St. Mirren match build up starts here!

Recommended Posts

I went looking for stats on previous encounters with the Saints, and if soccerbase is right we have played them 19 times, with Caley winning 11 and drawing 5 of these.  We haven't lost the last 11 matches against St. Mirren, making us unbeaten against them for almost 5 years!  Were Tom Hendrie and John Coughlin not sacked as a result of hammerings by us?

You seem to have missed the 1-0 Scottish Cup win down at Love Street, Darren Thomson got the winner in about 78mins IIRC.  Not sure of the date of the fixture, but its the 2nd year we got to the Semis I think.

We have played the buddies a total of 21 times - 1 friendly (our first ever official game as Caledonian Thistle in 1994), 16 times in the first division, twice in the CIS Cup, and once in both the Scottish Cup and 'Bells (Challenge) Cup'

Hislopsoffsideagain has it spot-on with dates/scores and as jj_ict mentioned, the missing game is the 1-0 win at Love St which was on 7th Feb 2004.

It's been a while since we dished out a 5-goal gubbing - we used to do it quite regularly in the lower divisions.

I reckon St. Mirren are probably our best bet for such a result this season. And this is our best chance yet to go TOP OF THE SPL!!!      :003:

I think you are seriously under estimating St. Minge then.
