Fiorentina

There's a suggestion in today's Press & Journal that efforts are being made to line up a friendly against Fiorentina during the Italian training camp.

We've come a long way from the time when a " glamour match" was a pre season friendly against the likes of Morton on their  pre season Highland tour.

Caley Thistle could face Serie A side Fiorentina during their pre-season training camp in Italy next month.

The Highlanders will definitely play a local regional league side from Montecatini, where they will be based for a week from July 3.

Talks have taken place regarding an additional friendly against the Viola, who will play in the qualifying rounds of next season's Champions League after finishing fourth in Serie A last season.

Inverness director of football Graeme Bennett is optimistic he can strike a deal.

He said: "We are working with Fifa-licensed agents to get a couple of friendlies sorted out. One of the teams that has been mentioned as possible opponents is Fiorentina because our base is only 20 miles from Florence.

"The only thing is that it might be a bit early for them."

Come on Grasser get it sorted  :001:

Changed days indeed from going to places like Peterhead and Elgin though I hear we might be going to Peterhead again this year Not sure if that is correct

The lads all deserve a few days in the sunshine and lets hope they come back with the energy and fervour they need to get off to a flier at the start of the new season<a href="http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNfox000" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_10_7.gif" alt="Brazil" border="0"></a>

By eck! If we got to play i Viola I'd be quite interested in going out there to watch it! That would be incredible!

Some of the players they have had play for them over the years, Mijatovic, Chiesa, Rui Costa, Olivera, Toldo, Di Livio, Batistuta and Adriano!  :010:

Surely the best one however is the great Lorenzo Amorouso!  :015:
