  1. 10th January 2020

    Good morning

Please be advised that there will be a pitch inspection at 12 noon today ahead of tomorrow’s Ladbrokes Championship game between Inverness CT and Queen of the South.

    Kind regards

  2. According to todays Daily Express

"Hamilton Academical are likely to lose out to Scottish Premiership neighbours Motherwell for the signature of Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Liam Polworth." (Daily Express)

  3. It is a follow on from Manager John Roberson's comments after last weeks match that he felt Inverness were not getting major decisions from match officials

I notice also it is mentioned in match report on Press & Journal website    relevant extract

"Inverness had trailed by a solitary goal at the break, following Gavin Reilly’s breakthrough midway through the first-half, however John Robertson’s men looked to have equalised when Liam Polworth’s cross-cum-shot appeared to have crossed the line before being beaten clear by goalkeeper Craig Samson, however referee Willie Collum and assistant Sean Carr made no award."  ANDY SKINNER PRESS & JOURNAL

  4. More controversy as It would appear that Liam Polworth's  cross come shot which came off the post was well over the line before goalkeeper Samson clawed it away

the only photograph seems to show Samson's right foot on the line meaning the ball was the whole arm length over the line as he scooped it away yet linesman and referee waved play on

  5. Here is the full text of Charlie Christie attack from BBC Sportsound

Inverness legend Charlie Christie launches astonishing attack on club after derby defeat

Richie Foran's side sit adrift at the bottom of the table after a 4-0 thumping at County - and Christie says things must change.

Former Inverness manager Charlie Christie has launched a scathing attack on the club in the wake of their mauling at the hands of Ross County .

Richie Foran's side are fighting for their Premiership  survival. five points adrift at the bottom after a 4-0 thumping at the hands of rampant County at Dingwall last night.

On-form Irish international Liam Boyce bagged all four goals in a win which is a major blow to Inverness' hopes of survival.

And Christie, who is a club stalwart having been there as a player, manager and now involved with the youth development side, is adamant things have to change.

It's been a fall from grace for the Highlanders, after winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, something that has left Christie “incredulous.

The 51-year-old told BBC Sportsound: "I was manager at this football club and got us 7th in the table, and some of the fans wanted rid of me. It’s not good enough.”

Although Christie showed sympathy towards gaffer Richie Foran, saying he is doing all that he can, he admitted his fears for the team he loves.

Ripping into the current set-up, criticising everything from the club shop to transfer moves, he continued: "I love the club but, look at the shop, a portacabin is unacceptable.

"We won the Scottish Cup, what have we done? We used to run a really tight ship."

"We’ve changed our ethos grossly and that’s not good. You have to be ambitious but you have to live beyond your means and look to take the club on.

"It hurts me to say it, but this has been coming. I've been there since day one, I need to watch what I'm saying because I'm an employee of the club, but it's disappointing."

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37216822

this extract shows he wishhes him all the best but is less than complimentary about new boss Richie Foran

He admits he did not see Foran as a coach, but says the 36-year-old Irishman will benefit from having Hughes' assistant, Brian Rice, at his side.

"He's probably been flung in at the deep end and I wish him all the best," Hughes said.

"He's a rookie. I don't think that coaching is his forte, coming up with ideas, being innovative, but that doesn't mean you can't become a good manager if you have other people doing that for you."

Chelsea's new boy Michy Batshuayi has been fined by Spanish police after seeing his £180,000 Lamborghini towed away.

Batshuayi, who has joined the west London club after starring for Belgium at Euro 2016, is on holiday in Ibiza before returning for pre-season.

But after he left his car parked under a tree, to keep it in the shade, it was removed and the striker was slapped with a £330 fine.

RICHIE FORAN hopes Henrik Ojamaa will snub Australia for Inverness.

SunSport understands the new Caley Thistle boss is keen to add the former Motherwell hitman to his squad.

But sources Down Under claim A League outfit Sydney FC are ready to offer the 25-year-old a bumper deal.

Ojamaa is a free agent after leaving Austrian second tier side Wacker Innsbruck.

  12. Interesting quotes from Yogi's pal John Collins today

"What he has done with average players, no support, no training ground, no sports science, no video analysis is incredible. If Inverness lose John Hughes then it will be a huge loss to them."

“John will be disappointed he’s lost one of his top players in Miles Storey but he lost them last season with the likes of Graeme Shinnie, Billy McKay, Ryan Christie and Marley Watkins all moving on. But he finds players, moulds them into his system and builds teams. He will do it again.

"How his name hasn’t been mentioned for the Celtic job I don’t know. "

  13. Miles Storey was a Swindon Town player and as his parent club they were due under English League rules a developement fee even when his contract had run out

Swindon Town Chairman Lee Power was lookig for £250,000 for Storey Aberdeen have apparently negotiated that down to nearer £200,000

Remember he charged ICT a fee of £50,000 to extend the loan spell in January

  14. It was not as simple as Miles accepting a better offer from Aberdeen

It would appear that Swindon Town his parent club demanded a development fee for Miles Storey Inverness were informed

Aberdeen paid that to Swindion which was excess of £200,000 Inverness were not williing or were unable to match that money

HEARTS will ask the SPFL to call off tomorrow night's game in Inverness after their squad was wiped out by a sickness bug.

SunSport understands the Jambos' have been left with as few as seven recognised first-team players training at Riccarton today.

Concerned Jambos chiefs are in talks with the governing body, but are resigned to making the journey - hopeful that at least a few of the walking wounded will make themselves available.

  17. In todays Daily Express

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have told Partick Thistle they plan to talk to midfield trio Stuart Bannigan, Steven Lawless and Abdul Osman, who are all out of contract this summer, about a switch to their Scottish Premiership rivals next season

    and todays P & J

Partick Thistle manager Alan Archibald has already resigned himself to losing Stuart Bannigan next season, with Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager John Hughes having made an approach for the 23-year-old midfielder who is out of contract in the summer

  18. This is an extract from todays Scotman on Vincent and Williams

    Pretty accurate I would say

"One of Vincent’s drawbacks is his tendency to get injured quite frequently, making the three-year deal dished out to him a little surprising. However, he’ll likely come cheap and will be a good character to have around the squad for the duration of his deal.

Williams is a left-sided player who can operate just as adequately at left back or left midfield. He arrived at Inverness CT as a winger, but was pushed back at the start of this season to cover for the loss of Graeme Shinnie. He does tend to impact games a little more when operating from deep, since his technical and crossing attributes don’t quite match up to the better attackers in the top flight. When he plays from deep, he provides a valuable out-ball and always makes himself available with a terrific engine and work rate.

Defensively he’s not brilliant, but he’s fared better in the position than many anticipated. This is because he often displays a good understanding of the game and it enables him to remain disciplined in the role, knowing when and when not to bomb forward and support."

  19. Scott Burns of the Daily Express was the Journalist who broke the story he initially said that Aberdeen had triggered the £200k transfer clause in Greg Tansey contract

Later on transfer deadline day he posted doubt that the deal would go ahead stating Aberdeen had offered to meet the £200k not  as per the contract clause but in installments
