  1. Well...come January, he will have the money freed up by 3 departures to play with. Barry, Zadi and Brew says one more will leave. I wonder who?????????

    I wouldn't be suprised if it's Zander.

If you want to question signings then look at things like why we let someone like Marius go, only for us to replace him with a comparative amateur on comparable wages,

Is this really right? The sort of numbers I've seen bandied around on here were very different i.e. a multiple.

I'm assuming it wasn't Brewster's choice to let him go, anyway, more financial.

or why he's never looked to take in a serious replacement for Dods at the back and is still concentrating on forward players on the approach to the window when we have just as many issues in defence.

Well more issues I would say. Our scoring record is better than everyone else in the bottom 6 apart from Falkirk.

CC has to share the blame for not replacing Dods, too. Brew only had a day or so in the previous window (though I agree, with hindsight at least, it should have been a bigger priority this summer).

True, but it wasn't for the want of trying. They tried Stuart McCaffrey and it didn't work, they tried some Austrian bloke and it didn't work, they tried Gianni Joinville and it didn't work, they tried Richard Hastings and it didn't work, they tried Phil McGuire and it doesn't work, and now they're trying Proctor at centre-back and it sure aint working. They also tried Steve Watt, who I thought was really good against Arbroath and he completely disappeared. Brew needs to make a competent centre-back his number one priority in January.

  2. I think football can be made too complicated at times.

4-4-2 is the tried and tested successful formula. 4-4-2 has been the general success story now for over 40 years, I don't think football will find another level of progression.

The 3-5-2 was introduced as the next big thing circa early 90's but the big boys eventually dumped it. I don't care what anyone says regarding the 4-5-1 being non-negative if used properly, IT IS NEGATIVE AND DULL AND BORING.

IMO you cant beat a proper 4-4-2, with 2 widish midfielders a holder and a more offensive middle man and a striking partnership.

As I say football is simple, I remember reading comments from Jim MacLean (Dundee U) saying words to the effect that forget about all the fancy stuff, the vast majority of goals come from a cross from the wing and a header from the big striker !

It's hard to say. Some say that future formations will be non-symmetrical and have arms on them, like this:

    -----------------GK--------------

    ---RB----CB-------------CB---LB-

    ------RM--------CM--------LM---

    --RW----------------------------

    --------RF-----------LF----------

Another one could well be what Man U are doing now, with a 4-6-0, with an attacking front four which also pulls the defenders out of position. I still reckon that the 3-5-2 may still benefit ICT though, especially if a big centre-back a la Dods is signed in January.

  3. Fraser wil always be highly regarded be some cause that save against Celtic. Unfortunately that was when he seemed to reach his peak and hasn't been that great since. He never seems sure of when to come out and stuff like that, so he's a Division 1 keeper at best.

  4. I miss Sophia now she's no longer around. Her posts were bizarre to say the least and she seemed to disappear after someone cottoned to the fact that she was actually a bloke and/or Bobby Mann's mother. Johnboy on the other hand disappeared for a while but popped up again the other day.

  5. did anyone notice Andy McNulty on the pitch warming up before the match?

I may be wrong but he's on loan at Elgin :rotflmao:

    That's what I thought!

I saw a guy on the pitch with 29 printed on his three quater lenths on.

Maybe that's because it wasn't him. It was more like Kyle Allison filling in the goalie coach.

  11. This gaelic garbage is a load of nonsense. The roadsigns, the primary school and all that is an absolute insult to people in Scotland who struggle to pay their taxes, the 1 in 4 kids in poverty and so on, but the Gaelic gang would have us believe that we all love it dearly and would hate for it die out. WRONG. I couldn't give two hairy hoots if it dies out and probably neither could that majority of Scots because if they did it wouldn't be in the state it's in. It's a waste of money and a waste of time.
