
We're talking about 3 fixtures for which we would have to hand over in the region of ?10k to the OF...the cost of a temp worker to come in and cover the extra admin work, if/when needed, would be peanuts in comparison.

Clicky Clicky Dinamo seems to translate as Manchester, which is a little confusing, but you should get the idea.

Niculae will be announced as a Dinamo Bucharest signing tomorrow......looking for a source I can give you all as I speak, bare with me.

With all due respect the part of your post I have highlighted is BS. I've not seen anything in the press or elsewhere which suggests that Marius Niculae has been looking for another club, quite the opposite in fact.

I think your a lot closer to the mark than some might give you credit for SMEE. I certainly don't see the club giving Brewster the funds to bring in the 3 or 4 players that's being mentioned as part of the reason for selling him and we'll be lucky if we replace him with someone even remotely comparable in terms of experience.

what is a " prevailing challenging economic climate" ??
A situation that's not been helped by Browns decision 9 years ago to increase our exposure to the Dollar, Yen and Euro by cashing in over half our Gold Reserves and slashing 5% of the Treasuries worth in the same period of time. Then despite us being fully aware of the situation we make the man Prime Minister :029: So whilst the pound was increasing in value, we were actually getting poorer as a result....don't you just love economics? :015:

Why should people have to "wait and see" with Brewster when many of us have seen plenty of him during his two spells at the club? Surely burying your head in the sand when he has already demonstrated obvious flaws is the "naive and stupid" approach?

I have to say that this would be a pretty strange loan deal. Loan deals are more often given to players expected to come straight into the team and/or are needed desperately as cover. To take in an unproven youngster on loan Brewster would have to have a lot of faith that he would add too or be better than what we already have (which granted is a little thin on the ground). If it is a loan deal then I can only assume that it is with a view to signing him at the end of it, as opposed to Brewster really having lost the plot and thinking next seasons success lies on the shoulders of young unproven players!!!

Ticket Prices....
I've got the info from last season and it was only Rangers & Celtic. The club don't have any match day ticket prices on the main site but I'm fairly sure I saw an article somewhere at the end of last season/early in the summer that said prices for "A" games had increased and/or now included other teams. I'll drop an e.mail to the club I think.

Ticket Prices....
Not sure if I'm losing it, but can anyone confirm if we've added teams to the "premium" prices this season? I've got something in the back of my mind telling me we've either upped the price of the premium games and/or added Aberdeen and maybe others.

Denmark trip thread
All depends on whether or not it gets reported back to the SFA, some countries seem to be stricter on doing this than others.

Caley pre season compared to other SPL teams
It would seem that pre-season results are only meaningless until some want to use them to prove their own point :rolleyes02:

McSwegan was signed as cover and even then it was because he was up here and going cheap.....nothing more.

Caley pre season compared to other SPL teams
I don't think that's the case at all and most of the hysteria is being generated by the "Rose Tinted Specs" brigade who jump on every topic with a "before the moaners start" type excuse, which makes it look like we've got more negativity than their actually is. We had one topic last week (forget which it was off hand) where almost the entire first page was full of "people will be moaning about xyz" and it morphed into complaints about people's negativity which didn't even exist on the thread :015: Yes, criticism does exist, but it's made to look far worse by those who are doing all the complaining about it and starting threads with statements such as the one I quoted above really don't help any and only skew the perception further.

For a few dollars more....
As ICT will be faced with the decision to do as Falkirk have done or pay-up I thought this thread deserved to be in this part of the forum. Personally I hope we do go the same was as Falkirk have done. Not because paying the OF would mean us handing over between ?3000 and ?3500 per match, but on the matter of principle. In fact, it wouldn't upset me in the slightest if the club were to give away the equivalent in free tickets to home fans for these matches to show that it wasn't all about the money.

Shearer Returns as coach
I have to say, that of all the people that have left the club Shearers departure, or more accurately the manner with which he publicised it, p!ssed me off more than any other. Whilst I don't expect him to be publicly ridiculed if he should return he shouldn't expect to be welcomed by the fans with open arms. As the saying goes...."Be careful that the toes you step on today aren't connected to the butt you might have to kiss tomorrow."

Manager under scrutiny
I suspect it was also "suggested" to CC that Marius had to be playing, but I shall concede that my point perhaps wasn't entirely clear in regards to me talking about when Brewster took over as opposed to the very start of the season :016:

The amount of trialists we have had the last few months
I'd rather that than see us signing players just for the sake of it.
