Hilarious blog! I'll be looking out for his analysis of the remaining games.

Born and brought up with a Celtic Bias, but now hate them equally for all reasons above. So we do need a neither option as you ask for current preference. Became a caleythistle glory hunter when I took my son to their first SPL game - or he took me - and we've all (5 of us) been Season ticket holders since, and play good, bad or average, we still look forward to the next game. Big Teams? don't really follow any, but like to watch any of the top european games for entertainment value alone.
-
In my opinion a 16 team league is the only way to stop the freefall of Scottish footbal, give a bit of stability and allow the youngsters to develop in competetive matches without being under quite as much pressure as they are now. It may even result in some entertaining football like we used to have!
Rather than the SPL deciding on personal financial short term gain, how about putting the future of Scottish football to a public vote.
Anyone up to setting up an online poll or petition if the general feeling is strong enough?

Yes, time to start getting the next management/coaching team together, ready to step in when called upon. Perfect cover for injuries/possible january departures as well, get him signed before he heads across the bridge. He's settled up here, so ideal place for him to work.
Talk about jumping a chasm in two leaps!
Can ICT justify a wage for a sub?
In what way is he qualified / suitable to be the next ICT manager?!
I think that a few people are looking at this thread through rose tinted glasses. Barry Wilson WAS a great player for ICT when he was younger. No denying that. I also miss the team when he and Robson played together. However I don't think by resigning him is going to lead to a vast improvement in results which would see us march up the table.
Did I mention Barry as Manager? Still think he can do a job in this division, signed till the end of the season, and see what our managerial/coaching situation is then. If he is already here, it would be easier for him to become part of any new set up if or when it happens.

Unemployed pipefitter........waiting for offshore to pick up, too many of us at the moment, maybe time to try something new.

Just added my job title to the other thread, have a look, just too much time on my hands - maybe it is time for a career change!!

Johnboy, I did read the article, but I feel funding for these seperate causes are entirely separate budgetry issues. I'm sure if you or I had some control over distributing grants/funding we would both find more worthwhile causes "in our opinion". Homelessness is a social issue, that I'm sure is dealt with seperately, there is only so much money you can throw at this problem, before it becomes counter productive. Preservation of your/our heritage is an entirely different issue, and I'm sure are both budgeted accordingly. To try and use one as an argument against the other is irresponsible behaviour by the councillers and undervalues both. You and I know we don't have to look very far to see a lot more obscene squandering of billions of pounds of taxpayers money, than protecting what is - like it or not - part of your heritage.

Smee, why exactly do you feel the need to go to great lengths, what point are you trying to prove......that you personally have great issues with people learning or preserving the language? Why not have a little tolerance on how others would like to lead their own lives? :) I admire the commitment - and salaries - of those who strive for the survival of the language. :D As you seem to have done all your research, are all these salaries and investment in the preservation of the language being diverted directly from mainstream education, or is the money coming from elsewhere. I would have thought there would be seperate budgets/grants for cultural issues like these.

Some people seem to get quite upset at this subject, don't knock it till you try it :D

I wonder what Smith's salary is like.. hmm. No wonder the staff are pissed off I would be too.... :)
The shop has got to be more viable and give a better return than Mike Smith surely even if only on matchdays and part time hours. I think there are other more obvious cost cutting measures that dont affect the future growth of the club. We too were looking for a top for a 3 year old and were told they were not being ordered in. how does this help the future fans????? The staff were really nice, always pleasant and promised they would see what they could do...not much now by the look of things. You can buy a portakabin and employ 3 part time staff for a fraction of certain people's wages who don't seem to understand how to support the growth of the club. What now for the young fans....any old firm top, Ross County, Aberdeen, or any other distant team that sell small sizes??....ARE THEY TRYING TO DRIVE THE FANS AWAY?
We have to keep the shop and merchandise going to continue the growth of the club among the younger fans. Get rid of whoever decided this and get someone in who understands the basics of marketing.
