Anthem For ICT???
- Got an idea.....................
As someone who admitted earlier in the thread that they do/have done charity work, then I'm guessing you don't really mean "ANYTHING" - otherwise you'd be drawing a line under those less fortunates and moving on.- Got an idea.....................
Why not? They're a well organized outfit with smart, motivated guys at the helm and a growing, enthusiastic fan base. Just compare their websites http://www.spanglefish.com/invernesscity/ http://www.freewebs.com/clachnacuddinfc/ Which is more professional? Clach are a joke - their finances tell you everything you need to know. They're going nowhere, in contrast to City who could grow into a force to be reckoned with if given the chance. I have nothing against Inverness City and I would love to see a second team from Inverness playing in the Highland League, but you really can't compare them to Clach in any way, shape or form. If forced to choose between the existence of one or other team then, for me, it would be Clach without having to even think about it. In fact, I think that your a little out of order to even suggest that Clach should be allowed to die in order to open up a place for Inverness City to move through. IMO, no honest football fan would wish to see the demise of any team, for any reason.- Got an idea.....................
Can you imagine what this country would look like if you applied that philosophy to everything? Lets not give grants to preserve old buildings and lets build over all the greenland....these things don't pay for themselves, so screw them, let them disappear. Look at the millions that are invested into such things. Over ?50,000+ was spent putting in a path along the back of Dalneigh next to the canel (which already has a path running along it) not so long ago and I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of people I see using it ever week and they're talking about spending the same again (and more) adding lights to it and installing some kind of "fitness" equipment along the route. Then you have the maintenance costs every year on top of that. We're not talking about a club that only appeared on the scene a few years ago. We're talking about the oldest remaining football team in Inverness, a founder member of the North of Scotland FA and the last connection this city has with the Highland League. Football, in the shape of ICT, has brought a lot of money to Inverness, and it's easy for us to sit in our nice new stadium playing in the top league to say "We survived and grew, Clach had a chance to be part of that and chose not to, so feck em". How quickly some people forget that things could so easily have gone the same way for Caley and/or Thistle 14 years ago. I couldn't quote their attendance figures and I don't know how much ICT's success has contributed to any decrease over the years, but you can be sure that it will have had some impact. In fact, Clach are likely one of the few "businesses" in Inverness to have been effected in a negative manner by the presence of ICT. We all mump and moan about how the OF fans steal fans away from the smaller teams....are ICT not doing the exact same thing to a certain extent when it comes to the Clach? Why shouldn't everyone who has benefited from the success of football in the city be expected to give a little something back to the game at the lower level? Are we all really so greedy and money-grabbing that we won't forego a few quid to make life a little easier for Clach and continue to provide an affordable alternative to supporting ICT, or would we rather these people spent their Saturdays sitting at home watching football on the TV and never giving a second thought to the game in their own city. I'm no Clach Fan, never have been, but that doesn't mean I want to see them go to the wall.- If you could change ONE thing at ICT?
When I win the lottery and build the "CaleyD Corner Pod" with my penthouse flat and helicopter pad, I'll make sure and add some luxury seating for matchdays and the ladies would be welcome to use them for the reserve matches so long as I get a cuppa and a bit of cake in return.- Bank Balance
It was his plans to stick a roof on the stadium I objected to, not the half time entertainment :015:- Next transfer window
Juanjo never recovered form after his injury and with the way he seems to be bouncing around at smaller clubs I wouldn't be convinced by any moves to have him return.- Alec Cleland on board

Forget the scoreboards and hire a couple of Dolly Birds to parade up and down in front of each stand holding up numbers with the score on. Creates employment, adds to the viewing pleasure and eh....eh....oh yeah....would be cheaper than electronic scoreboards.- Barry dropped again
Personally I don't see the point of arguing over who is or is not worthy of a testimonial as all the events run to raise money are optional. This means that if you don't agree with it then you simply choose not to support it....end of problem.- Bank Balance
Our Community Development Dept is a registered Charity, why not exploit that fact to benefit from the same tax breaks that other charity shops do :004:- the name should be.........
I think some attitudes at the club might have moved on a bit since the days of the BENI and although I have my doubts as to them offering financial assistance I think that if any supporters group went to them and proved they were well organised and had a clear proposal/request for how the club could assist with things like storing of drums or placement of banners/flags on matchdays then they would possibly be more accommodating than they have been in the past. The BENI of old weren't all that well organised and they were more than a little guilty of going to the club with false promises which I think lead to the opinion that they were nothing more than a group of "silly wee boys" who were wasting the clubs time. I know that fans are mostly in it for a laugh and improving atmosphere on matchdays, but you have to realise that ICT is a business and everything is (or should be) done to a plan. They need to know what to expect, especially when your talking about large flags/banners so as they can advise/plan accordingly. It's all fair and well buying a 20 foot flag, but have you thought about where your going to put it? Some way of hanging it from the roof at the back of the stand would probably be most suitable, but these things need to be sorted in advance and as with other similar groups elsewhere they would likely expect you to be at the stadium early enough to do it so as not to be causing a disruption when other fans arrive. Before racing out and buying a flag/banner why not check with the club as to what's acceptable/safe....perhaps the Supporters Trust could assist on this front. The last thing you want is to spend a few hundred notes on something only to find that some Healthy and Safety issue prevents you from ever being able to use it properly. In short, get yourself organised, get some idea of number of people involved, what you want to do, when you want to do it and ask the club before you dive in and do anything instead of making assumptions and demands. It may all sound like BS Politicis but it will save you problems further down the line.- If you could change ONE thing at ICT?

