  1. For me...the idea of providing "more width" means the addition of a 5th Midfielder, not the straight swap of one for another. That's the one thing I find most baffling about Brewsters Subs, they are always like for like, and in reality do little to change formation or tactics.
  2. I know this was a topic discussed on here before....and it looks like they have pulled it off Clicky Clicky
  3. Me. I had decided not to spend time on the phones trying to get a ticket and even when I was offered a ticket I told the person to give it to someone else we knew as they had done more in terms of traveling to support the team over the years than I had ever done. Granted, the person who ended up with the ticket was a friend and I may not have been so generous in allowing it to go to a total stranger.
  4. For simply disagreeing with me??? That's a bit harsh.
  5. It's obvious RiG....ICT are a far better standard of p!sh than the Pars at the moment.

It's been a culmination of things IMO, some of them controllable, some of them not. What bothers me most is that little seems to be happening to rectify the matter. Things happen in all walks of life that cause problems and the true test of character and strength is the ability to pick up the pieces, put things right and move on. I just don't know if we have the right people in place to achieve that at the moment.

I don't think anyone could deny that such a thing would perhaps play on the minds of some players, but I don't think it is the root cause of the issues which run much deeper IMO. I also don't want to get involved in creating some conspiracy theory surrounding the whole thing, the evidence of unrest is there for all to see and it is glaringly obvious that problems exist off the park as well as on it at the moment. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
  8. I'm not denying contact was made or defending Rossco, I just don't think it was the knock-out punch some people are making it out to be. Bottom line is that there's no need for any contact in that situation and he deserved the Red Card.
  9. I disagree, it is far from a punch. In order to punch someone from an angle like that he would need to rotate the shoulders and that doesn't happen. There is also no movement of McGarrys head to suggest any force in the contact that was made and the fact that you see the outside of Rosscos wrist suggest that any contact was made with the flat of the hand. Unless Rossco is some kind of contortionist then it is not physically possible for it to have been a punch.

With a large portion of our budget having been blown on one player I think we'll find ourselves having to pick at the dregs come the transfer window, with players having to move out to make space for ones coming in. There's also the very worrying fact that Brewster was quoted in the P&J recently as having said he hadn't even thought about the January Transfer window yet. Chances of us getting anything other than loan deals come January are very slim and with these guys likely to have been warming benches elsewhere I'm not sure how able they will be to hit the ground running. What we have has worked for us in the past, and other than a couple of "must gets" I think it's more important that we sort out the problems which have upset the current squad as opposed to adding more to the mix.
  11. I don't think Rossco's actions could be described as a "punch" or anything like it, but the moment he lifted his hand and showed intent he was going to be sent walking. Stupid yes...but not, IMO, malicious.
  12. That's for Rapsons to decide, they take the contract for the bus and they are responsible for running it. If it's getting to the stage whereby they are having these problems every week then yes, they need to be raising it with the club. If they can't come to a solution then they simply pull out and tell them to get someone else to run the bus...or no bus runs at all. At no point however should the driver be moving away from the stance if these things are going on, if something were to happen the only comeback would be on them and not the club or anyone else.
  13. The only consolation for those who took part was that they had a good excuse to miss some of the p!sh the team were serving up when they had to go get ready.
  14. Very true, but at only 1 down the chances still exists for pulling it back. After the red mist came down for most of our team following that goal it seemed to go from bad to worse. Not saying we would have, and I'm not defending the players who should be professional enough to keep a cool head regardless of such things, but such "moments" do have a habit of deciding the outcome of games.
  15. A "correct" decision on such an important matter might just have been enough to calm down the ICT players and stop them totally losing the plot...so I would say that it mattered a great deal.
  16. I'm with IHE on this one. I thought things had settled down when Brewster arrived, indeed our performances seemed to improve almost immediately as was evidenced at Easter Road. We have the same players and same manager as we had during that spell but things have again started to go pear shaped. If you step back and look at things beyond what;s happening on the pitch it is as obvious as the nose on your face that something else is causing the problem. Not saying Brewster or the players are blameless but it is something else that is the catalyst.
  17. As I said elsewhere, Bayne was in a lose-lose situation today. Firstly he can't jump without closing his eyes and leading with his elbows and the Ref wasn't going to be letting him away with it at any point, and secondly the tactics were hoof it high up the park to Bayne which meant he had no option but to be jumping and challenging. To have continued as long as we did with the player and the tactics was suicide and we paid the price....the only person who should shoulder any blame for that is Brewster.
  18. I have stepped out to this area many times for a cigarette and have never once been challenged for doing so or challenged when trying to get back in. It seems that the "Opposition Colours" thing was simply a secondary excuse after being challenged on the first point and regarding his possession of a license. If the Steward was not in possession of the relevant license he should not have been manning the door on the basis of controlling entry to anyone....that is the law and this is a clear breach of it.

