Interesting article in the Courier ......

CALEY Thistle's first team squad should be faster and fitter than ever before ahead of the new SPL season.

Under the guidance of former player/manager Craig Brewster, Inverness were credited with being one of the fittest sides in Scotland's top flight, but current boss Charlie Christie believes his players' physical fitness can be improved upon even further.

On Monday, weights for a specially designed strength and conditioning programme will be delivered to Tulloch Caledonian Stadium with the aim being to enhance the players' pace.

The programme is just one of a number of minor adjustments Christie has made to pre-season training this year as he bids to get his squad ready for the challenges of the 2006/07 Premier League campaign.

Can they get any fitter? Under Brewster they were incredibly fit. maybe CC is hoping roscoe will make one of his belting runs up the wing then carry on up into the north stand - do a back flip and catch the ball after he has belted it over the bar - saves a bit of time waiting for the ball to come back into play!

p.s. what about this goalie just like Mark Brown hasn't dropped the ball once.

If everything goes according to CC's plan we will see fewer lung busting sprints down the wings and a lot more quick passing and short moves throughout the whole of the pitch.  From hearing him speak at the fans forum I got the impression that he wants to increase the tempo of matches which ties in with his fitness plans and will be a postive move towards making matches more enjoyable.

Sounds good to me. Let's also hope our home form improves this season and we see a few more victorys. It can be a cold place to sit and watch at times. Some good performances would certainly help my kids keep warm.

Sounds very good to me. If CC is planing on getting the squad even fitter than last session the club should have a great chance on acheiving a high league position. This would surley mean that the team will have more in there legs in the last 10 mins or so in a match so i think we will see a lot more goals in the last part off the matches