Lose the "Forza" (which is naff anyway IMO) and you have the B.E.N.I reincarnated. You know it makes sense :004:- Police and Stewards
Animals, I think you are trying to exaggerate things slightly, If I didn't like the people I was sitting amongst at every home game then I too would move. Theres a difference between sitting in amongst home fans and supporting the opposite team and having lunch and a few drinks and watching the match in the seats ALLOCATED BY THE CLUB But hey everyones entitled to an opinion. How would you describe people who make hand gestures towards others and dish out verbal abuse and threats of violence?- Police and Stewards
12th Man, did you actually think about that before you posted it? Your saying that because someone is in a more "expensive" seat then they should be allowed to behave like animals and those nearby who don't like it should move - I know that money talks, but surely your not suggesting that because someone has been privileged enough to get a hospitality seat that they should not be subject to the same rules and regulations as everyone else?- Got an idea.....................
Thankfully the Social Club is a separate entity form the club as they were at one point juggling a debt of around ?250,000 and proving even less viable than the club. In fact, the debt of the Social Club may have been part of the reason it was hived off as a separate entity and I'm not certain that things have improved any. As disappointing as it is to see them unable to balance the books I do think they are an important part of Inverness and not just Merkinch and for that reason alone it would not upset me in the slightest to see public money being used to sustain their existence. It would also not upset me in the slightest if we were to see them absorbed into the ICT setup or even the Highland Football Academy setup with us absorbing the cost of the conversion to an all weather surface which could be used for training, if not by the first team squad, then certainly by some of the younger groups.- Duncan
The situation with Niculae was always going to effect some players differently than others, but it was also going to give certain players an "excuse" when the reality is that their grievances lie elsewhere. Duncan has been a totally different player from day one this season, snipping at referees and team mates at every given opportunity, even in pre-season. Something has been eating at him since before Niculae was signed. Tokely made public comments when Brewster departed for Dundee Utd that he hadn't been happy with training when he was here and that he was "enjoying" things better with Christie at the helm. Apart from the fact that he's paid to work and not to "enjoy" himself I imagine any issue he may have are more connected to Brewsters return than Niculaes wages. In fact, I am fairly certain of that. Black has been going through a bit of a transition as a player/person on the park and that can't have been easy for him, but I think the whole "Niculae v Black" conspiracy about them not getting on is a load of horlicks as they all seem to get along fine outside of training and matchdays just fine. His day will come whereby bigger teams will come knocking at the door for him, but he is also rated by Brewster and is probably one of the players who has earned themselves the right to ask for a pay increase, should he not be offered one anyway. As I said at the start....the Niculae wage issue is an easy bolt-on for some of these players in the search for a sympathetic ear. We've no doubt all worked in jobs at some point where some people were paid more than others for doing similar roles. In that situation you can do one of two things....spend your time moaning about it and p!ss your bosses off, or you can knuckle down, prove you are just as capable and earn your pay increase. As much as I like Duncan and think he deserves more credit than he gets, he's done nothing to suggest he is worth anything near the wages that Niculae is on. I don't doubt he is worthy of a pay increase, but for him to even mention his "worth" in the same sentence as Niculae is bordering on laughable....the guy is in need of a bit of a reality check. The club has landed itself in a situation whereby we have more players than is healthy with contracts due to expire in the summer and lots of contract negotiations will be in the pipeline. They have nobody to blame but themselves for getting in to such a situation and they can't blame the players for using all that is available to them when it comes to negotiating the best deal. The club made a rod for it's own back with the signing of Niculae and last summer they should have probably spent more time negotiating contracts with existing players instead of chasing him, and for that some players may feel rightfully upset. However, the players also have to realise that ICT is not a club that has ever allowed itself to be held to ransom and they WILL let players go rather than pay more than they think they are worth/they can afford....and that's as it should be. As a club we are young and possibly still a little wet behind the ears when it comes to playing these games at this level, and no doubt lessons are still being learned...the same probably goes for a lot of our long standing players. I just hope when situations such as this arise that we don't land up regretting having never appointed more experienced decision makers on the footballing side of the club.- Standing up for ourselves
Players are only worth what someone is willing to pay. Just because Morton are demanding 250k does not mean they will get it.- Police and Stewards
I don't want to see it happen either, but it will one day unless the club/police/stewards move to improve things and start acknowledging and acting on complaints they receive instead of shrugging them off with BS answers or making those who complain feel like they are the troublemakers. That's complete whataboutery and has nothing to do with what happens in the stadium which is what people on here are complaining about. I can assure you that the SPL are far from happy about the stewarding and policing at ICT....did you not see all the stuff in the newspapers etc following our game against Rangers at the start of the season? The Club AND Northern Constabulary were torn a new ersehole over their handling of the Rangers Fans...or to be more precise, the lack of handling.- the name should be.........
- Sub Standard Old Firm teams...or have the rest caught up?
I think it's a bit of both and I think it has as much to do with money as it does with the evolved attitude of many players. Money in the game up here is so tight right now that you really have to be something special to earn the big wages. This drives players to be at their best in the hope of landing themselves such a move and it focuses managers into building a proper team instead of just a group of talented ego's who turn up on match days to collect a pay cheque they can barely afford to be giving them. You also have the increased popularity of "Win bonuses" which now make up the bulk of a players annual wage at the smaller clubs which drives them on to perform. I think Scottish Football has been going through a transitional face for the last 4 or 5 years and I also believe it is one that will be for the better in the long term. I'll go out on a limb and predict that we will have a non-of league champion within the next 5 seasons.- Supporters Pub/Club
I had noticed that Kopaberg seems to be taking off as a bit of a "Trendy" drink....about time all you youngsters caught up, I've been drinking the stuff for years. When I first started drinking it the only place you could buy it was the Deli Shop at IKEA. :015: - Got an idea.....................
