CALEY Thistle target Gary Irvine is interested in returning to the Highlands with the SPL club.

The Dundee full back is out of contract at Dens Park and has been offered a new one-year deal to stay with the First Division side. But SPL sides Inverness, Dunfermline and Motherwell have all registered an interest.

Irvine, 26, previously played in the Highlands, having spent six months on loan at Ross County in 2006 after beginning his career at Celtic.

Worth a deal?

Cant say i know that much about him, anyone seen him play?

I'd be pretty happy with him coming. Good attacking full back but can also do a job defensively. Let's hope he isn't put off by the move to the highlands.

Irvine has family in the Higlands apparently. He is the nephew of Brian Irvine.

He also has a baby on the way and has said that he will favour any team that offers a longer term deal. The most we would go to is 2 years, which is still 1 year more than Dundee are offering him to stay.
