  1. Tremendous effort DBJ. I was on your bus as well. I hope you did as the passengers suggested and used a little bit of the change for a "massage".
  2. Here's what I send to my pals who weren't there today for what it's worth. Half time report. Caley playing 4-3-2-1. Christie and Roberts behind Hooper. Christie and Roberts neat and tidy (very similar players) but not offering any width. Hooper looks a willing runner but a downgrade on Ofere. Not half as strong. He's not signed yet. **** knows who'll play striker against Astra. The boy Wedderburn from Cowdenbeath playing left back. He's a unit. There would be more mobility if I was offering myself on the overlap. Tansey blowing through his arse. Vincent playing well. Defence not troubled. Meekings, Williams, Tremarco and Doran not fit today. Alarm bells. Second half not as neat. Polworth able deputy to Tansey / Draper. Passes well. Strikes the ball like a young Ian Black. Christie best on park, becoming a leader. Wanting the ball all the time. Dani Lopez more Jim Hamilton than David Silva. Doubt he'll be back. Jordan Roberts a lot quieter out on the wing. Looks like he should be rapid but didn't stretch his legs at any point. Think he's decent though. Hooper probably worth taking. We have to sign more than one striker anyway. Wedderburn is not a full back.
  3. Make that trickyleftwinger x 3 please. Another mate just got the green light from his work. It's like all his Christmases have come at once.
  4. Added my name for the bus. Fantastic effort on the organising. Take a bow son.
  5. This is the Gellions deal. http://www.sportoptions.com/75543120a5/index.asp The flight back appears to be at 23:45 on the night of the match. If the kick off is anything after 21:00 (Romania two hours ahead so Champs Lge matches normally kick off at 21:45) they'll not see the match!!
  6. I was at their qualifying game against Stromgodset last season. Nice shiny new stadium and their ultras are pretty mental but a lot of turmoil at the club at the moment. The army have taken away their badge! http://www.espnfc.com/blog/espn-fc-united/68/post/2497187/dinamo-steaua-bucharest-derby-nick-ames Interesting. Do you think Marius Niculae will be at the game or did the transfer dispute leave bad feelings? His old agent is an Inverness lad who lives out there with his Romanian wife. I was in touch with him about this trip. He says Marius is on holiday at the moment so he wasn't sure if he was aware of the European tie. He did say that he was absolutely buzzing when we won the cup so I guess there are no hard feelings. Marius is a really highly respected player in Romania. My girlfriend is Romanian and when I was telling her family that Marius played in Inverness they thought that we must be a big club. Romanian media might be less naieve but they probably think we're decent. I'll get the lowdown on what they're saying closer to the time.

  8. Where are you flying from? Flying from Aberdeen via Copenhagen! Want to arrive decent time on 22nd to have a good stab at the Wednesday night. Sure some people have already noticed but if not be aware that it's going to be roasting.
  9. Alright folks, been following this thread for a couple of days. Myself and a mate just booked up Tuesday-Friday. I used to stay in Bucharest. People want to be looking for accommodation close to Placa Uniri or Lipscani. That's the old town. Loads and loads of bars / restaurants in that area. You'll be surprised how plush it is. Nothing else of that class for miles around. Stick to those places and you'll be fine. I booked an apartment on AirBnB. For those who haven't tried it, it's great but it'll be best for groups of 2-6 max.
