  1. LMAO - just noticed thatone of the google ads that appears when viewing this thread is for free singing lessons!!!
  2. Why do you care so much about what other people think? And why are you busy watching them instead of the match? :016:
  3. Oh Dear!!!!!
  4. CaleyD replied to L_G's topic in Caley Thistle
Your not fooling anyone C100, we all know you have Rory pyjamas.
  5. I dont want to sound arrogant or anything but I dont think you can really argue that Dundee United have more potential than ICT. Plus he will be able to double/ triple his wages. For an ambitious player Dundee United offers more than ICT can. I am expecting a barrage of abuse for that but from an unbiased (as possible :003:) point of view thats how I see it (and Dods too evidently) As for being underhand what did Barry Robson do? What a load of Tosh. The money being offered by ICT had nothing to do with Dods decision to move, it was/is the length of contract he was being offered. Dods didn't feel it was long enough to justify uprooting and moving up here on a permanent basis and the traveling has been taking it's toll on his private life.
  6. Roscoe23, it's becoming increasingly apparent that your either on some kind of wind up mission or you know nothing about the circumstances surrounding players who have left the club or are leaving this summer. I've already deleted one of your threads for the manner in which you refered to an ex-player, slow down and take a moment to think before throwing around infantile and ill-educated remarks such as the above. Please also try and refrain from the constant use of txt speak as it makes for difficult reading.
  7. I agree with Clacher re the location of the singing section. The no roof situation shouldn't be an issue as if you believe everything you read the "noisiest" fans are the die hard terracing fanatics. A little rain, hail or snow shouldn't put them off :016: Connecting this with IHE's idea of doing something for the Dunfermline game, they could just open up that section to anyone with a ticket anywhere else in the ground that wants to go sit there. As no season tickets have been sold in the area you wouldn't have to move anyone and it wouldn't matter if you were a Main Stand or North Stand regular. The game is unlikely to see a huge attendance so it's not like they'll need the space for others.
  8. Try and keep up, we've already had this discussion elsewhere ::)
  9. Perhaps with a bit more notice of where and when the team will be abroad then people will be better placed to make arrangements - another drawback of the late decision making last year.
  10. At our level the youth system will never produce sufficient player of the quality needed unless we somehow managed to invest disproportionately in youth development, which is suicide as you would always spend the majority of your cash on the first team. We will always have to depend on picking up youths from bigger clubs who haven't quite made the grade there but are more than capable of performing for us in the SPL, just as we will depend on picking up players who haven't made it at other clubs who fit better into our system and way of doing things. At the end of the day no one method is going to meet our needs and we have to look at them all. What I find a little concerning at the moment is that there are teams around us and below us who are picking up some great loan and youth signings from "big" teams. We either lack the forsight to be tapping in to this market or we simply don't have the contacts. As much as I like Grassa and appreciate all he has done for the club over the years I am actually starting to think that we need a Director of Football with a bigger background and larger network of contacts in order to make this happen. All we seem to do is p!ss around in the scouting game and even though we've heard tales about getting scouts here there and everywhere I believe it needs to be sorted from the top down, not the bottom up. We are slowly establishing ourselves in the SPL and if we want to stay here then we have to be just as ruthless with our off the park personnel as we are with those on the park.

Zoning may well change, and it has been looked at by the club on several occasions, but it has always come down to the fact that a change to allow the expansion of the types of business operated at the site would vastly increase the rates. It would seem they are looking at/have discovered some way around this with a "Members Only" bar, but as the club is now a 'Ltd Company' and no longer a 'Club' it effectively has no 'members' in the manner normally required for such establishments. If it's anything like the Sports Bar they were "so close" to opening in the town then I won't hold my breath.

SMEE, why would you want a half season ticket if you already get a full season ticket for free?
  13. CaleyD replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Current zoning of the land which the Stadium sits on and is surrounded by doesn't allow for much of the development being talked about on here. Also, to have the zoning changed would mean a vast increase in the level of the rates. It's not just as simple as sticking up a new building and opening whatever you like in it.
  14. Aye, takes a week to get moving, two weeks to stop and a turning circle measured in miles instead of meters.
  15. Can't see what he added to it this season!!!!

