  1. I don't give a toss...if he wants to announce the score then where's the harm?
  2. It'll never happen, but I'd love for them to do away with the segregation altogether for this game and just let everyone cheer for whoever they like wherever they like whenever they like. Noise from all sides of the ground at all times.....now that would make for a magic atmosphere for a Testimonial Match.

    Gretna had 56 Fans....TM4TJ, Caley100 and I all counted em :blah01:
  4. Not SFL2...but he has gone from Junior Football to SPL in a little over 2 years.
  5. You and your boonigging :029: :015:
  6. Nothing like a game such as todays to put a smile back on your face. Ok so Gretna weren't all that, but they never stopped trying for the 90 minutes, despite never looking like they were going to take anything from this game and all our goals were well taken. Zibi - Just a pity we never got to see more of him this season based on this afternoons performance. He barely put a hand/foot wrong and despite the goal (which he got a hand to) he was solid and I hope Fraser was watching how a good keeper distributes the ball quickly to allow us to catch opponents on the hop and keep the momentum going. The vast majority of the time he was getting the quick throw to a player instead of hoofing it up the park in the hope of us winning it in a scramble. Tokely - As I said after the Killie game, he's back to his best now he has Wilson playing in front of him and apart from missing the header that led to us losing the first goal he was immense through the whole game. Was one of my 2 nominations for MotM. Proctor - Did what he had to do and did it well which is what you want from a centre back. Covered well for Tokely when he was pushing forward and even got involved a bit in the middle of the park when it came to mixing things up and breaking down the few forward drives Gretna looked to mount. Hastings - Didn't do anything which made him stand out (good or bad) but his inability to turn with the ball and only able to pass in the direction he was facing when he received it made me cringe a few times. May sound harsh considering he never forked anything up or conceded anything stupid but against better opposition we might have been punished more for it. McBain - Proved again today that he is far more effective when not played on the left wing. A good solid performance. Wilson - Proved today why he is worthy of at least another year on his contract. You'd have been forgiven for thinking he was 10 years younger by the way he ran the wing today and his goal was "text book Wilson". Burst down the wing, shakes off the opposition, cuts inside and picks out his spot before drilling it home with so much pace that despite the keeper reading it he never had a chance to get to it. The other of my 2 nominations for MotM. Cowie - Set up the first and scored one for himself, but other than that I wouldn't be chalking this up as one of his best performances for us and it must have been his mother that was choosing todays MotM. Black - Had a quiet game IMO and stuck to the simple stuff like getting a foot on the ball and playing it off safely either forward or to wide players. Think my opinion might be a little tinted by the fact that we're used to at least some drama from Blacks direction and when you don't get it then it feels as if you've somehow been cheated of a little controversy to dig your teeth in to...lol. Imrie - How I would love to see him playing wide left in a 5 man midfield where he might get more opportunity to pick up a ball and run at the defence. Still a little rough around the edges but learning fast and always looks dangerous when he gets up a head of steam with the ball at his feet...I think we might have found a younger, left sided, Barry Wilson. McAllister - Probably the best performance we've seen from him since the Celtic game where he had the blinder. Still needs to do work on his speed and jumping as his close control is pretty good. I've knocked him for his lack of "striker instinct" in the past, but he was on hand to knock home the ball from the rebound so all credit there. Niculae - It became apparent early on that Gretna were going to try and mark Niculae out of the game and credit has to be given where it's due. He had 2 men on him the entire game and instead of constantly dragging them in to the area with him, whenever McAllister was in the middle Niculae dragged his markers away from the action creating a bit more space. Subs....hard to comment on these guys when they get so little time on the field, but all of them came on, slotted well into the setup and I don't think Kerr or Vigurs would have any trouble holding their own if given a little more time on the park. Great goal by Vigurs and I'm sure it will do his confidence the world of good. With us sitting so comfortable I thought Brew might have made the changes a lot sooner.....but hard to criticise when you've walked away 6-1 winners.
  7. Lacking height in defence which is leaving zibi a little exposed on high balls but he's mopping up well and his distribution puts fraser to shame. We switched off a bit after second goal.
  8. Our last Chairman was very much in to these things.....remember talks about trips to the States and forging links with the Romanian Football Academy and tapping in to the Ex-Pat community on a Global level? None of these came to fruition because, as he said himself, he came up against great opposition from certain influential people connected to/working at the club. As far as I can see nothing has changed....our new Chairman was promoted from within and we have no new blood involved which is likely to be the catalyst for the types of changes mentioned above. Will be VERY happy to be proved wrong.
  9. Or in brief....... Saturday Post Match - Falkirk to Tillicoultry/Dollar Sunday - Over the Ochils (weather permitting) to Glen Eagles, failing that it's the A823 and on to Crieff Monday - Crieff to Kenmore Tuesday - Kenmore to Dalnacardoch Lodge (including a wee jaunt up Schiehallion for those feeling up to it) Wednesday - Dlanacardoch Lodge over Glen Tromie to Tromie Bridge (east of Ruthven) waether permitting. 10. Scotland v Northern Ireland
  11. Think that's why we're looking at this guy
  12. Could be the keeper that was being discussed on the Zibi thread. Side Question......Anyone know if we can play "trialists" from other leagues that have already finished for the season?
