Richie.......
I don't think the kid gloves treatment sends a positive message to anyone - either the player or those he may influence. People have to realise that with certain actions comes certain consequences and sending out the message that it's ok to take drugs once because your employer and all around you will forgive you and lavish you with help to get you sorted out isn't helping anyone. When the rumours originally broke it was understood that the cocaine was not in his car for his own use/consumption and that he was merely a victim of circumstance and they belonged to someone else. That is clearly not the case now that more of the facts are out there. I also don't buy all this talk about it being something that happened in his private life...blah blah blah. He was sitting in his car in a public place when he was caught red handed...nothing at all private about that. Furthermore, certain jobs carry certain expectations (and indeed contractual obligations) about the public image that must be maintained and that comes with the territory when your a Professional Footballer. ICT (or any club for that matter) should not be seen to condone or support such actions in any way, shape or form and should take action accordingly. If the club can find some way of doing that and keeping him at the club, then fair enough, but all this talk of parading him around as some kind of reformed addict who is going to educate people by showing them the error of his ways will serve no purpose whatsoever. I'm all for giving people a second chance, but I'm 100% against turning this in to some kind of circus act - Punish/Sack him and move on.

Stripes or Block Coloured Shirts
What does a "Switch Around" strip look like? :023: I like stripes (horizontal or vertical) and think that the Rugby Top they did was pretty good looking as well and the design could be used for a strip. Have never been a fan of solid colours, but strangely I think the Black Away strip is the dogs danglies and the previous white one wasn't too bad either. You can do a lot with stripes, this is our 5th variation, and in terms of "Branding" it does no harm to stick with the one concept.

A tough group perhaps, but one which will do no harm whatsoever to the clubs bank balance.

my first impressions of the new guys
It's got nothing to do with budget, or how much he is being paid. IMO, the fans should be judging him based on his performance on the pitch. If they don't think that performance is providing value for money then take out your frustration on the club who are the ones who decided to pay him the wage he's getting.

my first impressions of the new guys
Have you seen him recently Tree? Looks like he's shed more than just a few pounds. I spotted it at the reserves game last week.
-
my first impressions of the new guys
I agree with that, and their is little point in him playing a great ball in to space if nobody is there (something I don't think he is overly guilty off) - In the same fashion though, the team need to learn to get into positions they may not normally have adopted because Niculae is capable of delivering the ball there. I believe that this is something that is happening and that people just have such high expectations of Niculae that think they should be seeing supermanesque performances every week. The facts speak for themselves and Niculae has been pulling his weight in terms of goals and contributing to others scoring - testament to the fact that he may just be gelling with the team far more than some are giving him (and the team) credit for. 2 Goals, 3 Assists and only topped in the SPL for shooting rate by Scott McDonald. If anything, it is perhaps the quality of his finishing that needs to be worked on and not how he is integrating with the team.

my first impressions of the new guys
Whilst I agree that a team should not be radically changed to accommodate a single player, I also think it is extremely arrogant and self defeating to adopt the mindset that Niculae should drop his game to fit with everything at ICT. What we have here is an opportunity for our guys to learn something new and for them to add that to the mix and make us better as a team. I am confident that the team will be working just as hard to up their game and better understand and work with Niculae as he is to fit in to the team and that's how it should be. Any other attitude to the situation is, IMO, arrogant and self defeating.

Time to drop Fraser
Fraser has been erratic so far this season. He goes from having a great game where he meets every crossed ball and attempt on goal with confidence and composure to games where he looks the total opposite. For that reason I don't think his problem lies in his ability but something else. It could be confidence, attitude, too may late nights, his mother washing his strip in a different detergent...I don't know, but I know that he needs to get it under control or Brewster will be justified in giving Zibi his chance sooner rather than later.

Time to drop Fraser
Zibi looked ok in the reserves match last week and had some stunning saves, seemed confident in dealing with whatever was thrown at him in terms of crosses etc and had the added dimension of spotting a player for the quick throw out which he uses to great effect. Not saying Fraser should be dropped, but if it came to that then I think Zibi looks more than capable based on the couple of times I have seen him since he arrived.

Jobs worths
Every time I read that it reminds me of the folklore that mystifies Tomnahurich - the only difference is that on that occasion it was the musician who was lured unsuspectingly into a strange and mysterious place instead of it being the other way round!!!

I don't care if he never scores, so long as he keeps on setting up the winners :001:

MINIBUS - RANGERS
As far as I am aware ICT and Aberdeen are still to meet in order to confirm the Date and Price. The person I spoke to at the club had no idea where the BBC had got the Wednesday Night from as it has yet to be agreed between the clubs.

Celtic facing punishment?
I think that's a little unfair Alex, and not entirely accurate. Yes, a couple of site users tired to use it as a "Stewards/Club are being heavy handed" line, but the majority of people who commented agreed that the lad was in the wrong and should face punishment. Discussion then went on to the punishment fitting the crime and in that regard the scenarios are very different. If we lived in a world of Black and White, then yes, I would agree that both should expect the same treatment, but we don't.... - The ICT Fan didn't technically enter the field of play, he crossed the wall but never went on to the pitch, the Celtic Fan did. - The ICT Fan did not approach any opposition players, the Celtic Fan did. - The ICT Fan never laid hands on anyone, the Celtic Fan did. For the record, I don't think the Celtic boy deserves a lifetime ban..a year or two maybe, but not life. We've all done things in life which we later regretted and would not repeat and I don't see why the law (and subsequent punishments) inside a football ground should be any different than that outside it. The ICT Fan the other week deserves some kind of ban/punishment, but I don't believe his actions were in any way as serious so perhaps 6 to 12 months would be appropriate, not to forget the fact that such action can also lead to charges of Breach of the Peace so he may/may not have that to deal with as well.

Fancy Dress, Gretna Away??
The Minibus for Gretna will likely be down there in time for the Fun Day. For those who want to attend, I will happily run them to the stadium before/after dropping the rest at whatever pub they are going too - or we could all attend and still get back to the pub for a drink before the game :001: Still a few seats available for the minibus but let me know as soon as. **Note - The Minibus is not the Official Supporters Club Bus and you will need to check with them as to what their plans are for the day**