The SPL do not have the power to Grant or Deny anyone a work permit directly. They will however have their own internal rules and regulations with regards to what constitutes acceptable terms and conditions for the sponsorship of a foreign player working within the SPL, just as banks have rules and any other company which holds a licence for sponsoring foreign workers. A Canadian friend of mine who worked in Scotland for 2 (maybe 3) years on a general work permit and who wanted to remain here longer required the bank to write a letter of sponsorship saying that he was in their employ and they didn't envisage that changing under current circumstances in order for him to get that extension. They refused and he had to return to Canada. I would imagine the same rules apply to footballers, they can come here for X amount of time on a general permit, but for an extension they need a letter from club/employer (operating under SPL guidelines) stating they did not envisage that changing within the period of the extension applied for. Given the nature of football and frequency with which players come and go then I'd imagine the SPL have a rather strict criteria for issuing such sponsorship and as was stated at the time Jason Scotland failed to meet that Criteria. Given how backwards the regulatory setup is in Scottish football it is not unlikely (in fact it is highly probable) that the SFL have a different more leniant set of criteria which allowed Jason Scotland to obtain the letter of sponsorship required to allow him to continue working here.
  17. Around £75,000 I believe

The rumour of a move is unfounded, Dynamo are to stick by him for the time being. Some of his team mates aren't too happy though and Andy Stevens has shown his strength of feeling by deciding to retire at the end of the season.
  19. You answered that yourself with.... A concern for Gretna and their fans, nobody else Again, something for Gretna and the fans to worry about, not us The most ludicrous of all the questions, since when did the size of the fanbase determine who should and shouldn't be allowed to play at the top level? It's results on the park that (should) decide that. Again, a very short memory in regard to some of the crap that was thrown at us when we were fighting for our place in the SPL. The exact same complaint that exists about us (ICT) to this day - should we just turn around and tell the SPL that we shouldn't be there and slink off back to the first division? I'm not being fooled by anything, I was one of the fans from another team that turned out for that match in order to support Gretna for the day and a great day it was too. It's really quite sad that some of our fans seem to have so quickly adopted the mindset which we battled so hard against in order for us to get where we are today!!!
  20. What Mileson does or does not do with his money is up to him. If he wishes to bankroll Gretna then thats his decision and to object or put the guy or his team down for it is nothing other than sour grapes. ALL teams at some point or other have relied on the goodwill of a wealthy person or business to get or keep them where they were, us included, so it really is quite hypocritical for us to have a pop at Mileson or Gretna. Our turnover last year was in the region of 2.5 million if I remember correctly. Assuming Gretna end up on a similar level then Mileson has plenty in the bank to see them through well beyond the lifetime of moist of us on this forum today. If thats how he wishes to spend his cash then good luck to the guy. Why shouldn't Gretna be allowed to live the dream? They aren't doing a Livi and generating massive debt as they do it so even if it doesn't last nobody will suffer financially other than Mileson.
  21. The uncertaintly caused by the whole Intertoto thing last year put me off the idea. It seems to be more of a distraction than it is worth with having to wait so long to find out who's in and who's out etc. Pre-season should not be underestimated and although I was of a mind that the Intertoto could be valuable in those preperations I think it's no bad thing we give it a miss even if we could get in.
  22. Kencar, that article sounded like a re-hash of comments made a couple of weeks back. Either that or I am suffering DeJaVu
  23. CaleyD replied to strathyjags's topic in Caley Thistle
If you want to make it at this level then you have to put in the work. Coaching etc doesn't come cheap and the club have to focus on those who are dedicated. As tough as it may seem I think the policy is correct.
  24. No fear here, in fact I predict McAllister is going to stick 3 in the net against Utd which will be his coming of age as a first team regular who goes on to be our top scorer next season.
  25. One of those ones that your not too sure where it belongs. Not a rumour, not an ICT Player or someone linked with ICT, but in the context of the question ICT related. Can see why it might have been moved but agree it belongs here.
