  1. Fantastic Goal well done to the team today! Just three more cup finals to go.
  2. *** VOTING IN THE POLL ABOVE IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE AT THE MATCH OR WATCHED A LIVE STREAM OR TV *** If you were at the match or viewing, please use the poll above to vote for your top 3 players. As a bit of fun, we have also added an option to rate the referee .... Please make sure you vote for 3 separate players. If you make an error, let us know so we can fix it. PLEASE ONLY VOTE ABOVE IF YOU WERE AT THE GAME or WATCHING LIVE STREAM or TV Anyone caught trying to cheat the system WILL be banned from voting in ALL site polls...this is your only warning. **NOT at the game ?** As a result of requests received, we have made a slight change to how these threads work for site users who listened to the full game live on the radio ....... You too will now be able to cast your votes, but should do it in the thread below, and NOT in the official poll above. Just list the three players of your choosing and award 5,3, or 1 point(s). You can give the ref a mark if you want too ! These votes will NOT be counted in the official total, as we only count votes from those who where actually at the game or viewed live streams, but it IS a way for you to participate in the process .... which many people asked for .... a happy medium we hope !!!!!

High winds and a big swell forecast for tomorrow but the Loch Seaforth should glide through it or I am going to miss the Raith game on Friday night as I got tickets for Eddi Reader before the game was changed for TV so will have to see you the next time.

I was expecting superb drone footage of the launch of Glen Rosa today I did see it on line with the weather being blamed and a hitch with wasting a good bottle of malt whisky I was told a good story about Calmac that never makes the news. At the port of Uig there was a full load booked and one large campervan on standby. The loading officer thought he could take them all and put the campervan up front as normal with large vehicles but then they were left with one booked car not able to get on an immediate shout was put out for all drivers to return to their vehicles, moving the forward a few inches the last car got onboard. Great customer service all aboard
  7. A good start to March with an away win at Morton then a home draw with Ardrie and home loss to Ayr United followed by two away games gaining one point against Dundee United and nothing against Partick. The winner for February is again Cameron Kerr with Alex Samuel and Samson Lawel close behind. The PotY standings are now Nathan Shaw and Alex Samuel joint leaders, Billy Mckay, Nikolay Ujdur, Max Anderson and Cameron Harper still in the running. Nathan Shaw is out for the remainder of the season so will slip down. A good start to April with our first home win since November and four games left to play unless we end up in the dreaded playoffs. Lets hope we can start by beating Queens Park next week. Please keep voting.
  8. Starting lineup and result from today.
  9. I agree although I think Savage has been good playing for us. On the game today as others have said we were very good in the first half played well, quick passing, going forward with the ball at speed and and Arbroath struggled to cope, we could have had a few goals if it wasn't for their keeper! In the second half we were our usual at home sitting back and we struggled. We have to play a full game at the tempo that we played the first half if we are going to stay in this league. A lot happier than I have been for a long time but we have to keep pushing!
  10. Nice day for the game apart from the wind which Arbroath will be more used to. Let's get a home win please!

I think it might be a damp squib but you can always say you were there and get a few special photos.

Good photo Mantis much better than you get from up a telephone pole I hope you get on! It was double booked last week and the police were there to stop a riot, just as well it was before this new law was passed or they wouldn't be able to attend There was a problem with the new computer system that cost them millions, might be Fujitsu it worked fine when I used to phone them up to book always helpful.
  14. Although a good idea I don't think it will boost numbers that much with our poor home game performance this season, we can but hope. Bring a Friend for £5 - ICTFC
  15. Top four for the women and the league splits so the last three games will be a real test, no game this weekend.
  16. Not looking good! Other teams picking up points and we are not.
  17. Back on track with this thread, although the Archive Center at the Bught do not have any photos or plans for the orphanage I was in for a visit last week looking at the records for the children that were there from 1915-1922 over 100years ago. On family history on my wife's side there were two families in the orphanage at that time the first were on the 1921 census and the parents who were not married split up for reasons unknown and five children were left as orphans, they all left the orphanage age 14 and would have gone to work and married and had a family in later life. The other family was a very sad case both parents married and had seven children born 1905-1917. The father a ploughman died in 1918 and the mother died in 1921 leaving a very young family. The mothers death was registered by the eldest daughter age 16! The five children went to the orphanage in 1922. The oldest sister died in Culduthel Hospital in 1930 while her two younger brothers were still in the orphanage the others left and likely working from age 14. Some of the family that I have found went on to marry and raise their own family but Donald the youngest was not so lucky. After his father dying when he was one and his mother when he was four he would have spent ten years in the orphanage before finding work an a place to stay at fourteen years old. He was called up in 1939 to war serving with the Seaforth Highlanders and was killed in France in 1940 aged 23. Times were very hard back the for all.

  21. He was there today. A lady with a bucket collecting for cancer today said he gave a nice donation.
  22. No game last week and no game tomorrow for the women they played away to Ayr last night.
