    The players deserve a wee bit of credit for having fight and with Kilmarnock losing and Arbroath drawing all us still to play for

    I can’t remember being hanging about 2nd place in the league table much last season or the past few! So I don’t get the argument we have a worse team ever.

    Were Dennis Wyness or Billy Mackay prolific goalscorers and the finished article before getting the chance and finding their feet with us? Also I don’t think our young up and comers Roddy McGregor or Cameron Harper for example scored any goals until they got the chance to. We need to give players young or old a chance, don’t we?

    I do trust the club to bring in the talent that is required ! Expect more imminent arrivals !

    We’ll probably need someone or a few who can go straight into the team and make a difference. That will be expensive no doubt but we are a team performing in the upper reaches of Scottish football ! Surely some of these guys experienced or not looking for regular games can be sold on this and knowing it can be a big stepping stone to come here, even with the carrot of ending up in the top division and with improved deals. Scott Allan and Kai Kennedy recent examples. Covid unfortunately has got in the way of our progress as well. If part time Arbroath can get quality recruits in surely we can.

    The scary thing is, if Arbroath don’t win the league they could still wipe everyone out in the playoffs and still get promoted.

    We can’t keep relying or expecting the return of ex players to do us a turn. It’s sometimes unreal the clamour for some of our former ‘wonders’ to come back and to reproduce their heroics! Let’s carry on the way we do and bring on the untried potential of keen guys looking to rebuild there careers with us or young up and coming new talent. With a bit of luck that will work better than the return of Daniel Mackay or the likes. Fair to say it’s a pity he just didn’t stay with us though a bit longer!

    The bottom 5 in the league are looking out for survival already so this will make games against them just as difficult as any of the top half opponents. It’s going to make it a decent competitive few months ahead. Play offs this time are a realistic target. I don’t think it’s a given that Kilmarnock are anywhere near as automatic favourites. January sales activity might be on the cards for some teams to strengthen, it’s easier for the central belters to pick up quality loanees. The supply of Ross co misfits have dried up for us ?

    Definitely notice the oddity of it when they play at Clach, Nairn closer to home. Hope they enjoy the trip to Wick !

    Heavy torrents of rain in Inverness at the moment and forecast not good over the next hour! It will affect the game one way or another. Flippers snorkels and Brolleys required!
