  1. On Adam Brooks, he might not have had a decent run in the team by starting but he did play a fair amount to be judged.

He grew up and went to school in Inverness I think? Millburn?

Never found him particularly kind to ICT myself but maybe just me

I think he got a bit of unjust stick on here from a few if I recall correctly. Although could have just been banter of course.

They're trying. He was our top scorer last year despite not playing as a striker. Our only other options were previously Brooks (one goal) and, err, Fergie jr.

Instead of signing 37 defenders, Dunc could have looked at a striker, especially with no Billy in that forward line. But, then, we might lose possession by having a striker...

He signed Samuel, Pepple Ferguson and Sheridan when we already had McKay, Brooks, Lodovica, Cairns and Samuels.

We probably did need 9 strikers though.

Have to say I'm quite surprised and disappointed by some of the negativity on here.  Were we poor yesterday? Absolutely.  However, since some people want facts let me give a couple.  In our first 10 games this season under Ferguson, we won just 2 games.  In the 8 games since Kell has taken over, we've won 4.  It's inarguable that we have improved under Kell and Billy, and all this with fewer players available, whether that be due to player releases or injuries.  I'm confident that we will win more games than we will lose, and with half the season left to play, I'm confident that we can avoid relegation.

Under Ferguson I’m sure he had won 4 of his first 8 as well. In fact he won the November manager of the month as well.

I wonder where we sit in this league in terms of budget compared to the rest of the league.

Kellacher has said in some post match interview that charlie Reilly on loan from Dundee should be ready to play mid December. He could be the answer.

not keen on player manager/coach playing themselves when their better days are behind them. seen it too many times in Scottish football.

highest profile one for me was Roy Keane, bleeding on that he should have got an extra season at Man Utd. Alex Ferguson was too experienced to let that happen. Keane still moaning and making money off it today.

huge fanfare when Keane signed for Celtic and played in the Scottish cup against a Clyde team with many youngsters who ran him ragged that day as they defeated Celtic. ( he was too slow to catch them with a famous Keane tackle)

ps…….. not going to mention Dave Mackay. Peter Taylor told clough he was the perfect player to play with/ guide the youngsters at Derby. Think clough answer was, is he not retired after a broken leg. But then Mackay was one of the all time greats of British football at a time when only home nation players graced the English leagues

A little closer to home - Brewster was a great ‘player’ manager.

I hear Clyde today are scrambling about to raise 55K to meet required funds to keep operating. It’s not an insurmountable sum, (all be it they’ve already been at the few fans for the money they have gathered). Some benefactor may come to there rescue, but it just reaffirms snorbens point on how vulnerable many of the smaller teams are in the bottom leagues. Clyde have been in steady but slow decline over four decades for what was once considered a strong Scottish team with a core support outwith the old firm. They’ve been nomads since they quit Shawfield and after a disastrous relocate to Cumberland (loss of the core support), they have never recovered.
Having suffered (suffering) the pains of administration I have sympathy for the Clyde fans, however I have to ask myself if whether it is best to face reality here. Is Clyde capable of anything more than just struggling along with no home, a fan base of any consequence and little to offer the game in Scotland going forward!

Too harsh and condescending considering what we have experienced ????

I’m not a fan of these clubs floating around using whatever stadium they can get their hands on. Sadly that seems to be the way for them these days. They were fairly secure for a good while in Cumbernauld and were a real force in our promotion season back in 2004. A sliding doors moment I always felt.

  7. We can’t be changing anything pre cup final as that is the pinnacle. It did start to go wrong straight after this though. Even going into the next games v Astra it already started to feel like we were missing a lot.

It’s a tough question to answer but I think Yngwie is spot on when saying it would only delay the inevitable. It doesn’t matter where we tweek our history, we were always going to end up back down the leagues. I don’t think anyone ever thought it would be this fast though.

Relegation from the Premier was always going to happen eventually, however being reckless with our finances in the Championship was very much avoidable and therefore unforgivable.

  8. Unsure if this was posted earlier or not but came across this and thought it was a good listen. Nothing new is discovered in this but still good for an extended run through our current history so far.

I do know a video was posted earlier that I didn’t get round to watching so apologies if it’s the same one.

    Kelty hearts TV highlights

Decent effort from Kelty that 👏

I watched my local team Renfrew play Kelty in the Junior Cup a few seasons back. Never did I think they’d outshine us on stuff like this. This is an away game for them as well.

Interview with Adam Brooks about being made redundant.  I feel really sorry for Brooks, think he could have had more of run in the team.  HOpefully he gets a new club soon.

Along with the others I don’t think he’ll be missed too much on footballing merit.  He couldn’t do it in the championship and he couldn’t do it in league 1 either. The amount of moans I’ve been hearing this past year and a half about needing better strikers in also proves this point.

He wasn’t signed up for league two with us next season which might have been his level?

I really fancied us to win today. Losing to Dumbarton is a nightmare

Yeah I think that tells us the story of how this season will pan out. A rebuild needed for next season in League Two.

I can't get the video to work, Internet is a bit hit and miss here in Turkey. However just going by the quotes he (Ferguson) seems to be under the impression that going to Kelty would have solved all our issues, cleared the slate, given him a budget for presumably 6 central belters who could/would not come up here. But the board (via fan pressure) went against Morrison and 'decided for admin' so, he then took his ball and went off.

It's nowhere near as simplistic as he's making out. Other factors push us towards where we are, not least of course him being the manager who got us relegated worsening our already fragile situation but he's hardly going to highlight that.

I've some sympathy for him in the sense that he was most likely sold some story when headhunted for the job (I still think it was a huge ego massage signing for SG) about all of the SG/RM schemes working out and he'd get a huge transfer budget, his 3k a week, gold plated training cones and the like. And why would he doubt these local titans of business and football club management?

    try this

Much of what he says does indeed, deserve to laughed at.

    Doesn't it?

The fairytale that Morrison was going to bankroll one more year of huge losses, only if we move to Kelty, with Gardiner at Ferguson at the helm is hilarious (and monumentally daft). Then all would be wonderful. Just like all the other hair brain schemes what worked out.

    Didn't they?

Yeah one thing I didn’t quite read from him was if he was having a go at Ross Morrison for making a unturn, or if it was because we didn’t back the Kelty plan.

Given some of the criticism you've dished out to those who were down on Ferguson this post just makes you look like a bit of a dick.

Just a wee joke, I don’t know much about Scott to be honest but this moment always springs to mind.

I wish him well and will back him just like any other manager 😉

Administration and a healthy restart with our great kids is now where we are.

    It's a challenge not a funeral I hope.
