  1. I get the feeling that Brewster was quite astute in giving Lionel 45 minutes.

He needed to be given a chance to show his worth - and now he has.

He's a likeable lad - but he failed and I fully expect him to be released.

As for Barrowlands - a risky signing and one that hasn't worked out. These things happen whoever the Manager is, particularly when there are very tight budgetary restraints. The fact that Prunty is now top scorer in Barrowland's division perhaps highlights our error.

    How do you know that?

By speaking to him and making my own personal assessment.

What a strange question to ask.

Just confirms what I said on another thread and I thought he didn't speak much English.

What a strange poster you are.

  3. Perhaps this is to do with our links with Hagi rather than Romanov?

I can assure you it is nothing to do with Hagi as the club have no links with him

I thought Hagi and his mate Popesue (or something like that) were ICT's Easter European scouts.

No they never were , Popescu has a football academy in Romania which is generally considered the best in Eastern Europe. He offered ICT a tie up with that where they would get the pick of his best young players free of charge, the club had 2 appointments to go across to discuss this with him further but for whatever reason didnt turn up on each occasion so the whole thing died. Hagi was never invloved I think his name just came up as he is Popescus brother in Law

If that is true, then ICT are utter fools. And I was always under the impression that Niculae was a product of the Popescu/Hagi scouting thing and Hagi was mentioned on the BBC commentary of one of the Romania as one of ICT's scouts. Maybe not then.

Edited to say, here's the link from a while back.

  4. It's interesting really. Every now and again, and it seems to be every week or so another one of Brew's cheerleaders comes out of their lonely cave and posts some drivel about how great Brew is and how we should all get "behind the team". I'm 100% behind the team, but I'm so much behind the team that I don't want them to go down, if that means booting Brew, then so be it. First there was FootyFanatic, then ILUVBREW and now BringBackBavidge. Are these club insiders trying to sway us to get behind a fallen comrade? This poster says yes.

How anyone, a new poster to boot, expects to be taken seriously with a name like that....

Don't worry. Should my views differ from those who frequent this site just let the Moderators know and I will be blocked.

    Lets hope so.

  5. This is a must win game for ICT, so the strongest line-up is required:

    -------------------------------------Esson----------------------------------------

    -----Tokely----------Mihadjuks------------------Munro----------Hastings----------

    -----Morais--------------------------Black*-----------------------Imrie------------

    ----------------------Cowie---------------------Vigurs----------------------------

    -------------------------------------Rooney--------------------------------------

    * - If Black has left at this point, stick Duncan in his position. If this happens, Gatheussi is put on the bench.

Subs: Fraser, Proctor, Wood, Duff, Zander, Barrowman, Duncan

  7. with the way things are at the club at the moment i cant believe he is not pulling on the boots again. i think he is still by far our best striker and rooney etc i think could play really well off him. i dont know how to do a poll but can someone do a poll for me and see what everyone else thinks. I also think brewster might be the man to keep us in the spl. In that i mean brewster the player not the manager. also with him playing he might see the lack of service up front and do something about it. I know there was talk about a bad shoulder and i dont know whats the postion is with his shoulder but he is playing reserve games. in my opinion as i have said regardless of his age, shoulder etc he has to get the boots on again and start getting this team moving again.

So far as I'm aware Brewster has never turned out in a reserve match since he stopped playing. He did, as Dalneigh say's, turn out in bounce game against Clach recently.

If the old memory serves correct Brew was told to have an operation, that didn't guarantee success, or stop playing competitive football or run the risk of more serious, disabling, damage. He chose to stop playing. As such, although he keeps himself fit enough he's probably a million miles away from being match fit so I'd say he'd be more a hindrance than an asset in a team.

I think he has turned out for one reserve game this season, though played as a centre-back. He also turned out up-front in the pre-season game against someone like Brora. I think he scored aswell in that game IIRC.

  8. It was mentioned on here a while back and I reckon a good move for ICT could be a move for Eugene Dadi. Fairly experienced and wants to return to Scotland apparently. He's also scored quite a few times for Perth Glory. A good target perhaps?

By the way, just checking Wikipedia and Perth also have a guy Amaral playing for them, who is a former Brazilian internationalist. Both are thirty-five and are probably better than ICT's current crop. Could be the experience Brew is looking for.

  9. On CTO just now you see a lot of folk saying that Tokers aint good enough and so on and so forth but here's the thing, he is one of ICT's, if not the most dangerous attacking players at ICT and with Black and probably Cowie going, here's the solution, playing at right wing. By doing this he wouldn't need to keep trotting up and down the pitch when wat he could do is just stay further up. He played at the this position against Aberdeen last season and I thought that was the best performance I'd seen all season by an ICT player. He also has the build to make his presence felt in an area of the pitch where it could really benefit the whole team. I good idea methinks.

  10. Now I know some folk on here will be saying "He only scored two goals last season" and "He aint good enough", well at this point in time I'd say that he's better than of ICT strikers with the exception maybe of Rooney but he created a lot of chances and set up a lot of goals for others, even if he didn't score that many himself. He could also be the kind of player to play in the 4-5-1 formation away from home. If I were manager, I'd be going for him in the current state of the team. Bring Back Bayne!
