It's the added benefits like this which many people fail to take into consideration when valuing the importance of having players like Marius in the team. Not to mention the publicity which, if the club used correctly, could also add value to him remaining an ICT player.

I agree with the sentiment Alex, but we could very well be facing our toughest season yet in 2008/09 and whilst Bayne never really got much opportunity last season, he's never been anything close to prolific in the SPL and we need someone who will gives us a little more hope....especially if Niculae ends up being shipped out.

Is it too late in Baynes career for him to re-invent himself? I think we are desperate for someone in the centre of the midfield with a bit of a presence....i.e. someone bigger than those signs you get at the fairground for qualifying to get on the rides. I don't agree with the comment about his tackling, as he's the first person to go chasing a man down in the last third of the pitch and often wins possession. I think playing him in the middle of the park with his speed, work rate and physical presence could well be the making of him. Unfortunately I would agree with others about his abilities to find the net, and that means he's never going to be high on the list of people getting a start up front, so it's either change where he plays or move him on to make space for someone better.....which throws up yet another question.....who???

ICT go from one extreme to the other......from silence to saying too much. Yeah, am sure some will throw the "you can't please some people" line at me, but really...all they had to say was...... "We're currently pursuing our interest in Barrowman and we also have another couple of young strikers in our sites. Our aim is to sign a young striker with potential as this fits best with out plans." That tells the fans they are looking and gives them an insight into what they are looking for and why, and it does it without naming names or bringing attention to players who may now become targets of other teams. Since we don't appear to be in any rush, the last thing you want is to be telling the world your potential targets and having them beat you to the punch.

Some of you may have noticed that we've added a Euro 2008 section to the forum for the duration of the tournament. This can be found by Clicking Here or clicking on the Euro 2008 "Child Board" link below the Non-ICT forum on the main forum index page. Pit your Euro Football Knowledge against other forum users in the Prediction League being run by Andrew Fraser and/or the Fantasy League being run by Alex MacLeod...or just join in the discussion on Marius Niculae and his involvement with Romania or whatever other players and teams you fancy for the tournament.

I've got a funny feeling Romania are going to get something from this game against France. On paper they shouldn't, and France should win comfortably, but my something is telling me that Romania will keep a clean sheet. It might be a touch of "Marius Fever" but I've decided to go with my gut and stick some money on a Romanian Clean Sheet, a 0-0 score and them to qualify from the group. I'm kinda depending on Italy, France and Netherlands to do damage to each other and Romania to sneak through on the quiet....but hey ho, you never know.

And that's so much different from how things are at ICT how???
