10 team SPL marches on

I think that's exactly as it stands now. Maybe things will have to get worse to get better. The fans arent idiots, we know what their agenda is, however our worries are based on the good of the game,i.e. falling attendances, falling co-efficient, too many average foreign players, youth not getting a chance, a malaise and apathy seeping in, top-heavy bureaucracy, and a ticking timebomb of debt.

Cut your cloth v buy buy buy.

Im not to sure that is correct CaleyD, I think the SPL are a seperate body to the SFA all together and the SFA couldn't do a thing to intefere in the league set up. The SPL broke away from the SFL, there is just an agreement to promote relegate between set ups. It is the same situation in England and did one of the league executives not kick up a fuss when he said they were in competition with the FA?

Scarlet- Ofcoure the SFA have a job to do, they run the national team, the Scottish cup, refs and grass roots and football development but they have nothing to do with the SPL at all and could never intefere in the running of the league.

If that's the case, then why is it that clubs have the right of appeal to the SFA for any business conducted by the SFL or SPL that they disagree or are unhappy with..and accordingly why the SFA have the power to over rule the SFL/SPL, can instruct them to revisit decisions and can also increase any sanctions handed out.

The SFL/SPL are a bit like the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly...they have certain authority and power, but ultimately they are answerable to Westminster who decide just how much authority and power they are allowed and who can still pull the carpet from under them any time they liked if they were really screwing things up.

No. I am sorry, but you do NOT have to lump it.

A mass protest (peaceful of course) or a mass boycot would soon bring at least a measure of change.

HOWEVER, as soon as the minimal measures implemented to get the fans back in the parks had succeeded you can bet your bottom dollar that as far as the top two clubs are concerned that would be the end of the concessions.

Frankly, pals, a really sustained boycot is the only answer to bring the clubs who want this to the negotiating table.

"So, what." You may ask. "Will happen if the clubs go bankrupt during, or as a result of, this process inititaed by the fans?"

Frankly, it seems as if the Rubicon has now been crossed by Mr Doncaster. And his cohorts, either because of blackmail or offered miney inducements, are quick to willingly agree to his proposals and follow suit-- like sheep to the slaughter.

The bottom line is not money, folks, it's whether you, the paying customer who has the real power in his or her hands, is willing to do without your Saturday football until all this baloney changes to a much more fan-orientated and fan-pleasing structure. Let's face it, you certainly pay enough of your hard earned money to watch it weekin and week out so .......................................?

You can grumble all you like but you must use that power or put-up with the ten team league and, very quickly, stop moaning about it. Otherwise, you will be moaning for the rest of your life if you want to watch the Doncaster, Celtic and Rangers gravy train leave the station followed closely by all the other little puffers hanging on to their coat-tails.

Tartan Army boycott of Scotland game v Brazil at Emirates on Mar 27th?

The clubs meet again on Monday. If the chairmen and the SPL continue to ignore and insult the fans, perhaps a boycott of the above game will happen? As said, the SFA are not defenceless in this, they are just as culpable, and have been for many years.

I notice that no official statement was given following todays meeting and that Doncaster et al just disappeared straight into a board meeting and avoiding the press.

Only statement being published at the moment is from Stewart 'Flip Flop' Milne has changed his position yet again by saying that he would be "disappointed" if the 10-12 league structure did not go ahead.

I hope the (set your personal interests aside and do it for the good of Scottish football) guilt trip isnt set upon anyone seeing as.

A 10 team SPL will

Reduce the amount of Scottish players per team

A 10 team SPL will

Reduce the amount of youngsters to be blooded in the SPL.

10 years from now the Scotland manager will be forced to select a quarter of his team from the SPL2
