Pele at formartine

Recommended Posts

Good to see that he's still finding success after all the (well documented) problems he has had in his career

I'm sure for some this will make him number 1 candidate on here to replace TB if we fail to make Europe this year.

Half a dozen years ago I would certainly be calling for SP to be considered in the event of us having a managerial vacancy but now I think he has probably been out of football at our level for too long although I am certain he could still do a job in the SFL.

Great, however, to see a Steve Paterson led team at the Summit of the Highland League again. As it happens, I saw Formartine play recently and they struck me as a typical Pele team playing with bravery, passion and no little skill. I was hoping that Clach might win the league this season but as that appears not to be despite their brave efforts on a shoestring so a Pele win is the next best thing.

Quarter-final draw is today (Thursday) at 2pm. Some big Championship clubs await - Dundee, Raith Rovers, Queen of the South and Falkirk. But they'll likely be hoping for Rangers (assuming they come through against Berwick)! The other remaining clubs are Stenhousemuir and Annan Athletic.
