Might have to from January, anyway Polworth is an enganche ?. Austin I had hoped would have been our 15-20 goal player but it looks more like Oakley. White is good for high balls into the box. Daniel will have more of a role next season when U18 option is out probably to replace Austin, out of contract end of season.
  3. Yep, and why not combine both of our examples? A PS4 Fifa 19 tournament 10-12 (free flow red bull/coke/grape fanta - I don't know what the young ones drink, it was White Lightning in my day) and a calzone, pizza slice and a Premier League live game at 12.15, turn of the leccy at 2.50.

    Return of OFW

If attendances were at 3500 we could. The wage budget has gone from £1.6m to £600,000 (?). 1900-2000 season ticket sales about covers it. Probably can but don't need/want to. And come New Year we may be looking for a striker and a new midfielder....

White is a target man, Austin is a trequartista. I think it's the style of play/tactics that have kept Austin and Calder out. Oakley might be the utility forward. Either way, need 15 goals from one and 10 from the other.
  6. Agree to a point, last year was an aberration and not a fair comparison. Partick sacked their manager for less. The negativity is just disappointment, and understandable, people have seen 7.5 hrs of football and 6 of those were draws with teams we were expected to beat. There might be many dour fans, but isn't that the point of football - to be entertained and escape the humdrum - I'm not sure where the lime between duty and obligation and entertainment is in football. Anyway, yes - everything is on track, but too early for plaudits.
  7. More than a quarter of 16-to-24-year-olds do not drink. They spend 35 hours a week online. Kids spending less time outdoors than prisoners do. This research does not indicate a growth market. A future clientele who don't go to pubs, don't leave the house, and who want to be online. Add to that the rather inclement weather and the rather out of the way location and the price and I fear greatly for football. Are they like churches?
  8. Daniel Mackay was in Scottish Schools FA squad for the U18 in March for the Centenary Shield Competition, through playing for Millburn Academy.
  9. The U18 squad only began in August/September this year. Last year's U17 squad didn't have any of our lot either as far as know. Any info?
  10. 2017/18: 9th / goals for: 10 / goals against: 16 LLDWLLLDD 2018/19 3rd / goals for: 11 / goals against: 06 WDDWWDDDD Home games: DDDWD Away games: WDWD So we have taken 47% of the points at home but 67% away. If you flipped the home/away it'd be a great start, but that away percentage is not sustainable and so what we need to do is win, at home, from 30 October v Dunfermline onwards.
  11. Filipe Morais scored his second goal of the season v Newport today in League Two. Both goals have been penalties.
  12. What would a ICT U18 player need to do to get into the national squads? U18s /U19s no player there?
  13. Great time to score. 20 mins to find a winner, but draw is good
  14. Only way to make up for a new manger bounce is to put them under pressure from the off. If we sit back that would allow them into a groove. Gung ho v Defensively minded....
  15. Having a rival (perceived threat) is what well-attended clubs generally have and/or monopoly. We are in one of the most sparsely populated areas. JR on BBC seemed to imply RC had a bigger fan base (and thus budget). Perhaps ICT have been a bigger boogeyman for RC than the other way round. Perhaps we have a more apathetic base than other teams? We can adjust for that but as CaleyD says it’s all subjective until we can do research into measures to adjust for that.
  16. Yes, my line was a bit pedantic in that Sky, BT etc are still reliant on fans i.e. it is by discrete subscription and thus still fan of football money underpinning it - but yes, I know what your main point is. Especially in Scotland, clubs should be doing their utmost to get fans attending and sadly there is very little social innovation in Scottish football - closed shops, old boys networks, etc. is far from the interdisciplinary, across team collaborations that is behind driving change for societies. It's not that the ideas here are outlandish or unworkable, it's just that football beaks and boards are not dynamic but traditional. Friday night summer football
  17. Agreed, and on a club-by-club basis it would be difficult to get generalisation anyway. I would say Friday night football would not work at ICT (and other clubs) but with added value it might: 1) 7pm kick off, shuttle buses from Falcon square 5.30/630. 530pm people can get an hour of food & beer 630pm people just in for game. At 845pm sports bar becomes like Foxes. Shuttles back to Falcon/Inverness main areas 9pm, 10pm, 11pm. The club gets revenue from bar/hospitality, shuttle bus can be £3. 2) tents on pitch after 11pm, £10 per tent and use of showers/toilets plus continental breakfast in morning (to tent, choice of jams)
  18. It was rudimentary but yes, the control i.e. Clubs A, B, C, D (as usual) could be compared to Club E (Friday - as usual) ; Club F (Friday - shuttle & 25% off) ; Club G (Friday - nightclub in sports bar after game) ; Club H (Friday - dinner & drink before) etc etc. Whichever one of E, F, G, H showed a positive effect (assuming they did) could then be investigated more. Similarly, one (or all) of EFGH could show a negative effect in which case...
  19. You would need to find two football clubs, like for like (or near as). Keep one playing on Saturdays at 3pm and move one to Fridays at 745pm and monitor the figures. If the latter showed a sizeable positive effect then there would be a case.
  20. All the money in football comes from fans, and football should be played at whichever time is optimal for the majority who would attend. That sounds very unicorn and rainbows I know, but how much will TV companies realistically pay for games in deserted stadia?
  21. How so? I know he is contrary but was at RC too with McIntyre.
  22. He mentions USA three times in interview with P&J article and Brora as just an aside to getting a call. Might only play one game.
  23. Probably best option, he would be sought after for a Championship team and unlucky Neilson and Caldwell were in the wings. For a Premiership team... - League Cup swings it.
  24. Gary Caldwell appointed Partick Thistle manager. He had a tough 29 games at Chesterfield: w3 d8 l18 but had done well at Wigan. It's probably a good choice as every manager has a blip.
