certainly snowing heavily at the moment though it shouldnt lie on the pitch if u/s heating on. Could be a test for the new drainage installed at the pitch in the summer. Apparently the A9 is not advisable at the moment and was closed south of perth for a while but open again now.

official line from the club ...

Although there is no snow at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, the heavy overnight sleet has left the pitch very wet. Having consulted with Northern Constabulary, the A9 is open but travelling conditions are difficult.

We are currently awaiting a pitch inspection from the match referee at 11:15.

As soon as the result of the inspection is known, we will update this message.

Well they won't be using the "high tide" excuse this time as low tide was at 11:07am!

Don't really see the point in calling it off at 11:30 as a lot of Saints fans would either be here or close enough. I know their supporters buses had already arrived. Couldn't they have given the pitch more time to see if it would drain? Or is our pitch drainage so bad that there would be no point?

This is getting quire embarrassing!

Apparently the club shop were telling people first thing this morning that there was no plans for a pitch inspection, yet here we are with a pitch inspection and no game on???

Upgraded drainage appears to have worked a treat then.

Steve Brown, the St Johnstone chairman, apparently made an announcement over the tannoy of the train travelling north saying it was entirely our club's fault that game was called off, nothing to do with police and that ICT told them at 0930 this morning that the game was not in any danger and no need for a pitch inspection. If that's not incitement then goodness knows what is, although I've every sympathy for the fans if that's true.

The only good thing about this postponement is that Saints probably won't have Sandaza when the game eventually takes place. Hopefully we won't have lost any of our top players by then.

Was thinking the same, Foran will be available again and we are more likely to get a pie at half time when its back on.

The club has still lost a fair bit of cash though maybe we can get the re match on tv.

Yes we did but it has been exceptionally wet. Also If anyone from S.t. Johnstone has been claiming it's our fault that heavy wet snow has fallen in the Inverness over area in the last 12 hours then the club should lodge a formal complaint with the spl/sfa. Also earlier in the year they had numerous posponed games early in the season due to drainage and much later than 3 hours before kick-off. You can't shoot your mouth off when the snow affects transport of his own fans also

The A9 at 10.30 from traffic scotland cameras at Drumochter, wont be nice to drive up here today.

Just looks like a typical high level road in the top half of Scotland in the winter, wont be long before some news reporters will want to drive up to film some snow but the A9 was far worse for the Celtic v ICT match a year ago.

Just back from Inverness. Can't believe the game is off - so much for new drainange system. Snow was heavy and roads not great when I left but fine now and there was very little snow in Inverness. Oh well an afternoon with Jeff and the boys for a change. Just wish Hearts woulod hurry up and score again - for themselves this time.
