  1. Strange though it seems the last season we spent in the first division was probably about the most enjoyable imho but then we had a new manager who for all his faults had started a fairly successful re-build well before relegation. Despite a shaky start we were on the way up pretty quickly. This time the omens are less encouraging. Whatever else, we're in for interesting times

Disgraceful scenes at Hampden. Such a contrast to the brilliant but dignified celebrations last year, A very substantial fine for Hibs and the same for dusting off the sectarian song book the The Rangers fans clearly inherited from Rangers.

The latter may bring some additional income to the Premiership next season but the league will still be much the poorer for their presence.

The moronic Hibs fans should be deprived of their trophy celebration which should now be presented in private at a later date.

Certainly don't condone any violence if the outraged Rangers account is true but from TV pictures it looked as though the vast majority of Hibs fans were just exuberant much as we were at Ayr Utd or in final game 09/10. Interestingly it was claimed on BBC  that Rangers fans were also invading pitch.

I accept that this kind of appointment can and has worked at both this and other clubs and that any appointment is always a gamble. I just don't think that this is the right gamble to take at this time. I'd rather see him as assistant to someone with a respected managerial CV who can re-instil confidence and attract quality players to the club as this seems to be a major issue right now.

  4. Hope this is not true. No disrespect to Ritchie as he has given the club great service but he needs to prove himself with managerial experience in lower leagues and is not what we need right now to steady the ship.

  5. Not sure if he'd be interested but would be a great appointment,  'the rangers' connection aside. Modest, articulate and with a high enough profile to attract players in. Qualities somewhat lacking in the recently departed  predecessor in my humble opinion.

  6. At the start of the 2014-2015 season I think it's fair to say that I felt somewhat underwhelmed by what I thought we were going to be watching and how we would fair, and I think one or two others would agree that they felt the same.

We didn't exactly finish the 2013-2014 season to our full potential and outwith the highlight of getting to the League Cup Final, I still had the feelings of 'what if'.

I was never the biggest fan of the appointment of John Hughes, I couldn't see how he could take us forward and while I support ICT through and through I posted before the start of the season on a thread that he had 8-10 games to win me over, I also recall going as far as stating that how he conducted himself in pre/post matches interviews and with the media needed to be drastically worked on.

Well the 8-10 games came and went and now I owe John Hughes a huge apology for my comments and for doubting that he could take the club forward, wow was I wrong in the biggest way possible. I genuinely believe that there are more ICT fans who felt the same way and had doubts but here's one who will openly admit he was wrong.

Big man, thanks so much for this season, you and the team have massively surpassed my expectations and provided me with some awesome memories.

Me too for verily I did doubt the word of John for I had given myself unto Butcher until he did reveal his true nature to me. I was lost but now I am found.

    Anyone else?

  7. Gave their lives for a flag? Do you mean the union flag as a symbol of the political union between Scotland and England? Who exactly do you believe gave their lives for that cause? Members of my family gave their lives in the forces for a number of reasons- their families, comrades and communities. How dare you insult their memory by assuming they did so because they agreed with your unionist politics.

  8. The SNP always strike me as the cuddly party

The Young teenager who has got fed up of living  with Mum and Dad's house rules

It has found that going out on a Saturday night is good fun

There is a cheery auntie who takes them out for tea and cakes, an old uncle who likes to make silly jokes.

The teenager really would like to get a flat, be independent. Mum and Dad  are not too keen on that

They get there spending money every week, don't really understand where it comes from, they expect presents at Christmas, but most of all they think they know best, and they want to fly the nest. Full knowing if things go wrong Mum and Dad will always be there

Congratulations on mastering the caps lock button. There are other formatting options and these include bold which you have left on. Keep practising and one day you will be able to make your patronising posts independently.

  9. In fact it isn't even in Scotland, which should be fairly obvious to anyone who has cast their vote today given that this polling station doesn't have the obligatory SNP mob outside. What's that all about, why can't people be allowed to vote in peace?

It's sort of the way the SNP have always done it. This has been part and parcel of aggressive nationalism in general for decades so you come to expect it. And as for anyone intending to vote for any other party.... well if the mob puts them off coming, then all the better.

It's not a universal feature though. When I arrived to vote there were no Nats outside at all, which I actually found a bit disappointing since this was a missed opportunity to wind them up again.

There were certainly plenty on Inverness High Street on Saturday for the FM's visit. How many were locals and how many were an imported rentamob I'm not sure, but three Yellowshirts were wheeling this trolley piled with all these SNP toys they dish out all over the place when the whole lot fell to earth right in front of me.

I neither broke step nor looked behind to clock the inevitable chorus of feral jeers as I observed: "What a wonderfully symbolic collapse!"

Better watch what you say about the yellowshirts now Charles or you might find yourself being dragged off to the haggis mines in the middle of the night. But seriously as someone so fond of historical analogy you must appreciate the irony of there being one of each left alive to scuttle off to their masters in London bearing news of the massacre.