When Brewster arrived things looked to be on the up despite fears surrounding his managerial ability. He started getting the team fit again and we have rarely played finer football than what was witnessed at Easter Road. However, things seem to have gone drastically downhill in the last month (with the exception of the Gretna game). We've still got the same players, the same manager and are playing the same teams...so what's happened to send things into freefall? With regards to the playing side, we've had rumours of others at the club interfering with team selection, fallouts due to clashes of ego, players refusing to travel home on the team bus, players leaving before full time when subbed (or being subbed after leaving), bust ups during training etc etc. Alram bells started ringing for me this week when I read an article in the P&J where Brewster was quoted as saying he hadn't even thought about the January Transfer window yet. Either by design or default, Brewster does not seem to be in control of the players...which begs the question...who is?
  20. I, and others, have been saying for weeks that problems at the club run deeper than on the field performances and results. Personally, I'm preparing myself for it to hit rock bottom before we start to see any meaningful changes to improve things. This is not some "conspiracy theory" and I'm not pointing fingers at individuals. Ultimately the buck stops with the Board of Directors, and they need to make some difficult but important decisions before the wheels fall off.
  21. Ultimately responsibility for safety lies with the driver. If the bus is overcrowded or people are acting in a manner which will jeopardise the safety and comfort of other passengers then he should not turn a wheel until the matter is rectified. Double Deckers are naturally unstable and a full top deck is recipe enough for disaster, never mind a moving load on the top deck who are intent on making the bus sway.
  22. Bayne was never going to last the 90 minutes today and I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. That was partly down to his own inability to jump for a ball without leading with elbows like a clumsy oaf, and partly down to the hoof it up the park at him tactics which meant he had no option but to keep challenging for the ball in the air. The only people who got even close to pass marks today IMO were Hastings, Fraser, Black, Duncan, Cowie, Wyness and the subs. I hope the rest of them have a fecking miserable weekend and return to training on Monday and are lined up to receive a kick in the balls for their attitude and behavior out there on the park today. The referee was bad, but it was consistently bad and as professional players they should be able to deal with that and adapt accordingly. When you know a ref is going to blow for a certain scenario, you don't keep throwing yourself in to it. Even more so, when he has already booked one player for getting mouthy and warned numerous others....YOU DON'T KEEP BLOODY ARGUING WITH HIM.
  23. For the first time ever I left a game early today as a result of what was being dished up by ICT on the pitch. Being outplayed or having a bad day I can take. Players acting like morons, losing the plot and basically gifting the game to the opposition I cannot. As I've said elsewhere, our problems are run deeper than what's being happening on the pitch...never before have I witnessed such indiscipline, contempt for officials and 11 guys all looking as they they would take any excuse not to be out there. If the players aren't going to bother trying then I don't see why the feck I should bother hanging around to support them.
  24. Roy Macbain - Was impressed by his performances as a left back and think he should be retained and used more often in this position. Barry Wilson - Think this may be his last season as a regular starter, but think he could still have a roll to play as a super sub next season, and as he can play either left or right he makes a very useful player to have on the bench. Ian Black - Has come on leaps and bounds this season now that he seems to have his attitude in check. A promising future ahead of him and hopefully we can retain his services. Richie Hart - Despite the fact that I think he still has plenty to offer the team I can't help but think that recent events will have decided his fate, be that the clubs choice not to renew his contract or his own choice to move on. Hope I'm wrong and he fights his way back in tot he squad and earns a contract extension. Alan Morgan - Not one of those players who shines IMO, think he only has a contract till January but seems to be getting a chance under Brewster. I wouldn't be too troubled if he was to move on as he doesn't offer anything more than we have elsewhere. Russel Duncan - Don't think he gets the credit he serves most of the time and he seems to have inherited the attitude that Black dropped which isn't doing him any favours. I think he plays an important job in holding our midfield together, but needs to stop arguing with everyone on the pitch and concentrate on his game. Don Cowie - A no-brainer given that he's been the most consistent player we've had this season. John Rankin - Can't understand why others seem to be getting opportunities ahead of him. He started slowly last season but finished it strongly. Given the choice between Rankin and Morgan I'd pick Rankin. Zander Sutherland - Still young and he's away gaining valuable experience, would perhaps do him good to be out on loan at a slightly higher level come January to prepare him for the step up to the first team squad on a more regualr basis with ICT next season. Markus Paatelainen - Stood out in pre-season as offering something different and seems to have a bit of class. His current injury problems may be the deciding factor and if he isn't back and fit and getting a chance by the end of the season then I would say we need to cut our loses and let him go. Garry Wood - As highlighted already...Woods is a striker. Iain Vigurs - Young guy with apparent promise but lets face it, he's only getting on the bench at the moment because of the U21 rule and barring a major catastrophe then he can be viewed as no more than one for the future as things are.

It wasn't all that long ago that fans would have been only too happy to assist in these things, it was par for the course that the club would give back to where they were getting from and no questions would have been raised over payment in any form. But as some have said above and a point that I have made many many times...their is am unhealthy gap developing between club and fans which becomes more and more apparent every time these things crop up. I don't know if the club realise just how much they have drifted away from the fans, nor do I know if they care, but a time will come when the club really do need the help of the fans for something major and the wake up call will come when they discover that the once reliable fans are no longer within easy reach. The "Community Spirit" that once surrounded ICT is on it's last breath and only those with a hand on the reins of the club have the power to turn it back in the right direction.
