Worst manager ever?

ICT have been relatively blessed with managers, Pele, Robertson, and now Butcher.

I wonder who is the worst scottish manager or manager of a scottish team?

I'd say John Barnes, Bobby Williamson, Graham Rix, Peter Grant, Liam Brady,

John Barnes seems to be the one, You cant get much worse, He underlined his ineptitude, with his spell at Tranmere Rovers,

The Best might be easier

Alex Ferguson

Matt Busby

Bill Shankly

David Moyes

Jock Stein

Kenny Dalgliesh

In fact all the best managers seem to be Scots

Best Cricket Captain, Douglas Jardine - also Scot l- led the infamous bodyline tour to Australia

Tony Mowbray by a country mile .

Mowbray done well at Hibs though. We need a manager that is consistently sh*te. Always thought Sandy Clark was rubbish.

Yeah, Mowbray doesnt get a bad rep because he was using his attractive, attacking style...but in truth, he bought rubbish players.

Liam Brady was pretty rubbish too...lost 5-2 to Neuch?tel Xamax from Switzerland in Uefa cup...

Why Bobby Williamson? Did magnificently well at Killie, winning a cup and a decent run in Europe. Did well at Hibs, even though they hated him for being a Rangers man (how pathetic is that?) and he was the one that got the Riordan/Brown/Thomson etc players developing. Mowbray came later. Got Plymouth promoted (okay, most of the hard work was done) and they were never in the bottom three of the Championship during his reign. They were as soon as he left. Nobody else could do much better.

Franck Sauzee was pretty poor. So was Tony Fitzpatrick. He developed some decent players but when you look at the before and after of him leaving (twice!), you see that he might have been a decent coach but a poor manager. Especially with that Saints team he had with the likes of Victor, Stickroth, Archibald, Lambert, Martin etc etc.

Maurice Malpas as a manager in his own right did pretty dreadfully with both clubs he's managed. At Motherwell he took a top 6 SPL side to just missing relegation and no more in the space of a season, and at Swindon he got the sack for another terrible display. He should just stick at being an assistant.

Claude Anelka had a pretty terrible record at Raith. He signed players from the Paris 7-a-side leagues and his record is something like one point from eight games in charge. Unbelievably he now has another management job with AC St Louis!

Scott Leitch was rather poor with County.

Mark McGhee will probably be added to that list soon as well. The only job he ever got right was Motherwell.

Brewster has to go into that category from me as well.

Nonsense , McGhee won the league with Reading , took Wolves to the play-offs and an F.A. cup semi final , won the league with Milwall and took them to the play-offs the next season , he also won promotion with Brighton . Not a bad record and 1 our own Terry Butcher would be envious of . Your judging MacGhee on his short spell at Aberdeen .

He was also sacked by Wolves, relegated with Brighton, and is frowned upon at Reading for ditching them for Wolves.

Plus this was about Scottish clubs, he was a good manager at Motherwell but at Aberdeen (granted with very little help by his board) has inherited a decent squad but managed to put them on a downward spiral. Jimmy Calderwood left due to his struggle to get Aberdeen into Europe, they were close to getting dragged into a relegation fight this season.

He may'be isn't the worst manager in Scotland but he certainly isn't one of the better ones.
