Tinkerville Team

Comfortable stuffing of County. Caff slotting in the first after the ball played pinball in the County defence. Denzil made and scored the second................you know he's going to do it, the defendedr knows it, the tea lady knows it, the man on the moon know it, yet it still happens.  He scooped the ball past the defender and scored with a neat right foot curler low past the keeper from a tight angle. Well done Denzil, that was more like it.  We threatened to run away with it for a while and Morgan and McAllister should have added to the tally.  Rory being thwarted by a combination of an incredible reflex save from the keeper and the crossbar.  Hart swung a free kick into the box and everybody missed it, including the goalie for number three. Thus endeth the scoring but we should maybe have added one more before the end. Better game to pass judgement on our players, Denzil showed a bit more eagerness and took his goal well. Mike Fraser made one good save.............and one blooper, dropped one at the strikers feet

Team that started was

---------------------------fraser-------------------------

caff-----------dods---------------grantie---------hastings

wilson-------black--------------keogh-----------morgan

---------------------rory-----denzil-------------------------

Thought Morgan started well and Blackie did well to keep the heid after a couple of late tackles. Keogh was busy but a bit disappointing for me. Barry looked good in the second half  and was starting to open up the defence.

Rory again had no end product but Denzil scored neatly.  We were too good for County and the difference in quality showed. Crowd was ????????one thousand maybe, maybe more.  The downside of playing County is that the seats in the South stand will now have to be disinfected, with some maybe beyond help having to be burned :016:

Big players for us this year in my humble opinion could be Morgan Grantie and Bazza, and today they looked in good nick. :003:

Campbell...........nothing special, worked away, would need to see more from him.

Good day all round.

Us beating County and Dundee United getting beaten by Dundee. Poor Brew - NOT  :015:

Must say it was a poor attendance today though.

Keogh dissapointing???? You are kidding right  :006:

Time you had yer birthday.

I shall enlarge on that statement car. I said he was busy, typically so from him, but like Rory, there was no end product and he missed a good opportunity drifting in at the back post. I said disappointing me, which means that I always look for something to happen when he has the ball, but nothing really came of it today.  Therefore whilst he disappointed me, he still had an OK game. No failures really from our team and as you said, fairly one sided affair. Hastings will be worthy MoM material when his crossing improves, he gets in to fantastic positions then all too often balloons the ball over the crossbar.  Today his crosses were a bit floated making it easy for the defenders and difficult for the strikers.

I would go along with Morgan as the pick of them today, but he also drifted out of the game after a good start. Still, no complaints from me.

Morgan MOTM by far with Keogh coming second, a very good performance all round and great to see Dennis back on target, this was more like it from us with County totally committted to a physical game we concentrated on control and easily won the day, well done to all the players. What about the boy Proctor, superb!

I can't say that anyone stood out as being a clear MOTM. Most of our guys did fine, the defence tidied everything up safely but County didn't exactly put up much of a fight. In the first half, our best stuff came down the left so I guess Morgan and Hastings deserve the credit.

Campbell looked reasonable enough when he came on, making a few decent breaks down the right wing, got in a couple of reasonable crosses and a shot near the end. If we do sign him, we should get him a kit that fits.

I didn't see Proctor do anything to merit particular praise.

First time I've seen some of these younger guys like Sutherland, Campbell and Soane. During the pre-match warm-up, I honestly thought they were probably the mascots ot something - so I was surprised when they started coming on as 2nd half subs. They look about 12 years old...or maybe I'm just getting old...

David Proctor is a young player with great control, maturity and a willingness to take responsibility, he goes about his business so completely and must be a model for his professionalism to all youth players, he is an extremely modest young man yet on the park he reminds of John O'hare at Forest under Clough , quite simply he is the best young prospect we have had. You see it's all very well having Fancy strikers and Gutsie Barstards in goals but the guy who makes and shapes the game is the Procs!!

If you don't believe me as a fan ask Brewster, Robertson or the best football judge in the North,Donald Park.

And sweet Mee I still think your Hislop is as much good as a pocket in a sock.

Interesting analogy Sandy! I can think of a couple of uses for pockets in socks  :001:

I like Proc, obviously not as much as you, but I was only wondering what he'd done today  :015:

The County reaction is quite funny. According to one OTB poster we were rubbish and if we play like that 'we (County) will be seeing a lot more of ICT pretty soon'.

I would have loved to have seen the score if we had actually bothered.

What a shame about the crowd - quite pathetic in fact.

Thought you'd already have your viagra in the pockets in your pants Sandy  :001:

And sock pockets can be so unexpectedly useful don't you think?  :015: :015: :015:

No mee the pocket rocket is still in full working order and no need for a booster as yet! And I have never been in full flight with the sox on so Donaldo's soxy pockets would be of no use to this young Scottish Nobleman.

BTW, who was the owner of the Aston Martin DB9 parked one space along from the ICT managers parking space at yesterdays's game?

Firstly, Darg's (contrary to stupid speculation) picked up an slight injury in training so CC took no chances on him aggravating it.

I would have made Morgan MoM but was disappointed to see him spit the dummy when he was pulled. He had a great game as did Barry, considering what he put in the previous night...played in testimonial and with the ledgends at half time... :003:

Proctor did quite well, made a few decent moves and won the ball on a few occassions. Unfortunately, at times, he doesn't lift his head to see who's where. Twice I seen Fox in space and shouting for the ball but Proc ended up boxed in and unable to make any pass.

Caff looked like he's getting back to his old self. Thought he had a very good game.

Fraser just needs to build confidence. He didnt have much to do but pulled of a cracking save.

Campbell I thought showed a great deal of promise and I'm certain DP will make somethign of him. Just a pity he doesn't have the size to go with his speed and skill.

All in all it was a decent performance by everyone. Just a pity the same couldn't be said for the opposition and their foul-mouthed manager.