  13. Johndo, I've never once argued with you that Marius having to drop deep to get the ball wasn't hindering his performance. What I have disagreed with is you lambasting Niculae for it as if it's his fault that he's not getting the support further up the pitch or being fed more balls in the vicinity of the goal. That's a problem that lies squarely at the feet of the man deciding the tactics. Just imagine how poor his shot count would be if he wasn't going back to collect balls!!! Problem is, he sometimes has to drop so deep that he first has to get past the midfield before he has an opportunity to "ghost past" the defenders. He's only the Messiah....not Superman (that's Rossco's job)
  14. Just got home and am now the proud owner of arms and legs that are as smooth as a baby's bottom....together with some mild inflammation and a red rash :029: Big thanks to the young ladies from Kaper Hair and Beauty in the High Street....I wouldn't say the waxing was without pain, but it wasn't as bad as I had been lead to believe so I'll put that down to me being in the hands of real professionals :004: Apologies to those in attendance who had expected at least a little screaming....sadists, every one of ya :016: Also big thanks to the Virgin Mary and her crew of delectable Angels for looking after everyone...lying listening to her doing her thang whilst being waxed was very educational and if anyone needs any beauty tips then feel free to ask me in the Innes...Confidential Service for the gents out there who may be struggling to find the right foundation or matching their eye-liner to the colour of their eyes :015: Of course it wouldn't have been possible without the assistance of the club in letting us use the room and to Liz and the rest of the staff (sorry forgot names) who were on hand to keep people refreshed etc. And last but not least thanks to those who were generously completing order forms, buying raffle tickets and generally donating to this years Charities.
  15. Just to let you know, we still have room for anyone who wants to come along this evening. Don't worry if you haven't got your ticket in advance, we'll sort you out at the door.
  16. Thanks....one minute you think you have loads of time to prepapre, next thing you know your running about like a blue ersed fly getting things finalised....some things never change....lol. And for any of the ladies (or men) at a loose end this evening don't forget we have the Virgin Vie Fundraising Party Night at the Stadium....7.00pm for 7.30pm....The more we get along the merrier :001: Full details by Clicking Here
  17. Caff never really got back into regular contention after the red card at Killie which saw Dods take his place in the team back in Oct 2004. Not sure if that resulted in him losing his edge through lack of games or if he was never going to sustain any kind of form in the SPL, but there's no doubting he played a huge part in getting ICT there in the first place. His pre-contract with St Johnstone meant we already knew he wasn't coming back, and I wish him all the best. The 1st Div is a tough league and I think St Johnstone have only finished outside the top 3 once since they got relegated there in 2002. When you look at some of the teams in the 1st now and some of the squads they are putting together it makes you realise more than ever how important it is to avoid relegation!!! Looks like it could be a right close fight there next season and as much as I hark back to days before the SPL and the crap it brings with it, I'm glad we're not having to do battle there....lol.
  18. Discovered today that Niculae is 2nd only to Scott MacDonald in terms of "Shots on Target" for the SPL this year. Imagine if he wasn't having to drop so deep and he was having a punt from closer range more often!!!
  19. Not sure why we brought Deano up here in all honesty. He's not typical of the type of striker who succeeds in Scotland and was always going to struggle to make the team unless he was something really exceptional....and if he had been that we would never have got a sniff at him in the first place. Like him and think he has some talent but he's not got the physical presence to make it in the SPL IMO.
  20. I'm afraid that I have trouble remembering the names of half our own coaching staff, never mind visiting coaches. Others on here have heard the same things, maybe they can help me out with names.

If we're lucky we'll find out the week before they are due to be played.....The club like to keep us in suspense over these things...well just about everything really....lol. Imagine it will depend on what the do in terms of going abroad (or not) pre-season, but we normally have a few games against "local" opposition...the big guys like Clach, Peterhead etc...and then there's Wilsons Testimonial in August.
  22. I get the feeling your one of those people who has been plaing the Centenary Club draw for 10 years and never won anything.....that's why your so down on CC isn't it :023:
  23. English Team with European experience :024: It's going to turn out to be Gretna
  24. CaleyD replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Yeah, but as you said about Vigurs....he can play there but it's not his position. If anything it's more important to be trying out the young guys in as many "suitable" positions as possible to see where they fit best instead of messing around with players where we already know we get the best from them. Don Cowie isn't best suited to either wing (as he's shown of late)....Wilson is most effective playing on the right but if you were going to play him and Cowie on the wings then you would almost definitely play Cowie on the right.
  25. If other coaches are rating him then the extended deal might just be worth a few quid if they come looking to buy :004:
